Right off the bat: We Skeem - has beef with Scru, hides Scru's face in the thumbnail of his reaction, never mentions Scru once in the whole video. Knox Hill - has beef with Scru, is totally upfront about it, says he cares more about ERB than his personal feelings. Mad respect to you, man. Subscribed for the maturity.
Dude I thought there was something weird about Skeem's reaction, i thought it was weird off the bat when it seemed like he didnt know who Scru was, but he's the only person I've seen say Bezos won and it seemed like he went out of his way to make Bezos verses seem really good.

Yeah, Skeems reaction was Petty AF. He thought those corny lines WORKED... His breakdowns are usually good, but he lost my respect when he claimed Scru didn't write ANY of his verses, and pretended he didn't know who Scru was. So I was just looking through the comments of his reaction and someone pointed out that the outro music of the video is the beat to his Scru diss track, just to be *extra* petty. And he's going through and hearting pretty much every comment that doesn't mention Scru

At 13:57 Mansa Musa wasn’t just known for being a rich person. He was known for being THE rich person. He owned 1/3 of the entire world’s gold supply and spent so much money on his pilgrimage that he crashed the price of gold for a decade. Historians believe his net worth would be around 400 billion US dollars today, double Jeff Bezos’ net worth. The total amount of money he had is incalculable. Richest man in history
@@MKDumas1981 His net worth is not known. That $400 billion was a guess and it wasn't at a point in time where he was at his wealthiest. Mansa Musa's actual worth is incalculable.
I really appreciate the video Knox. We are all human, we don't have to like everyone and I think that's completely fine. That said, despite your feelings towards him as a person, you at least weren't disrespectful nor discredited his work/skills while trying to remain fair and focusing on the battle itself. There are not a lot of people that can or are willing to do that. It speaks a lot about you as a person. I hope you keep up the great work and maybe one day get your chance in an erb too
As a fan of Scru and Knox Hill I'm conflicted. But after that pre note, I was expecting some comments but this is still a great reaction. It's different than Scru's usual reactions but both are valuable to understand the writing.
Yeah I felt the same too; I’m a Scru fan and was looking forward to Knox’s reaction the most because I knew he’d get all the references that others miss. But unlike others, I didn’t pick up on any hate by Knox, so I appreciate him giving Scru his props where he deserved it. But I’m also nosey and really want to know what caused the dislike of Scru… just sayin! 😁
Knox you really are a class act. You were up front about your feelings for Scru, yet still remaining impartial and respectful in your reaction. Just shows how professional you are as a creator and a musician. Mad respect, bro.
Just a Random Thought: American Football is one of the few major sports not to have an athlete featured in an ERB... And Knox looks a little bit like Tom Brady.
Even funnier fun fact: Camels DO store water in their humps, but is in the FORM of fat. Because when they metabolize those fats that have lots of C-H carbon-hydrogen connections with the O2 from the air they breathe the resulting products are C02 and H20, which means burning those fats produces A LOT of water.
The instrument Mansa is playing is called a Kora. It's a 21 stringed instrument with a long hardwood neck and a resonator body made up of the gourd of the calabash (Lagenaria siceraria). It's traditionally played by the Manlinke people of West Africa (Mali, Senegal, The Gambia, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau). The Kora is traditionally associated with Royalty, nobility and religious practices. Interestingly, musicians often use the Kora to accompany narratives, recitations and songs about famous people. In this segment of the rap, Mansa is playing his Kora to accompany the backstory (the 'blue origin') he's narrating about Bezos, so he's playing exactly the right instrument in exactly the right context.
I actually find myself more on Scru's side to be quite honest but props to u Knox for knowing how to convey impartiality. Speaks volumes on your character. I find most people we quarrel with share more in common with us than we think
@@justnate7196 I personally feel it’s exactly what he said. Keep in mind Knox is friends/affiliated with Crypt, Grizzy Hendrix, Duane tv, etc. All people who Scru has had bumps in the road with. It’s been a lot that’s happened, even things that haven’t been literally “said” or revealed to the public. As a fan of many sides of RUclips, I appreciate the maturity of Knox here. Because you won’t like everybody, but it’s still good to support without bashing their character
Knox admitting he isn't a fan of Scru but then being honest and saying the character he portrayed won (which he definitely did) shows high character 👏👏
