    NEW INFO AFTER CHANGES & GAMEPLAY (updated guide coming soon):
    - Temporal Beacon now heals for 80% of arcane damage and is supposedly no longer split, but self healing is reduced to 40%. Hotfix on 12/2/23 also reduced Arcane Explosion healing by 80%
    - Upfront healing on Regeneration was halved on launch, so even more reason to rely on a good offensive arcane spell rotation
    - Entangled Causality has been completely removed for now - can use fire & frost spells freely without damage penalty
    - Arcane Wands do not currently heal through beacon (hopefully this gets adjusted because tooltip for beacon specifies "all arcane damage dealt by the caster")
    - Living Flame is Spellfire damage which counts as both fire and arcane so will proc Temporal Beacon for massive healing when under multiple targets
    - Regeneration not quite as mana intensive as expected (8 casts possible in a row at level 18 with 1k mana)
    - Temporal Beacon activates instantly so you can start the heal channel and instantly move if you don't need the initial heal on the target just the beacon - useful for putting beacon on your tank just before pull and topping off with a drink
    - Currently, any mage casting arcane spells within range of someone with a temporal beacon buff will proc healing off their damage. This seems a bit busted and I expect it will get adjusted

    I'm extremely new to WOW and playing with a pretty hardcore group. Your style of presentation is so hopeful in learning rotations and the "why" behind the "what" you're supposed to be doing. Thanks so much!

    Seems kinda like how discipline priest works in retail except with way more focus on mana.

    I find it surprising how many comments I read that dislike the idea of mages being able to heal. Mages are typically capable of controlling magic in their world settings. Which would include causing damage and provide healing. Personally, I enjoy being able to play with something different from what we have had so far in SoD.

      And yet on Ascension they've been doing this for like 3-5 years ... and it works fine there...
      The Purists are ridiculous imo.

      I'll add by saying that I'd love a mage tank kinda like abjuration magic in d&d. Mage healers with time magic sound badass, I'll roll one when I'll be home from work

    Arcane mage healing sounds so big brain, I can't wait to try it out in dungeons and raids! I'm playing classic for the first time just because of how cool it sounds 😊 Thanks for your guides, i learned a lot from your casting tips video

      It's basically like lifesteal glass cannon mage, vamp for 40% of arcane dmg on yourself and 80% on your friends, I'm in love with it lol. Welcome to classic glad you are enjoying it :D

    Rewind time is lay on hands on a 30 second cooldown, raids might have 1 or 2 mages take those runes and just keep the buff alive on the tank while they dps. The loot will flow like spice.

    Temporal Beacon has been updated. Allegedly no longer split, 40% is now 80%, and Tangled Causality is no more, but self healing is reduced by 50%.
    And the upfront healing on Regeneration has been cut in half.

    Worth considering for the leg slot is Living Flame, which does Spellfire damage (i.e. Arcane/Fire), and might be possible to buff using AB.

      LF will be great at stacks VS Arcane Surge. Surge won't be used much in PvE unless they do somethign with it. LF benefiting Arcane will be massive. Missiles takes wayy too much mana VS AB and the boss fights will be buffed, thus mana will 100% be an issue.

      @@Crix_Gaming surge can be used when you are very low on mana to gain the 300% mana regen or whatever the numbers are, if that stacks with evocate in a similar way to innervate it will 99% be the best choice.

      @1776huckleberry You could be right, nobody knows yet. But IMO then you're sacrificing an entire rune slot to use the ability once a fight over that long cooldown. Versus how much value dmg/healing you're getting from LF every minute.
      This is also assuming the fights aren't much longer than they were when I played the demo at about 2min long. Hoping they're longer fights tho. Either way, we'll find out tomorrow.

      yolo why not as long as I can counterspell it :D I really think warrs do need more tho.. don't even come close to being able to hold threat with this kind of healing esp at this level. I was hoping for some like heroic leap or thunderbolt or somethin too

    I kinda feel like...this is just Blizzard copying Sage from FFXIV. Temporal Beacon is just Kardia, Regeneration is Diagnosis and Mass Regeneration is Prognosis.

    It doesn't seem like it's going to be viable vs. all the other true healers. The spells cost way too much mana

    I speculate that clearcasting buff hunting will be the choice to pop up mass regeneration 69% mana cost or 43% in single target regeneration otherwise is to risky to sit with lower 31% and 57%respectively mana when you have 10 ppls in raid in your group ...

      I would AOE first if talent tree possible in order to get clearcasting proc probably but remains the problem of conservation ( blizzard will be my nr1 generator to conserve and proc clearcasting )

      clearcasting in it's current state only affects damage abilities, so it wouldn't work w/ mass regen or regen

    do you think we'll be able to clearcast arcane surge? if so, i think spirit may go up in stat prio quite a bit. maybe even over int? thoughts?

      Arcane Surge doesn't have a mana cost, per se, but it just consumes your remaining mana, so I don't think Clearcasting would have any effect here

    Mages could be support healer like druid but you should never have more then 1 mage healer in the raid.

      It definitely feels like having 4 dps with heals in dungys so far, clear speed seems a bit faster when I'm healing and just nuking everything, just have to top off between each pull. Also the fact that mages heal each others beacons right now seems kinda of broken, if in a 10m with a couple mages casting arcane spells, 1 beacon on tank benefits from all of it

    Mana cost on regen is wayyy too much. Feels so bad to heal dm at 18. Feels like every pull i have to chug water vs priest being able to down rank and have a beer.

      Ya I've noticed you basically have to tell your tank that mage healers need to top off full mana between each pull. Then just throw regen on the tank right before the fight and take a quick sip to top off, drop a good living flame under everything, and then rotate Arcane Blast and Arcane Explosion depending on how much mana / healing you need. Arcane Blast much more mana efficient but you can still get a lot of healing through as well as mad dps with Arcane Explosion on big groups. You'll be top dps, top dmg, top threat, everyone will hate you but you'll carry the dungeon lol.

    This mechanic was for smite healing for disc priest. I like the gameplay but I don’t really think mages should be healers.
    I’m upvoting shaman tanks and lock tanks (metamorphosis needs to be broken down to 2-3 runes)
    I down vote mage healers and rogue tanks.

      Well is exactly that, probably the current character class population for sure is full of mages /wars/Rogues so it make sense to recuperate convert mages into healing class from this point of view additional to game play change

    I play mage and I promise you right now the only time I will be using a healing ability is for myself, I won't be healing anyone because I am a damn mage not a healer. If I get harrassed to heal all the time because too many people want to be tanks then i guess I will just quit

    Oh that's right you can't use it to heal yourse4lf because if you do your dead anyways because all of your damage is nerfed by 50% for 5 mins after using the heals! This game is going to suck so bad, I really think we are all about to waste a couple of days of our lives for no reason at all
