      Totally. Get that high D note rocking on the 2 and just before the 4, that's kinda the key

    Performing this on Monday. Wish us luck, doing this in standard key with drop D so my vocalist will have an easier time singing it! Thanks for the quick lesson and yes, SALUTE to Chris Stapleton for giving us this beautiful version!!!! Love it - God bless America!

      Good question. I honestly hadn't looked at the label for so long I didn't even know so thanks for asking! It's an SP000-16R from the late 90s.👍

    Love it, thanks. I need to move it to a different (lower) key to be able to better approach the "rockets red glare", high part vocally. Everything I try loses the cool "open D sound" (in this case D flat) which makes it unique. Capoing doesn't help. Any recommendations?

    This is great, thanks for sharing!! just one question, how can I mock the F18 sound on my guitar at the end of the song?

    • @colbymarksmusic
      @colbymarksmusic  Год назад +2

      HAHA I'm dying 🤣 I'm such a music nerd that I thought about this for days like, "F18? Does he mean some sort of dominant F13, or may an F with two octaves?" So I just pulled up Chris' performance, skipped to the end, the planes fly overhead and immediately go, "Oh... yeah, I get it now lol." But seriously, just roll the volume down, slap the low strings, roll the volume up while facing amp and let that sucker feedback like a fighter jet. Job done.

      @@colbymarksmusic LOL sorry, I should've been more specific about the F18 ENGINES haha... anyway, great answer 🤣 Thanks again for sharing the chords!! see ya' around

    You’re very good guitar player but I think you’re explaining it as someone at your level what about breaking it down and maybe making some tabs

    • @colbymarksmusic
      @colbymarksmusic  Год назад +1

      Hi 👋 There is a link to a TAB in the description. Keep after it and I’d be happy to break down anything you’re having trouble with. Thanks for watching! -C
