  • Gegen die Verabschiedung von Tatsachen, Wahrheit und Objektivität auf der Basis einer vermeintlichen Einsicht in die soziale Konstruktion der Wirklichkeit wandte sich eine internationale Tagung an der Universität Bonn. Es wurde unter dem Titel ‚Neuer Realismus‘ gefragt, ob überzeugendere Modelle für die postmoderne Diagnose einer Pluralität von Wahrheiten, Sprachspielen oder Perspektiven erkennbar sind.

    Why listen to this? He reads a paper. Might as well read the paper. He speaks too fast. Slow down. Make easy points and go deep on them. Not a good lecture. Not a good lecturer.

      Papers are often read aloud at academic conferences, often before they are published. This is in no way unusual. Someone just happened to record it so that others might benefit from it.

      I'd rather he read it than me but I enjoyed it, I did get a little distracted by how much he looks like the other kid in Harry potter tho

    Philosophers need to reassert themselves into the sciences. This nonsensical talk is fine after you have done you original mandate, which is to keep science pragmatic and useful. Philip K Dick answered the ontology question long ago. "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away." Now that we've got that sorted, can you please go tell the physicists that they are not in the business of finding ultimate reality.
