Oh how far we have come, in 30+ years. I remember putting together the original gold chassis rc10 from scratch. Then converting later on, from off road to more of a street car. Didn't had the luxury of a gyro or electronic speed controller. You had to master driving all by yourself and if you went to far, the car went out of control. Good old 80's!
Adam Spitfire Yes good old days, the chassis back then was always built of good stuff! Loads of work went into it but those electrics of the 80’s & 90’s compared to today’s!🤦🏼♂️😂 I take all today’s electronics and time warp it all back to the 80’s along with myself 😁
thanks for this review of the car. i'm so sick of hearing and watching whats wrong with it hey dude it the first RTR drag car what do you expect. You got it dialed of camera and you ran it. Good job.
Thanks for a great review 🤘 10/10 Have had this one in a cart for quite a while and keep ordering something else.. I just can't seem to pull the trigger on this one yet 🤔
Wow this is awesome as alot of people are into the rc drag scene now , proline makes some awesome parts for the slash to make it a drag car I'm glad to see TA step up and make a rtr drag car !!
Next time you want more traction put some sugary drink (we used to use the cheap 2 liter sodas) in a spray bottle, spray your launch area, and let it dry. Less liquid than a spilled soda but great traction.
First time watching one of your videos and I think you are very thorough on your review. Look forward to seeing your upgrades as then I might buy one, always been a fan of Team Associated since my very first real R/C was an RC10 Back in 1986! I even bought the remake, still sealed in box ofcourse!
Id love to see it with a spool...i put a spool in my 2wd rustler vxl with anacandas and it was horrible lol just wanted to do donuts...i bet it works good with that tho
that was an awesome presentation - better than the guys at team A, lol and that car is a great starter for anyone who wants to try out drag racing without breaking the bank to hard , cheers and thanks for a great Video
Nice video, it looks like a SC10 (LWB) chassis or a B4 (SWB) chassis with B4 arms? So you could do a lot with this, first a 3s lipo & a larger pinion gear 👍🏻😎
If you put a locker in it. Make sure you get some spare idler gears. The aluminum idler works well but, it is hard on the top shaft and the diff gear. If you want to get it a little tighter add some thick diff fluid or a ball diff. It will be better in the long run, Years of oval racing a SC10 makes you really familiar with those transmissions. Also those shocks are really good for oval cars. I switched back from the big bores to those smaller ones.
Just received mine last week ( green Reakt) . Beautiful body shell, although decals had little air bubbles trapped inside, nothing the X-acto fine point blade couldn't fix. Front tires are crap, they almost ate all the rubber with just a few passes (one or two hours of asphalt drag use), but great traction. Rear tires are stronger, beefier, last way longer. Servo still working flawlessly, ESC super cool after dragging many many times with 3S ,70C 5000mah lipo battery. 2S is waaaay too boring for this car. Motor never got warm. Had to lift the body two holes with the body posts to avoid scratches to the green shell. Transmitter/ receiver are crap, no more than 125 or 135 feet range and lose control of the vehicle. The AVC feature is fantastic though. Worked flawlessly. But goodbye to that tx/Rx and hello to my Spektrum SR315 and DX5R tx ( so no more AVC gyro) unless an external gyro be installed. Easy peasy. Stock 30WT shock's oil replaced with 50WT for better handling and cornering. Included decals are not precut. No big deal. Overall, very customizable kit , fun to drive, and very satisfied with it. Great job TA, with the DR10.
In the real world a nice long stroke shock with a medium/soft spring for the front to keep the front skinnies on the ground but still get the weight transfer
Good thorough review. I have mix feelings regarding this car between all the plastic and the total cost for this model. Despite the investment you may still need to put money into it. New tires and wheels and possibly a new body and a few other misc parts. Its a great platform but so is the Slash? I understand this to be a true drag car but still?
@@curtismayne1 haha. Yeah there similar. I have thw first gen sc10 and just replaced the chassis on it and its the same chassis minus a few altercations. Pro sc10 is like a sc5m and sc10 had a baby haha.
Rtr means ready to run, which means it includes the battery and charger..... artr means almost ready to run, it just needs the betterys and charger........sometimes the radio
How long is Drag City? I see some guys using a 132 foot (1/4 mile) track. No Prep and Street Racing is a 1/8th mile which is 66 foot. Back in my day in the 70s street drags were 1/4 mile. But as cars got faster people started getting hurt, and dying. So to reduce the top speed at the big end they shortened it to 1/8th mile.
Street eliminator is a 2s class....u can do what u want with ur rc. But without changing gear and the motor for one with some more kv....adding a cell won't do very much...it'll jus get u from ur zero to 28mph jus a hair quicker than on 2s.
Would this make a better car than doing a conversion on a traxas slash, I’m just getting in to any kind of rc an I wanna build a trail truck an a drag car. But I don’t really know much about them.
it looks like the original RC10 molded in plastic with some small changes. Guess ill have to pull out my original rc10 from 1980 something and put the drag wheels on it!
Hold on Team Associated is not the Company it used to be. Firstly that isn't a new chassis or design, its the SC 10 2WD from about 10 years or more ago with a new body, Different tires and wheelie bar. It's a Great truck, i used to own one but to sell it as a drag car after all these years it does not make sense to me as the chassis was not designed to handle such high down force and torque etc. It is light though but it also would break if you touch another car or stone at those high speeds. At least the parts are readily available since they share most of the parts with the old sc10. But i would have liked to see a chassis design from ground up with some more durable parts especially motor mounts and suspension for drag racing. However, this may be a good beginner RC.
You HAVE to run 3S with this dragger. This car as it sits is not fast at all. I own several bashers that are not set up to drag race at all that will put this thing on the trailer. Please make a video with 3S and maybe different gearing on a warmer day. That will make a huge difference.
so is this just for specific classes? because I'd rather just take my rustler 4x4 with street slicks all around with a castle creations 5400kv. does wheelies from a dig with still being able to spin all the tires if I want. lol
I don't know what classes your local club has but If you can get enough people I'll bet they'll run a class for 4wd. You should hope the 4wd touring cars don't fall in the same class - when you lift the front wheels on a 4wd you lose half your traction...
I just ordered one online and I can’t wait for it to arrive, all I’ve been watching is review videos about it 😄

