honestly really like SoD so far. I have 2 25s and I'm currently levelling my third and afterwards probably a fourth and a fifth, too. It's just so much fun to discover how the runes change the classes as we k now and love them
Im having trouble deciding on a main. I got a mage to 19 but am not enjoying it much, and a rogue, druid, and lock at 10 or 11. I'm basically pushing myself to finish the mage to focus on the lock or rogue after.
I’m loving Season of Discovery. It has been such a long time since I have seen Brill be full of players. Seeing groups running around the Barrens again has also been great. The nostalgia has kept me coming back. It helps that the runes do a good job at making classes feel a bit more fun.
Staggered levelling and focusing WPvP into one zone are such great ideas. Makes the game feel so fresh and adding PvP goals works well with the WPvP system.
Additional point, hanging out in Thunder Bluff and Darnassus has a chance at a useful leveling world buff. Those aren't bad places to just have your hearthstone set at max.
Good point for TB, its not too far off Org either so this is a pretty good shout. Darnassus still feels pretty out of the way for alliance unfortunately. Love the city, but man is it just not well placed
The buff lasts 2 hours and give you multiple stats improvement and mote importantly, +20% move speed which is huge for the classes with no mobility at all. Just try to don't die during those 2 hours or you will lose it.
going to create an SOD character this week while im on vacation, been messing around on cata classic and miss the old days for sure. I may be alone on this.. but i wish they would have some servers of JUST vanilla content but would have LFD and LFR queue ups. We aren't 15-16 anymore and able to just skip school to continue the grind. I would love to have some actual time to enjoy doing 40man Naxx, ZG, BWL, or finally getting to experience killing Rag in a full raid. Every time i could finally get to that fun end game content it was on to the next expansion.
I wish I knew the Meta quest was bugged so I didn't waste two days scouring the earth for it lol. Was even using Unending Breath and looking in the Seas!!

I asked my friend how to not be a ghost And he said just talk to the lady and that’s all I needed to do all along but I was really running around teldrassil looking for my body like what the hell this game sucks
you can carry a finished supply shipment AND an unfinished at the same time. so pick up something that you can fill with your own profession, complete it, then pick up another thats unfinished with cheap materials needed and you can hand in the completed one, go to the auction house and buy what you need for the second one (if you cant fill it yourself), fill that up and turn it in. much faster than just carrying 1 at a time
Thunder Bluff is the horde hub right now because of the world buff dropping there. It also has excellent layout. Bank, mailbox, AH, forge are all really close to one another.
The respec cost is only 10 silver the first time anyway. But I agree with dualspec since we can *change* runes whenever we like. Would also be nice to swap spec whenever we like for that sake.
@@spacedog2980 yes of course. But hence that ease of access to change into your offspec anywhere aka dualspec would be a huge QoL change just for that reason. Granted respeccing is cheap - its only QoL at this point
SOD has been really fun so far imo. Some of that is my classic guild getting back together after falling apart at the end of tbc and playing horde for the fist time, but I really like the idea of adding more horizontal content which was the one thing I liked about playing lost ark. After the changes the Ashenvale event is a lot more fun too, ya sometimes it's not even a pvp event but some of them are really fun with escalating skirmishes leading up to the event and while not perfect, the open world pvp performance is significantly better on the dragonflight client. Having not really spent any time in Ashenvale in the past except for getting the light of Elune it's pretty cool to see the zone popping off with tons of players roaming around and with the mount obtained at friendly reputation it doesn't take long to get and significantly improves the open world enjoyment.
"I don't know if Gnomes getting +15 Engineering has any significant impact yet" Gnomes are actually able to craft and use Goblin Jumper Cables at the current profession cap, which I would call pretty significant