As an admirer of both yourself and Scru Face, I am glad to see artists respecting the art and the talent behind it. Creative differences can easily be taken to a personal level. ✌ Great break-down, as always.
Yea it’s not a creative difference it’s more of a I don’t like the guy for all the shady shit he’s pulled behind the scenes and how he’s treated others. I’ll just leave it at that and move forward
I only know both Scru and Knox as reactors and don't know what the history is but it clearly didn't come between giving an unbiased reaction to the battle. That's extremely respectable. Love the breakdowns as always. Just as a note, though, Mansa is more of a title, similar to "King". Musa would be more accurate for his actual name. :)
Heavily appreciate the unbiased breakdown despite your beef with Scru. It can be really easy to give into the pre-conceived notions and grudges you have against a person, and to see you not only give the usual great breakdown you always deliver, but also complimenting Scru’s delivery and rapping ability is a nice relief And I agree that ERB has been on a whole new depth with the last few in terms of bars and references. They’re always good with it obviously but it feels like there’s a lot more. Love to see it
The part of Mansa inflating the economy is even crazier. The man managed to drop the price of gold in THE WHOLE MEDITERRANEAN FOR A DECADE OR SO and that is something that is considered pretty valid by historians
@@RikFTK he's also great! I just feel like Knox catches more consistently and I like hearing "musician talk" because I'm more fluent in that compared to history lol. He goes deeper than bar breakdowns into cadence, vocal control, vowel sounds, pitch etc. So many assume rapping is rhyming and I love that Knox talks about the full spectrum of what makes a rapper.
You have to respect Knox for not only admitting that he isn't a fan of Scru but still giving us a great breakdown and acknowledge the crazy bars that Mansa Musa had. P.s. "Pablo Picasso Vs. Bob Ross" could be a good one to breakdown too, just saying.
I JUST thought of this, but that part where Bezos says . . . "If I wanted to waste my life on desert spice, I'd watch Dune." . . . reminds me of the one with James Bond vs Austin Powers, where the original James Bond (Sean Connery) says . . . "If I wanted shitty acting in my action film, I'd go and watch Taken." LIam Neeson is a good actor.
Honestly, I'm a fan of Knox and Scru, but I dont usually look at socials or drama stuff a lot. So I have no clue what happened to make you not trust him, but i appreciate the impartiality nonetheless, great job 👍
From what I can gather, when it comes to personal levels, it seeme Scru has a habit of not bring the most dedicated individual to work with when it comes to business partnerships and friendships. Supposedly, many felt he had buddied up with them specifically to ride on/gain clout and fame by using associations with them before ditching them once he got popular enough from said associations. Naturally, doing this too often can accidentally burn a lot of bridges if you aren't the most diplomatic when ties are severed. From what I could find, this wasn't a terribly big deal until he got into a similar situation with Crypt, who happened to be huge, and a bit of a fan favorite, among the online rapping community. There was some back and forth between the two as well, supposedly, in their music and interactions, that left a sour taste in the mouths of both camps. Scru also apparently had some hot takes concering the rap scene that supposedly rubbed some people the wrong way. This is all predominantly what I could find with a surface level cursory search about the topic, and in no way do I claim it is all 100% true. Take it with a grain of salt, but I believe it is a modest summary of the situation.
@@bentowers3614 thank you for a somewhat helpful answer been a scru fan for a while and thought "oh god what horrible thing did he do" lol Seems lime drama is almost inherent in the online rap game so eh
@@taylortodd9881 No problem! Glad I could help. Drama is inherent in everything, since no two people are alike enough to be perfectly in agreement 100% of the time. That said, I personally have no stake in the matter, like many here, I'm sure. I find both gents to be skilled at what they do and I support them all equally. End of the day, we're all here to enjoy ourselves and have a good time, disagreements or no.