Just destroyed my manual speed controller today which was first bought in 1984. 36 years of crashing lol

Just purchased my DR10 thanks for showing the unveiling of the beast Cool intro
Nice to see a unboxing on RUclips, seem like videos are fix it or speed runs!

Traxxas been had dragsters
That launch was awesome, good video, thanks.

Pretty sweet right out of box.
That is sooo aawsuum !! Slo mo wheelies...I did'nt know
rc had come so far....Gyro stabalising ..Wheelie bars...Aawsuuum
Wow this is awesome as alot of people are into the rc drag scene now , proline makes some awesome parts for the slash to make it a drag car I'm glad to see TA step up and make a rtr drag car !!
Cool I just got my son a slash for his b day
It looks like an early 1970’s Chevelle mixed with the rear of an early ‘70’s Plymouth Duster.
Thats what i was thinking i thought the hood was a duster though

Unboxing , duh huh beavis
Id love to see it with a spool...i put a spool in my 2wd rustler vxl with anacandas and it was horrible lol just wanted to do donuts...i bet it works good with that tho
That’s an awesome rc car with so much power... and quick acceleration on 2s , but with 3s lipo it will be more exciting
that was an awesome presentation - better than the guys at team A, lol and that car is a great starter for anyone who wants to try out drag racing without breaking the bank to hard , cheers and thanks for a great Video

Great Video, Just ordered 2 of them, one for my neighbor and one for myself!
Cool. Where? They're sold out everywhere
Sounds like fun
Wish I was your neighbor lol
Very informative vid matey 👌
I remeber putting homade drag bars on grasshoppers back in the day!!!!(Frogs also!!)
Lmao... the memories that just came flooding back when i read your comment... grasshoppers were definitely back way in the day...
If you grew up in the 80s-90s and didn’t own a grasshopper you were truly deprived.

Edwin Cordero RC check out skyrc gyro for quick cheap steering gyro
That is "SICK!! just subbed to see mor of it and your video's thanks!.
Original SC10 chassis, guess they had to do something with the overstock!
Storyline America also no prep rules require a short course chassis so this car actually is an rtr no prep entry
Looks more like the B4 chassis
In the real world a nice long stroke shock with a medium/soft spring for the front to keep the front skinnies on the ground but still get the weight transfer
That pretty much is a SC10 but lowered and different tires and a wheelie bar. Nice review
I wonder if they offer a notchback foxbody shell for this? I’d buy one and make a small version of my drag car.
A bit late, but they do. JConcepts, 1991 Fox Notch. Google it.
Team associated is awsome i had a tc3 for years i loved it... great quality, great company
The grill, does look like a GTX, but from the side it definitely looks like a Duster. Wish the would make it look more realistic,

I love Associated but you can get an RJSpeed for just over $100 but just a roller.
I love the videos and stay safe
There is a Traxxas DTS-1 timing light for drag racing. It would be interesting to try and get a club running with this setup.
Thank you! Someone actually showed the dr10 turning 😁 all the vids i seen sofar just drag...straight. nice vid👍🤙
GOOD JOB MARK 👏
So sick! I have a drag nova now. Let me know when you want to run 😜✌
Looks like a pro sc10 with a wheelie bar and skinny fron wheels haha
I think it has the narrow rear A arms and axles from the buggy as well.
@@smiley37greg i could see that
At first glance i thought it looked like a t4 with b4 arms on it

Great video! Thanks for the review!
The chassis looks like a cheep version of a traxxas rustler? Cool looking car though. Thanks for the review
It’s a short corse dragster so it had that type chassis I think
Rc Blake thanks! It looks really cool! Keep up the good work!!!
i had a 2.2t brushless setup on a 130a esc with 4s on my scx10 and that did instant flips hahah quick af
and that has what to do with this review? lol
putting a 2.2t motor in an scx10 is the stupidest thing ive ever heard imo

The Wheely was sweet .
Minimal 3s for that beast. It has a simple design and looks from the real muscle car era. i dig it.

So cool 😎👍

I’m thinking about getting one is it worth it
Hi sir , good video , about how much does this retail for ? Thank you
$4,380

@@bigbassboost6438 so your telling me a real car price for a toy thats ridiculous
On the box it resembles a Demon,Duster,Dart Sport more than an GTX bit definitely a Mopar

very cool thanks for sharing. keep that nose down on the track... wheelies look cool but just slow you down!
That was cool on 3s mine wants to flip over how can I stop that
I like that rc car reminds me of my broken xmax (I got a traxxes xmax that does wheelies in reverse lol)
Haha I agree my Maxx super beast on 4s 6700mah.
Nice car
Cool rc car
It would be fun to find a DTS-1 traxxas timing light .I'm looking for one in Canada but am not having much luck.
i have a review video of the SKY RC GNSS performance analyzer coming up on the channel soon..
it looks like the original RC10 molded in plastic with some small changes. Guess ill have to pull out my original rc10 from 1980 something and put the drag wheels on it!

Hey brother thanks for clearing that up about the body because it L👀ks like a Chevelle thank U
