    Well, it took 23min to paint 1/2 of a door! So i find it really really hard to believe an entire door can be done in 10-15 minutes. I see no reason why one would feel the need to "stretch" the truth in something so mundane. Even at 720p with poorly shot video I can clearly see brush marks, and globs in this paint! A real "professional" would have added Floetrol to the paint.

    • @jaredwilly1
      @jaredwilly1 Год назад +3

      Sorry for "stretching the truth" I was just guessing at the time. I timed myself and it took me 16 min and 43 seconds to paint a door. The only time I use floetrol is when the paint drags (seems dry) or when I spray with a HVLP sprayer. Most of the paints I use do not need floetrol and especially Urethane or Alkyd paints they run thin. Too much floetrol has a tendency to flatten of dull the paint

      @@scotty362100 well let’s see here 1981 I was 6 and I was being molested by my moms new husband until I was 14. At 14, I slashed his throat open one night which resulted in a whole lengthy legal battle and at 21 I went to work for a landscaping company for 6 years. After those 6 years, I saved enough money to start a little side gig of my own and after 23 years of making money, losing money, chasing money, selling my soul, watching my oldest daughter die from a heart condition at 19. I sold all the equipment, trucks, trailers, tools and decided to settle down. Now I just go on RUclips and tell people how professional I am.

    If you paint a door this way, by the time you have 2 coats or even 3 on a new door you will get build up around the edges of every panel, these should be kept clean and not built up. and a 2" brush is fine.

    • @jaredwilly1
      @jaredwilly1 Год назад +2

      Yes keeping the edges from getting to much build up is important, that is why I like a angle sash brush and I use a very small brush to clean the edges.

      Good point. He's not doing that door in 10 minutes either and it is a bit silly saying that to a amateur audience.
      I would also advise decanting your paint into a kettle (to stop contamination of dust and fibres).

      @shure46 2 месяца назад

      yep his brush was too big and too stiff , especially for the panels , smaller softer brush better , styles and rails could have easily been mini rolled

      Recommendations who to watch? I'm doing sloppy ass job at my family restaurant lmao. I have no time to do this. Got 20 feet left and right side room to paint. and it's hot as hell right now. Walls are in bad condition. What's worst is that this is lease, so the landlords are cheap ass motherfuckers, I don't want to put anymore large chunks of money cause alot of restaurants and old plazas are getting sold for condos.

    OK, here’s the thing ! You should always paint the 👉Panels first & foremost, then the Muntins,Lock Rails, & then finally the Stiles - that is the correct way to do it! And seriously this man did a great job, But it took him more than 10mins to just paint that panelled door 🚪 😕🥺😰🤦🏻‍♂️
    I know because I’m a professional painter myself

    Never said if the original paint was latex or oil. Can't paint latex over oil, so I assume urethane alkyd enamel is OK over oil? Not enough data.

    • @jaredwilly1
      @jaredwilly1 Год назад

      The original paint was latex. If it was oil then the process would still be the same. Using Lacquer thinner is more important as it helps soften the hard oil paint surface.

    laq thinner is a dirty solvent why would I want to add dirt to the surface. liquid T.S.P. or Chomp degreaser are better options. with out the V.O.C.