Agreed. Level 24 on my first character atm. I feel like each phase will be 90% leveling and slowly getting good gear, and then when I'm at a strong level to feel viable in raid/pvp, the cap will be raised 😂
Yep right with ya bud. My 18 month old has RSV and my 6 year old has strep throat. Game time unfortunately even less the last few days and I just hit level 18 this morning when it was nap time for my daughter.
You can make a tonne of gold from fishing currently. You have to be somewhat adventerous and fish in areas like Northern Stranglethorn, Desolace or Duskwallow. The healing and mana pots are selling for crazy prices (around 1g each on my server) The bolts of silk and heavy leather are currently end game mats so they are selling for way more than normal as well. I'm currently banking all the bolts of mageweave and thick leather for next phase when they skyrocket in value. Even the firefin snapper are selling for a good amount. Bags and boe greens are just icing on top of all that.
Video triggered me when I saw the waylaid supply crate for minor wizard oil. I started an alt to level enchanting on. Had 3 toons camping 3 enchanting vendors for the recipe... Only to find it's not in the game yet! What a waste of what precious little free time I have! I can't believe Blizzard would include these boxes if they cannot be satisfied yet. Kind of ruined the great fun I was having up to that point, which included the negative of only having one waylaid at a time into a positive by playing the game "my way." Oh and I too was in the camp of folks who accidentally auto-turned them in before realizing what was going on. Worst thing is that I at one point got to town with a completed and a non-completed one. I went to turn in the completed one, having already bought the items for the non-completed one, only to have them both turned in :*(
Darnassus is probably my hearth at max. It has an AH, gets you the two hour buff, and it's close enough to Auberdine and Menethil anyway. But you can always just plant an alt in Stormwind too and help summon your guild and then they summon you if you're going there.
I am doing lower-level quests zones that I didn't do that are green to get gold but the ones that I'm keeping are the ones with max XP those are not being handed in as soon as level cap comes in. Those quests will pop me a couple of levels real fast and I can continue ahead of the mob.
It depends, i wish we had a PTR to test upcoming runes and maybe the pvp event so we don't run into the really fast reworks we are experiencing rn They can just add the runes to a test vendor and leave the actual unlocking method as a secret for launch

By the way, if anyone gets the supplies for the minor wizard oil and you are planning on always filling up your crates if you find another one while having that minor wizard oil one get rid of it. You cannot actually obtain the minor wizard, oil and season of discovery currently as none of the enchanting trainers sell the recipe.
Thats good to know, but you should get rid of every supply, and restore them all at once every 7 days, that way u get them all nicely packed in ur mail and don't have to bother with just carrying once

2:00 You don't have to go back to town and hand in crate before you can get another if u fill it out grinding you can get a second crate I've had 2nd and 3rd crates If u get lucky with a 15 bandage one etc fill it and keep grinding u will get another crate drop. Also at lvl 25 you get higher gold for questing like at other endgame lvl caps would be good idea imo to dung grind on an alt then do lvl 16+ quests. Pre 25 stonetalon quest 25s Post 25 stonetalon quest 1g 43s
Most players will not have the mats on them to complete it out in the field, so most are only carrying 1 at a time. Given the WIDE variety of boxes, it's more likely you don't have the mats than do.
One thing I highly recommend is saving at least 20 quests that are located fairly close together. I plan to have those quests completed but not turned in so when the next phase launches I can go from Red Ridge to Dusk Wood to Storm Wind to Wtlands.Just handing in quests and gaining tons of experience rapidly off the bat.
How about Darn as a hearth? You'd have all the benefits of a major city and the flight to Astraanar isn't too bad. You'd have to take 2 boats to SW but other than that I don't see much of a down side.. or just roll mage for teles. :)

faction balancing is the greatest thing ever blizzard did for pvp servers. Total unballance is exactly the reason why i play wotlk on PVE. All EU servers were either horde or alliance where PVP totally loose its purpose.
I love level cap. Its such a great yet simple change that makes game that much better. It makes you gear up at each path of leveling. I hope it lasts long enough between phases.