Usually RUclipsrs don’t beef without reason, and if you see behind the scenes very rarely RUclipsrs will make their dislikes of people public unless it’s something really bad. The fact that numerous people seem to dislike Scru probably means he did something bad that they are all aware of, but is likely a) something controversial where their fans may be a little split on with who is in the right or b) an issue that happened where they don’t have any proof that is strong enough for the public eye. I’d say there’s a 90% chance Scru is probably a very bad person behind the scenes, but still I wouldn’t assume just in case. Also a good chance the controversy is about Scru not putting the most effort into group projects, and instead using other people to get ahead and then abandon them. I believe he was with the group ‘Crypt’ which brought Scru from small to hundreds of thousands of subscribers, then left and started dissing Crypt. If I’m not mistaken (can’t find it now) Knox and Scru did a collab years ago and apparently Knox may have put more effort into it than Scru did. (This is based off other people’s comments so I’m not sure) Finally, I think there was a whole controversy of a rapper calling another rapper a ‘coon’ (slur) but I can’t find much stuff of this online Don’t stop enjoying both of their music, but I would say Knox is **likely** in the right here with the majority of other RUclipsrs/rappers. There are also other possible controversies which aren’t as deep, but the whole thing is kinda shrouded in mystery where neither side has actually stated their exact problems with the other. I just suspect the majority is right so I’m personally on Knox’s side. Sorry for the yap fest :)
I'm pretty sure that the "feed your whole country for the cost of a cup of coffee" line is also a reference to how Amazon sources Arabica coffee beans for their house brand from Africa. Remember, Bezos hasn't heard Musa's story, so he doesn't know that Musa didn't bow to the sultan. Rick Moranis was awesome in *Little Shop of Horros*. The leak is of John Wick. Presumably the next ERB will have John Wick in itl
Honestly I'm so impressed, so many people that have beef act like stubborn children but you're the bigger man putting it aside for the content and the fans. Respect Knox 👏
I'm super bummed to find out that two of my favorite reactors/RUclips rappers don't get along, but I'm relieved at how professional you were & how after your disclaimer didn't speak bad of him. I hope Scru would do the same if you're ever in an ERB.
I am genuinely amazed you caught 'milliravi' on your first watch. I've seen several people either miss the capitalisation completely or not get the reference. This is why your breakdowns are always the best. Though I'm sad you didn't comment at all on the 'gold bars you can't escape from', Scru was super proud of that line in his reaction
That wasn't Highrez, it was Zach Sherwin, who has played Alexander the Great, Sherlock Holmes, Stephen Hawking and other characters with some of the flows. Apparently he is going to be John Wick in the next battle against an unknown opponent. I cannot be more excited, MC Napkins is my absolute favorite of all ERB rappers
At the end of Behind the scenes for Musa vs Bezos it's pretty much confirmed he's going to battle John Rambo. I was personally hoping for Agent 47, but hey, I'll take it.
I definitely appreciate your honesty in disclosing your personal feelings about Scru unlike We Skeem who did his reaction without mentioning Scru name once and did not say he and Scru don’t get along
The "skills" line at the end is also because you can link other apps to Alexa devices via what are called "Skills" in the Alexa app. So Alexa literally has Skills
The background of Musa in his second verse (I think his first also) is the Djinguereber Mosque found in Timbuktu, which Musa commissioned during his reign. I learned a lot of cool historical stuff from this battle :)
It's awesome seeing you put your passion for both history and music to good use. I dare say it's made you one of ERB's best reactors. Thanks for sharing your insight with us. As for your distaste for SFJ, that's understandable given the circumstances you've described. I must agree with everyone who says you've handled it well by being an adult. Thanks for that as well. Also, if ERB is starting to expand and put reactors on it's videos, I sincerely hope they bring you on sooner than later. Best of luck in getting the call.
When it comes to ERB reactions i go to Scru for a more, comedic, entertaining, sort of break down, not to say Knox is not entertaining, cause he is, but in another way. I go to Knox for very deep in depth break downs, and even for learning more, i like em both.
No way man. I would rather watch a good rapper break down the bars other than some dude fake reacting and screaming into the camera. I guess its just preference
@@trium1554 it really is a preference. I watched them both reacting erb and I'm more into Knox's reactions since he's knowledgeable when breaking it down. Even though he breaks it down in a scholarly manner it's still entertaining. Scru on the other hand was like screaming etc and not breaking it down properly but yeah I'm a fan of them both
@@S3NDP13 We Skeem was also extremely petty in his video he went out of his way to say that when in any other reaction he didn't. Also ERB was in Scru's comments for his reaction to the video. IF he didn't write his lines I feel like they would of said something.
37:58 Thats Zach Sherwin...and knowing ERB I'm guessing we just got a hint on what the next battle will be. Zach Sherwin the ERB lyrical god as John Wick? Here's hoping 🤞🤞🤞

