That's true. Kevin Willis won a championship ring in 2003 with the San Antonio Spurs, never mind that he was a role player at that point. A ring is a ring, and basketball is a team sport. 🏀💯
Willis was a good player. He was just a hustle big man that could score a little. He wasnt much of a shot blocker because he had an abnormally short wingspan. But its crazy how the guy played from 1984-2007 retiring at 44 yrs old.
Kevin Willis was a “good power forward” but not a great power forward. Meaning he wasn’t a franchise player and to my point, he wasn’t double teamed in the post. Again, a good player who seemed to be more of a teammate to Dominique than a co-star on those Hawks teams.
Actually it was paying him like he was a top 10 star in the league. Pretty much every team makes drafting mistakes. They didn't have to give him that kind of money, though.
Being a Georgia native. The hawks was my team when I started watching NBA ball but overbtime I shifted to Miami with Alonzo Mourning but still liked the hawks. Kevin Willis was indeed a good player I enjoyed watching him!
"Wasn't very good the rest of his career" is a bold statement from a nerd in his Nana's basement. Other than that I thought the video was good. The narrator is a child so he must have done tons of research for the video. It's mostly accurate and I appreciate that. Well done.
Good channel. I think an overshadowed nba duo from 1980s would be San Antonio 's Mike the Stich Mitchell and Point Guard Johnny Moore. A little known but explosive tandem!
Looking at this video I'm not sure if they were a duo but both were talented players. I'll also say unlike Aguirre and Blackman, they never did make the conference finals.
Jackson Community College! It's just Jackson College now, but I'm from Jackson and my Dad took classes at JCC while Kevin Willis was there. My Dad say's he only said 'hi' in passing a few times but that was about it. You couldn't miss him because he was so big lol. I was always a fan of Kevin Willis because of that, but he was also a pretty good player too. Good stuff.
Good suggestions! I can definitely see Thomas Jones in the future. I like the other players, but it's alot harder to find year specific highlights for defensive players, especially a nose tackle like Rogers
The pistons were still the defending Champs in the '91 playoffs. These were the playoffs The Bulls won their first title, so going into these playoffs, the pistons were still defending Champs
Kevin Willis is lowkey underrated
His first stint with the Hawks is for sure underrated. He got very overshadowed by Nique though, but most would
Agreed
@Forgotten Player Profiles an spud but I totally agree. An ya I mean those boys were east coast showtime without the magic
Willis’ arms took up 320p outta that 380p tv. Massive big
Willis had a very effective hook shot and was one of the strongest players in league😊
Willis won a championship in 2003, should have been noted.
Not a key player by that point of his career. Just fortunate enough being on that Spurs roster.
He received one yes..
Won a chip idk about that.... maybe helped win maybe strong maybe
He wasn't a big part of that team, but I remember being happy to see Willis get a ring.

Retiring at 44 yrs old ??? DANG,I guess he didn't want to do anything else but playb-ball. LOL.
@@powerbadpowerbad most big men that were good got to remain playing 20 plus years until retirement.

Nique didn’t have a co star with him. His 2nd best player was doc rivers who was decent but not a star and the hawks also got Moses Malone
The most abominable thing that the Hawks did was draft Jon Koncak.
Hawks thought Koncak would be a franchise player to unseat Nique for the real one.
Facts. Koncak was a Bust Down Casio
Actually it was paying him like he was a top 10 star in the league. Pretty much every team makes drafting mistakes. They didn't have to give him that kind of money, though.
Kevin Willis is an NBA champs with the San Antonio Spurs in 2002-03?🏀🏆
Yes sir!!
They traded Wilkins for nothing!!!! 😮
Nique said his contract was up next year and Atlanta didn't wanna pay.

Rod Strickland next plz

Willis the first true 7ft PF in our modern day NBA…!
Yeah, before he would've been placed at C. Well, Tree Rollins was an elite shot blocker, so there was a spot for him.

Willis was a beast but he had T-Rex arms
The Hawks should've been a championship contender in the 1993-94 season but the Hawks traded Dominique Wilkins to the Clippers for Danny Mannings.
The Hawks never got past the 2nd round until 2015 & 2021
Cool video. Liked the one on Aguirre and Blackman as well
this is a fun concept. great video. I'd like to throw Latrell Sprewell & Allan Houston into the suggestion list

Willis career worse in the 2nd half than the first? I remember watching the Hawks on TBS in the 80's, love it ?
Graet material, thanks❤
Willis is a legend to my nba 2k team
New favorite nba channel good video

love the vids man they're so good

Robinson played for my Wolverines Michigan
How Wilkins managed to be hall of famer without knowing how to dribble a basketball is staggering.
When you're athletic, tall, can shoot and have a few pet moves down .... Reggie Miller didn't have much of a handle, either.
Can u do a video of Julian Peterson, Lofa Tatupa, Shaun Rodgers, and Thomas Jones?
Good suggestions! I can definitely see Thomas Jones in the future. I like the other players, but it's alot harder to find year specific highlights for defensive players, especially a nose tackle like Rogers
Kevin Willis, my Eastside Detroit homie
Kevin a Spartan my home state Michigan
If Utah would have let him play sf that would have been a sick trio.
My man!
Can you do a Reggie Theus video?
Lebron first finals he averaged 22/7/7 on 36/22/69 shooting… so I have to state jordan stats in his first finals or we have an understanding?
Kevin willis had an alligator arms.
Probably as strong as one, too.
hawks was strong team in the 80s
Human Highlight! Was the truth
Willis you make Lamebron his batch ya yea ya ha ha 😂 😉 🤣 😆
The should have put Willis at center and drafted Karl Malone
My Pistons 😂😂😂😂
Alex English Nupe Kappa Alpha Psi!
Reggie Theus Nupe Kappa Alpha Psi!!

Def not a duo in atl. Willis was a role player. Wilkins an above average star. Bird was giving him the biz

@@ForgottenPlayerProfiles u said that in the 91-92 season
@@tremiller3988 nah, they didn't even make the playoffs in '91-'92. That was Wilkins Achilles tear
@Tre Miller youtube splits it up into chapters on its own and it looks like the chapters are a year ahead than the actual season being talked about