There’s RUclips videos that detail it better but essentially you swim from the harbor to the edge near where the murlocs are and log out near the shoreline. Report your character stuck and if done right it will spawn you in front of IF and save you a long walk.
Im controlling large portions of the auction house market place trying to make that big boy gold before season 2 making pretty much 30-50gold a day atm almost completely afk I think the more gold I have now the better off Ill be in the next bracket. As for questing for gold I think you better off Getting 20 level 25+ quests completed and not handing in until phase 2 drops to get 25 to 26 and a half ish in first 10 mins and be ahead of the curve.
I remember in like 2008 saying I'd love a server with caps at 19/29/39 etc with dungeons turned into raids (I always wanted a WC raid) and people said that was stupid. Wish they didn't delete the old forums so I could dig that gem up.
The fact there was no PTR I think made the experience so much better. Sure, a lot of things were broken and we didn’t know anything about the new content - but that’s the magic of it all
First time in classic I was levelling in conjunction with my professions because of the commission rep. What a tiny game changing addition, thoroughly enjoying my casual arse.
I’d enjoy it more if I knew how long the phase is. I just hit 25 today and that looming anxiety of must clear all content in 2/3 weeks is there. Want to be able to do the raid a few times at least
The raid resets every 3 days so if that helps. I figure it will last plenty long enough but sense that's just speculation I say enjoy it while you can. At least you actually made it to max and don't have a ton of alts in there teens lol

Hey my friend, regarding your comment, that Gold is not a problem. You miss the inflation here, if everyone gets more gold (which everyone does) then all items will just be more pricy in the AH and in the end it doesnt matter if everyone has to pay 1s or 1g for their stuff.
If anyone’s interested in playing mage. Living flame/living bomb is stupid once you get to do dungeons. Just keep your bombs up and you basically just make everything go BOOM. I’m only 20 but I’m doubling lvl 25s damage by just making everything go boom then lighting fires under peoples asses with living flame. It’s extremely fun and broken for pve
Arcane is also a lot of fun as the new “healer spec” feels funny healing with a wand through damage after stacking regenerations on your team and well frost is just 🤷🏻♂️ same frost as usual

Ngl stagger level+ pvp faction lock is so healthy for the game because it respects players with less time to spend in a good way without ripping active players from their fun.
I've been playing since the 3rd day that sod was out and I've yet to get invited into an active guild or see any dungeon runs happening. Playing on lava lash pacific night time.
Pretty sure there are actually 3 tiers of waylaid supplies. Everyone says there are 2 tiers but there are 3 variety of boxes for each type. For example there are boxes for copper bars, bronze bars, and silver bars. I would assume this means there are 3 tiers of box right now
Pretty much impossible to get into a raid without serious gold on wild growth. 2 runs in the dungeons to get enough gear to make 20-40 a breeze.... yup super seriously good content so far.

Generally everyone I've interacted with in game has been loving it. I haven't seen much negativity. It's brought back the social aspect which is a big thing missing in recent years. People are just giving with a new fit
The permadeath thing should have a softcore version with just a 3-7 day CD to make sure that the whole world always have people playing... Damn i really want to go back
Don´t know really. Just started yesterday with my wife and we see a lot of people leveling still in the starting zones. But i dont think so cuz of small lvl cap a lot of people will be lvling alts.
As someone whos become very jaded with gaming and has reduced my hours sod is nice but i think if i was gaming like i did 4 years ago id get bored soon
As a gnome warrior the 165 lets me ress people. Also the goblin jumper cables seem to not break in 7 for 7 with resses so i could just be lucky for now
I wish i knew i was gonna wait 3 weeks for a friend to catch up in wow hc and keep dying 7 times and to this day still hasn't caught up to do RFC... edit: I made a new account and reached level 40 going for 60 probably will reach that level before that friend reaches level 16 lol
what you can do is to save all of those quests from 23 to 25 and then a week or maybe a few days before the level caps gets raised you complete all those quests but do not hand it in. instead let it sit nice ajnd comfy until the game has been patched. this way you don't have to worry about people questing in ashenvale or duskwood or similar areas. you just hand all the big quests in various areas and on you go to level 40! :3
Number 1, that project ascension was just a better version than the retail paid garbanzo beans blizzard shoved down our throats, with season 9 just around the corner we can be sure to have all our classless needs met on a proper server!
Just dont understand how after 20 years they still cant balance this version of the game. It's already broken with few classes towering of the others and making the majority of the classes irrelevant at pvp and only serve as pve utility classes. Over it already.
i am in love again :P played for over 10 years, al went downhill when kids started to whine about it being too hard (tbc) but this is how wow was meant to be, hard enough to barely solo the "end game" quests, with some needing to be in a group there's one *major* issue tho bots .....
SOD is the best thing blizzard has ever done. I LOVE the staggered leveling so I can play some alts and not feel like I have to no life rush 60.