Strange because you and scru are two of the only Artist Reactors that I watch!! (Mostly I watch Teachers and Historians react to all kinds of things) But Fantastic for being honest and true about whatever your disagreement with him is.
Knox's base general knowledge is genuinely impressive especially that MILLIRAVI catch, I caught most of it and Scru was on point but Knox misses nothing. Also despite the disclaimer that you and Scru do not get on you were unbiased and gave all due props which not a lot of people would do!
Bruh… you think he’s just pulling general knowledge and not researching the shit out of this. I appreciate the effort to break down every line and catch everything, but let’s not pretend it’s ‘general knowledge’.
In reference to the Battlestar Galatica song, Jeff Bezos's favorite song was off the soundtrack. He's also a big sci-fi fan as well considering he literally picked up the Expanse when it got cancelled cause he loved the show.
Did Knox really let the video play about 5 seconds and broke down the rhyme scheme, word meaning, cadence, and religious teachings as well? Bro your musical knowledge and ear are phenomenal.
Awesome job Knox!! Props to you for being impartial and still making a great reaction. While a lot of reactors unsurprisingly think that Mansa Musa won this (and many think he bodied Bezos)... I honestly think this was a pretty close battle. I might give a slight edge to Mansa, but I greatly appreciate Lloyd's goofy portrayal.
I love how we can be a man and settle our differences and still react for the fans who are here for the bars being a fan of both I was looking forward for this all week great react as always keep the work
Dude I’ve always respected your ability to be unbiased in these ERBs. The fact that you were able to remain unbiased despite not being a fan of one of the people who played a character in the video? I didn’t think it was possible to respect you any more than I already did, but goddamn. Way to be the epitome of unbiased.
Best breakdown for ERBs I've seen so far. Gonna watch the back catalog. Have been searching for good breakdowns for a long time now. Thank you very much!
24:11 Little Shop of Horrors. Was a 1982 play then a 1986 musical film starring Rick Moranis. Ellen Greene, and Levi Stubbs. Also with appearances by several stars including Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold (Gina and Pam from the show Martin), John Candy, and Jom Belushi.
Allah Mode - this also sounds like some sort of cheat code that you could use in the game for a "God Mode". Kinda nice way to end this, because it can be understood as "you can't touch me". Beside that, because Musa was giving the gold to the poor people, he might be treated as some sort of God too by those people.
Here is something that everyone should know about Mansa Musa, he was not a man of wealth so much so a man who distributed wealth of different kinds, he helped spread knowledge and charity to multiple places during his whole journey to mekkah. every city he has been through had gained something because of him. He was a devout Muslim who aimed to please Allah.
By the way, props to your maturity man. Politicians and haters take note, this is what impartial, fair, honest, mature and decent looks like. Lessons so many people currently need to learn. Knox, you put on a clinic in acting like an adult with this one, kudos.
I've been watching Scru's reacts for about two years now and seeing him in a ERB is fantastic. His delivery has weight and power to them and he brings that battle rap energy to the video!
Gotta say, very impressed on how well read and educated you are and on how knowledgeable you on a lot of references old, new, practical and obscure. On top of that being good with rap and critique, and of course as everyone else mentioned, your honest and unbiased professionalism shows how impressive you are on this platform and as a person. Mad props to you, man! 👍
To be honest, there are quite a few rappers out there who I am not a fan of as a person but I still like their music. Still, I admire your professionalism Knox in handling your particular beef. Also the person in the leak was John Wick.
Knox looking real nice on the social commentary. You also caught a lot that basically everyone else missed, perfect reaction Btw the movie/musical was Little Shop of Horrors, where a giant alien man-eating plant is raised by a nerdy and softspoken florist named Seymour. The plant's name is Audrey 2, and it's most iconic line spoken (and sung) is "Feed me Seymour"
First of all, mad respect to you Knox Hill for being honest and still breaking down bars. Second, i can back that all story about Amazon up. I have worked for them. Horrible how they treat their works. Great reaction. Much love.❤️❤️
Big ups for not being biased and hating scru’s lyrics/character, personally I’m not a huge fan of scru but I have to give props to him when he deserves it
@Knox Hill the instrument Mansa’s playing in the background is a west African harp-type instrument called a kora. Buku Broux uses the kora pretty exclusively.
As a delivery driver for Amazon I can say that most of the drivers that piss in bottles are just not that great at managing their days. However, I am from Ohio so that would go for similar states. Now for lets say New York city/LA/Miami or any other major city, they are a completely different situation that I personally have not experienced so I can not talk on that. But the real problem for the delivery drivers is the fact that on average we are delivering more packages/stops than FedEx/UPS but get paid much less. Additionally, we have no actual support so if someone gets injured they are screwed. And they happen to "lose" stuff all the time but then blame the drivers when they don't give us the packages to begin with.
i didnt know a lot of folks had beef with scru. not until i saw skeem's.....um........"breakdown" of this ERB. so it's good that you can acknowledge that you have some beef with him and yet still be professional enough to judge this battle fairly. so mad respect to you, my dude.
I love how you break down everything and catch a lot of stuff. I was looking for a reactor like that, made me understand stuff I'd really never catch, keep up the good work man. And please do more of these for other battles!!
The only reactor I’ve seen who caught the milliravi bar. Some noticed the caps but didn’t know the reference. And Bezos defines the term as “a numerical error of over $1 million”
I'm gonna comment 1 minute and 30 seconds into the video. I'm a big fan of Scru's reactions. His energy is contagious, and it's part of the reason I watch Knox, too; that contagious hype that he displays when reacting. Though I've also heard some stuff about Scru, that I'm sure Knox might be alluding to, or maybe he's alluding to other stuff we legit don't know about. At the end of the day, though, nothing but respect for Knox putting that difference aside and reacting to this for us cause when I saw Scru was on this ERB, I questioned if Knox was gonna react at all. I'm glad he did. He did that for us.

