Just got mine a few days ago. It is a beast! Super crank tones are punchy and tear your head off. The big surprise for me was how well it modelled classics like the plexi and jcm800. They sound fantastic! The interface did take a few mins to get into, but if you use it like Taylor did, I.e. Snapshots, it is really easy and fast to use. I’m still tweaking the hell out of a POD X3, and I think it was probably the apex of that form-factor. I never notice with any of them. Anytime I've tested it, it always seems about the same across all units. I have a video where I tried to be scientific about it... but honestly in person, I'm probably the worst judge because they all sound about the same to me.
Idk if the Axe-FX developer is still hostile towards Bluetooth connectivity but I was a regular on the forums there prior to the Axe III release and when it came out, anyone who asked why it didn't have bluetooth was basically shutdown and silenced. I thought it was a really dumb thing to leave out but I'm a nobody so guess my opinion doesn't matter.
Depends, the hotline ampero 2 has more flexible routing and more effects, etc. This is amp specific, but I prefer the amp modeling on this over... well most amp modeling to be honest.
Probably this "monstrosity" power adapter holds itself a nice transformer that might be a way better, than these nowadays small'n'light impulse based supplies that can't handle a proper power and produces more noise than 10x MT-2 in a chain all together :D Other than that - this unit looks quite promising. Great demo!
I can't help but seeing these as the flavor of the week that will be outdated by the one that comes out next week. Will anyone remember these in 40 years like we do JCM800's and Mesa MKII's? Will they still work in 40 years? I have my doubts.
Interesting unit! Would have loved to hear some more about the cab sim side of it and maybe at least one of the more standard amp choices (5150, engl power-/fireball, rectifier) for sake of comparison. I don't know the amps you used as well as the classics...
There is not much to tell, it can process up to two channels and length (actual) can be from 61 ms to 177 ms. During IR loading software automatically performs resampling (if needed) and MPT (Minimal Phase Transform). Later can be better than MPT-IRs from IRs packs. Device can store up to 200 IRs. It can use IRs from your computer directly without storing into the device memory.
At the moment it doesn't have much to offer bass players in terms of amps, but who knows what sort of development will happen in the future. It's a new product from a relatively new company.
Sounds great, but they need more varied amp models. 16 different Friedman models, but only 2 Orange and 3 Fender? No Blackstar, PRS, Sunn, Matamp, Roland, Ampeg. Basically no bass amps at all. Seems very high gain, shredder focused at the moment. Would be a definite buy if they had more models I was interested in.
@@angrybalkon1471 yeah, I'm sure the stuff they have is great. It just seems odd to have so many Friedman models when they are missing so many whole sought after brands. Hopefully they'll expand their offering a little.
@@gregarmstrong2500 There are other clean amps and lower gain models. Even Friedmans have switchable HBE mode. We need schematics to do amp models, currently no PRS schematics available. Obtaining PRS amps for schematic tracing currently out of question. Ampeg on other hand is more likely.
@@LucifdeLuther Thanks for the response. Yeah, I can imagine a lot of this stuff is deliberately obfuscated to stop people cloning etc. Awesome piece of technology all the same and sounds unbelievable for the price.
@@LucifdeLuther for context, I mostly play doom and sludge stuff. We like bassy clean amps with lots of headroom. The doom scene tends to be pretty underrepresented in the modelling world unfortunately. Maybe we're just too picky 😅
@taylordanley Random request, but I'd like to see you try and get, and review, a SubZero Saturn-50VR. It's a tube amp that in the few minute long demos they have, they seem to be aiming it at heavy tones, but there's no other videos for it and it's at Gear4music at just over $300 (sub $400 with shipping). It seems like a high potential get.
@@TaylorDanley Awesome! You were the first person I thought of for reviewing it when I couldn't find anything thinking if anyone is going to do justice in trying to get high gain tones out of a budget amp, it's you. They only have the minute long snippets, and they're clearly going for heavy tones in those videos, but they just aren't good, but sometimes that's just what that player preferred. Plus he didn't seem to be using a boost.
19:00 I really hope so, I was slightly bummed to find they didn't have KT88s but it's still a super solid unit I've been looking forward to hearing! Also holy moly that's a lot of 12AX7s 😂
It can load only our own neural network file format (NNM). We never mentioned that it can can load NAM files. For standard NAM networks (not nano) significant computational resources are required, more than microcontrollers can offer. But for LSTM networks of small sizes it is possible. If someone trained single layer LSTM network with hidden size of 16 using NAM tools, than it can be converted into NNM format, but not WaveNet. Basically Amperium Live can run any ToneX networks, but direct import will not be possible for legal reasons as for now.

I thought it was a really dumb thing to leave out but I'm a nobody so guess my opinion doesn't matter.
So you can load neural amp modeler models into the device??
No, but it uses a very similar NNM file. They are captured/trained in the same way.
@@TaylorDanley gotcha, have you tried that feature yet? Is it spot on?
Sounds killer 🤘 Has it also a bulid in usb audio interface?