horde's extra flightpath is balanced out in that you have to death run for an hour to get to it

They can just add the runes to a test vendor and leave the actual unlocking method as a secret for launch

By the way, if anyone gets the supplies for the minor wizard oil and you are planning on always filling up your crates if you find another one while having that minor wizard oil one get rid of it. You cannot actually obtain the minor wizard, oil and season of discovery currently as none of the enchanting trainers sell the recipe.
Thats good to know, but you should get rid of every supply, and restore them all at once every 7 days, that way u get them all nicely packed in ur mail and don't have to bother with just carrying once

2:00 You don't have to go back to town and hand in crate before you can get another if u fill it out grinding you can get a second crate I've had 2nd and 3rd crates
If u get lucky with a 15 bandage one etc fill it and keep grinding u will get another crate drop.
Also at lvl 25 you get higher gold for questing like at other endgame lvl caps would be good idea imo to dung grind on an alt then do lvl 16+ quests.

Most players will not have the mats on them to complete it out in the field, so most are only carrying 1 at a time. Given the WIDE variety of boxes, it's more likely you don't have the mats than do.
One thing I highly recommend is saving at least 20 quests that are located fairly close together. I plan to have those quests completed but not turned in so when the next phase launches I can go from Red Ridge to Dusk Wood to Storm Wind to Wtlands.Just handing in quests and gaining tons of experience rapidly off the bat.
There's 2 camps really - do this method for phase 2 handins, or get lots of raw gold and dungeon spam in the next phase!
How about Darn as a hearth? You'd have all the benefits of a major city and the flight to Astraanar isn't too bad. You'd have to take 2 boats to SW but other than that I don't see much of a down side.. or just roll mage for teles. :)

Gnomes engineering is quite handy, they can get Goblin Jumper Cables which needs 165 skill
faction balancing is the greatest thing ever blizzard did for pvp servers. Total unballance is exactly the reason why i play wotlk on PVE. All EU servers were either horde or alliance where PVP totally loose its purpose.
yeah so far it has been amazing, it really feels like 50/50 with fun world pvp
I love level cap. Its such a great yet simple change that makes game that much better. It makes you gear up at each path of leveling. I hope it lasts long enough between phases.

There’s RUclips videos that detail it better but essentially you swim from the harbor to the edge near where the murlocs are and log out near the shoreline. Report your character stuck and if done right it will spawn you in front of IF and save you a long walk.