Great reaction, love the breakdown and keeping it real! Also the Lord of the Rings bar probably goes even deeper, cause Amazon got the pretty expensive deal for the LotR series that is in production currently.
I GENUINELY learn more from your reactions than i did in history class or most of my time on the internet, not to mention every reaction HITS on the nails head its crazy. Also the feed me Seymour line is Little Shop of Horrors an absolute classic
THIS IS THE BEST BREAKDOWN of this rap battle that I have watched to date. And the fact you can breakdown “MILLIRAVI”! off RIP,… Impressive. I respect and appreciate your candor, your honesty, and professionalism. Worth the wait.

Big respect to not keep it biased like I’ve seen others. Thats why you’re one of the best and I always look forward to your reacts and the input you put into your videos
In the behind the scenes they also tease the upcoming ERB in december. There they only show the outline of the person but it looked like Rambo. So we can presume that the next battle will be John Wick vs. John Rambo and that we only have to wait a few sleepless nights until then :D

To add, when animals (yes, including humans) lose weight via burning fat, we exhale it in the form of CO2 and H2O.
@@etowngftddummy that's pretty cool.

It can be really easy to give into the pre-conceived notions and grudges you have against a person, and to see you not only give the usual great breakdown you always deliver, but also complimenting Scru’s delivery and rapping ability is a nice relief
And I agree that ERB has been on a whole new depth with the last few in terms of bars and references.

Not just the Mediterranean, the damn silk road felt some of the effect man.
Yea that's kinda what happened. A man in West Africa made silk more expensive than gold for a few years because he saturated the economy so much

I JUST thought of this, but that part where Bezos says . . .
"If I wanted to waste my life on desert spice, I'd watch Dune."
. . . reminds me of the one with James Bond vs Austin Powers, where the original James Bond (Sean Connery) says . . .
"If I wanted shitty acting in my action film, I'd go and watch Taken."
LIam Neeson is a good actor.
@@bentowers3614 Thanks, appreciate it

(This is based off other people’s comments so I’m not sure)
Finally, I think there was a whole controversy of a rapper calling another rapper a ‘coon’ (slur) but I can’t find much stuff of this online
Don’t stop enjoying both of their music, but I would say Knox is **likely** in the right here with the majority of other RUclipsrs/rappers.

Allah Mode - this also sounds like some sort of cheat code that you could use in the game for a "God Mode". Kinda nice way to end this, because it can be understood as "you can't touch me". Beside that, because Musa was giving the gold to the poor people, he might be treated as some sort of God too by those people.
Expect most of them were also Muslims so not really
Here is something that everyone should know about Mansa Musa, he was not a man of wealth so much so a man who distributed wealth of different kinds, he helped spread knowledge and charity to multiple places during his whole journey to mekkah. every city he has been through had gained something because of him. He was a devout Muslim who aimed to please Allah.