Really GASing hard for one of these! :-O
Too expensive.
US$ 350 GP-200 will slay this.
😁 JK. Nice review, man. I like that bluetooth feature.
Well it's made in Ukraine so you must support this product....😏
I think this device is more mature than GP-200
It sounds good, but are you able to get any PUNCH with that much distortion??
Amazing playing! You got yourself a new subscriber 🤘.
Would you choose this over a hotone ampero 2?
Depends, the hotline ampero 2 has more flexible routing and more effects, etc. This is amp specific, but I prefer the amp modeling on this over... well most amp modeling to be honest.
Does it do dual amps?? Sorry didnt hear anything about that😊
4 visual clip indicators that's damn handy anybody else done that?
Probably this "monstrosity" power adapter holds itself a nice transformer that might be a way better, than these nowadays small'n'light impulse based supplies that can't handle a proper power and produces more noise than 10x MT-2 in a chain all together :D Other than that - this unit looks quite promising. Great demo!
I can't help but seeing these as the flavor of the week that will be outdated by the one that comes out next week. Will anyone remember these in 40 years like we do JCM800's and Mesa MKII's? Will they still work in 40 years? I have my doubts.
Im a beginner about this things. I wanted to know what the power amp pedal is for. By the way awesome video.
What's the power amp pedal you're using my dude?
@@LucifdeLuther and how are the stock IR's?
idk why, but their website is not working in brazilian servers... such a shame
Great Video!🤘🏻
Would you recommend this unit for bass (metal genre), players too?🤔
At the moment it doesn't have much to offer bass players in terms of amps, but who knows what sort of development will happen in the future. It's a new product from a relatively new company.
@@TaylorDanley thank you!🤘🏻🎊
How is the latency playing NAM captures?
Id rather get the Amperium instead the Tone X
Does the FX loop work with Neural Network captures? Btw, I have about 1000 USB cables, I’ll send you one 😅
Would be a definite buy if they had more models I was interested in.
but they have Friedman JJ junior & Randall satan, it's awesome. As for me, I don't need many bass amps, but Agree about PRS and Ampeg.
What awesome SONG is that 2:40 - 3:56 ?!? I could only listen to the music and didn't hear anything you said 😂
That’s a demo song I made for the hertz drum vsti. All these demo songs are getting finished and put on Spotify soon
@@TaylorDanley Dude you are a fkng riffmachine 💪💪 Keep up your awesome work 🤘
@taylordanley Random request, but I'd like to see you try and get, and review, a SubZero Saturn-50VR. It's a tube amp that in the few minute long demos they have, they seem to be aiming it at heavy tones, but there's no other videos for it and it's at Gear4music at just over $300 (sub $400 with shipping). It seems like a high potential get.
Thanks for the heads up! I'll look into this.
Damn. This thing makes me hate all the money I spent on my AxeFx
yeah bro, same situation
Who has no USB cable at hand!?
I’m actually quite happy that they ship it without one. A little less waste for our planet.
19:00 I really hope so, I was slightly bummed to find they didn't have KT88s but it's still a super solid unit I've been looking forward to hearing!
Also holy moly that's a lot of 12AX7s 😂
It is! Hopefully more TOOBS come with updates. I think it's a strong initial offering.
Miss information. Just got back from talking with the guys from NAM. It is not the same (Nam) you cant load .nam file.
Man you guys dont even know. November theyre releasing guitarist simulators . 6000$ with Tesla shred bot hardware. One good note its only 1999.00 for the meta human avatar for unreal engine 5.3 lol.
I want
On an unrelated note... you sound like Owen Wilson
An'on'a'nuthr'nota' I gots the prototype of this pedal and it's water proof cause I'm a holy diver. What the hell is that song "holy diver" about anyway? It's not like there's roasty face people diving to dim deeps trying to convert leachuthur
$ = ?
500€
Sounds like it's sizzling.
That's a normal looking European adapter
I had a stereo ir cabsim from this developer, it sounded cool with a few great features. Got a little bit dissapointed when i checked the price for amperium tho
The price is fair but I was secretly hoping it was a budget unit.
The power supply can't be change due to the sockets we have in eastern europe, lmao.
Крутейшая железяка! Зроблено в Украине ! Great !
Is there a big enough market for this unit for guys that actually play the guitar. I thought these boxes were menat for amateur engineers that used the guitar as joystick to trigger their device to see if they had solve repairing its operation.
This are the best tones you’ve crafted in a long while…why? More gain. Pickups are hotter than usual and it sounds so much better
Idk I think this thing is just awesome and fun to use, something I vibe with so maybe that’s part of it too.
@@TaylorDanley this thing sound awesome for sure! If I wasn’t already an Ampero guy I would want this
@@TaylorDanleyHow smoothly do presets/scenes switch while playing music? is this similar to switching scenes in a fractal?
that constant hair-noize though... 😀
I can honestly never tell what the modeler even is doing because you only play in your …tone… of choice. =/