Im controlling large portions of the auction house market place trying to make that big boy gold before season 2 making pretty much 30-50gold a day atm almost completely afk I think the more gold I have now the better off Ill be in the next bracket.
As for questing for gold I think you better off Getting 20 level 25+ quests completed and not handing in until phase 2 drops to get 25 to 26 and a half ish in first 10 mins and be ahead of the curve.
I remember in like 2008 saying I'd love a server with caps at 19/29/39 etc with dungeons turned into raids (I always wanted a WC raid) and people said that was stupid. Wish they didn't delete the old forums so I could dig that gem up.
The fact there was no PTR I think made the experience so much better. Sure, a lot of things were broken and we didn’t know anything about the new content - but that’s the magic of it all

First time in classic I was levelling in conjunction with my professions because of the commission rep. What a tiny game changing addition, thoroughly enjoying my casual arse.
I’d enjoy it more if I knew how long the phase is. I just hit 25 today and that looming anxiety of must clear all content in 2/3 weeks is there. Want to be able to do the raid a few times at least
The raid resets every 3 days so if that helps. I figure it will last plenty long enough but sense that's just speculation I say enjoy it while you can.
At least you actually made it to max and don't have a ton of alts in there teens lol

Hey my friend, regarding your comment, that Gold is not a problem. You miss the inflation here, if everyone gets more gold (which everyone does) then all items will just be more pricy in the AH and in the end it doesnt matter if everyone has to pay 1s or 1g for their stuff.
Prices are about price and demand, and I trust servers to be full of wow addicts providing an excess of offer and destroying prices.
but the gold you gather up until 25 becomes rather insignificant.
one thing to add: wizard oils (for the supply quests) don't appear to exist yet, so you can't fill those supply boxes.

If anyone’s interested in playing mage. Living flame/living bomb is stupid once you get to do dungeons. Just keep your bombs up and you basically just make everything go BOOM. I’m only 20 but I’m doubling lvl 25s damage by just making everything go boom then lighting fires under peoples asses with living flame. It’s extremely fun and broken for pve
Arcane is also a lot of fun as the new “healer spec” feels funny healing with a wand through damage after stacking regenerations on your team and well frost is just 🤷🏻♂️ same frost as usual

I just turned in supplies and only filled them if I could. You find them so often you will get rep quicker and not go broke trying to fill them.

Personally I'm saving the high level quests for turn in when they raise the level cap. Get 2 maybe 3 levels right at the start of the next phase.
There is one thing about the +15 for gnomes, they are the only race that can use the goblin jumper cables so far!

Pretty sure there are actually 3 tiers of waylaid supplies. Everyone says there are 2 tiers but there are 3 variety of boxes for each type. For example there are boxes for copper bars, bronze bars, and silver bars. I would assume this means there are 3 tiers of box right now

Pretty much impossible to get into a raid without serious gold on wild growth. 2 runs in the dungeons to get enough gear to make 20-40 a breeze.... yup super seriously good content so far.
Average WoW Player: looks up everything ahead of time, thus there is no discovery.

Don´t know really. Just started yesterday with my wife and we see a lot of people leveling still in the starting zones. But i dont think so cuz of small lvl cap a lot of people will be lvling alts.
As someone whos become very jaded with gaming and has reduced my hours sod is nice but i think if i was gaming like i did 4 years ago id get bored soon
As a gnome warrior the 165 lets me ress people. Also the goblin jumper cables seem to not break in 7 for 7 with resses so i could just be lucky for now
I wish i knew i was gonna wait 3 weeks for a friend to catch up in wow hc and keep dying 7 times and to this day still hasn't caught up to do RFC...
edit: I made a new account and reached level 40 going for 60 probably will reach that level before that friend reaches level 16 lol

what you can do is to save all of those quests from 23 to 25 and then a week or maybe a few days before the level caps gets raised you complete all those quests but do not hand it in. instead let it sit nice ajnd comfy until the game has been patched. this way you don't have to worry about people questing in ashenvale or duskwood or similar areas. you just hand all the big quests in various areas and on you go to level 40! :3

Just dont understand how after 20 years they still cant balance this version of the game. It's already broken with few classes towering of the others and making the majority of the classes irrelevant at pvp and only serve as pve utility classes. Over it already.
They specifically said for SoD they were focusing less on balance and more on fun. So find a class that’s fun and enjoy it while it lasts.
