Hi, many thanks for your tips, I just learnt something from your video that wasn’t directly your point , and that is how to break apart a shape, I did not realise you could put your curser over a node point and simply press “B” to break apart. Now back to the lesson. 🙂↔️
LOL I watched it 6 times, had my ole lady watch it once as well. I tried about 8 things for the code. I thought it was my ADHD...Jedi mind trick lol. Maybe next time. I really appreciate all your videos, I'm learning a ton from you on Lightburn. Thank you! I sure miss the Westbank and crawfish.
My thanks to Rich for the patience and expertise in solving the difficulties I encountered when cutting and engraving the "Our Father" design. He determined my machine origin was set in the wrong position and helped me delete sublayers to get to the "Line" setting for the engraving. Above and beyond and much appreciated.
Rich, you are a star such a good teacher. I've learned so much from you. Thanks for that. Because I have had problems with welding text. Now I know what you're saying. Thank you. I ordered the new laserMatic MK2 on Wednesday night B4 Xmas. from England and I got it on the Friday night. How brilliant is that. Leo is a star. I can't thank him enough. I really can't. You guys are brilliant. Thanks
Another great job of teaching. Matter of fact I think this is one I will remember as you were so clear and concise and most of all informative. Thank you so much for what you did on this video and what you do for the hobby. Have a great 2024.
Rich, I did something like this a while back. The lines didn't show up too good because they were so thin. So what I wound up doing was shut off the cut layer and defocussed the lens for the lines so it would make them a little wider. I ran that, then turned off that layer. Then I refocussed the lens and turned on the cut layer and cut it all out.
Wishing you and yours the VERY BEST of the Holiday Season. I have this same file. Have been making it for years. Try it sometime in acrylic, any color, and enjoy the out come. Especially if you light it
Thanks Rich! Right up my alley. This noob appreciates the settings you supplied. Made it easy to guesstimate for my 20w xtool based upon recent burns. Gave it a whirl on 3mm hobby wood. Looks great! Fragile though, and warps a bit with concavity towards the cuts so I’ll probably mount to a contrasting backer. Next I’ll try thicker ply. Warms my heart to gift this before Christmas. Glad to be a patreon!
Had been playing around with nodes just this week and learnt a lot but mainly through trial and error. Today you showed me the correct way to use "S"mooth node. Thank you. BTW - I didn't skip through the video at all... did I miss the surprise? Happy to watch it again if it's definitely there.
Thanks for another beautiful project. I made one based on your file but added a solid back layer and a thin cross outline in between. I was able to glue a white light string onto the cross outline and now have an amazing light up version. I have it out as a Christmas gift and they loved it. You're the best!
Great video Rich. I already downloaded my Patreon file and am just waiting post Christmas because of all the stuff I'm still doing. I had heard about the weld but never thought about doing a small engrave to delineate the individual letters. Awesome tip.
Thanks for the file Rich! I finally bought the file it after seeing all the FB posts and successfully cut one out on my original Roly MK1 10 watt. Would you mind giving the font used in your file? I want to tweak one or 2 spots using a separate letter to define the score lines.
Sorry, but I really don't remember the font. I think it was one of the Hansen fonts, but I don't recall. It's no longer a font in the file once it was welded.
i received a free Our Father file with the code that was offered during your live stream. the file is damaged. I was hoping to get an updated file. Thank you!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I loaded from Art Library everything looks like it should except for when I zoom in close. the words are not readable/blurry looking.
