Having an advisor to guide you through planning for healthcare expenses alongside Social Security adjustments can be invaluable in securing a stable income
@BaffySchenck don't know how that happened, part B went from $164.90 a month in 2023 to $174.70 in 2024, so a $9.80 increase, and you don't pay more until for part B unless your adjusted gross income is $103,000 for a single person, or $206,000 filing jointly.

We have Americans hurting all over our vast country and yet we dish out trillions for other countries and people who aren’t even here legally. Just imagine if all that money was invested into our own people. We would be in much a better position. This must stop!
That's correct 62 is the youngest social security. Besides the states tax your social security, except if you get a sizeable pension from your job, or you work a post retirement job and make more than than annual allowable amount. When this happens Social Security cuts your benefit amount for the year.
@@johnfreed3849 Many states do NOT tax SS income and SS only monitors your income and reduces you SS payments if you take early retirement and continue working and earn more than SS allows for early retirement members. Once a person reaches full retirement age, after having claimed early retirement benefits, the income restrictions are lifted and you can make as much money (or not) as you want without penalty. I know this for a fact, as *I* took early SS retirement at 62, accepting the income restrictions, and I had yearly SS payment adjustments based on my income tax filings until I reached my full retirement age of 66. Since then, I have had no adjustments to my SS payments, despite earning more than what I was restricted to prior to reaching full retirement age. I am 70 now, still working, still paying into SS, and not being taxed on my SS income (I live in Idaho and do pay state income taxes).
@MAGAALABAMA83 if you fixed income is only social security, chances are your not paying taxes on ss already, this will only reduce taxes for those who have more than just ss.

Don't forget that the president cannot unilaterally change taxation on Social Security without congressional approval. Tax policy, including Social Security taxes, is established by law, and any changes to taxation would require action from Congress. The president can propose changes or advocate for specific tax policies, but final decisions on taxation authority rest with the legislative branch. Historically, the Democratic Party has been viewed as more supportive and friendlier to Social Security compared to the Republican Party. The Democratic Party typically emphasizes the importance of social safety nets, including Social Security, as part of its platform.
Then the Democrats in congress voting in favor of not federally taxing social security benefits would be a no brainer , that's if they truly care about the " social safety net " 🤔 . The Democrats can vote in bipartisan with the Republicans in removing social security benefits taxation the same way they do for the Ukraine funding and the Isreal funding , right ?

Prices have to come down 50% on everything, not just gasoline, and not just eliminating income tax on Social Security, which is not going to put 50% back into the pocket of many, if any, retiree who is on fixed income. Biden's and all inflation since Obama took office must be reversed, and that inflation has been a doubling, in some cases tripling, of prices over that short time. To reverse the doubling of prices requires a 50% reduction of those prices ..... all prices, not just some of them. Merely playing with SS income tax code won't get us there. Plus, many of us are fixed income on Company pensions, and not yet taking Social Security. No income tax on Social Security won't give us - who are in that situation - back our purchasing power.

With Trump's plan (and notice he did not mention that he wouldn't cut social security benefits which is the REAL issue, his "plan" is that only SS benefits wouldn't get taxed). Many variables come into play - per tax bracket range of $47,151 - $100,525 /Single, for example, only in this income range one will pay 22% income tax. Below $47,151 one is looking at income tax of 10-12%. Again, progressive, so only when one reaches $47,151 - anything over is 22% income tax. Anything below is 10-12% progressive tax rate. Many retired seniors make about 40-50K on average retirement; and some may pay up to 85% in social security earnings in income tax. Many only 50% of their earnings. VERY important those deductions that remove a SIGNIFICANT chunk of taxable income for most seniors/fixed income. Many retired seniors make about 40-50K on average retirement; and some may pay up to 85% in social security earnings in income tax. Many only 50% of their earnings. That's correct 62 is the youngest social security.

My mom made $16k on her pension, and lost 25k with Biden - it's dependent on American businesses. Businesses shutting down and leaving to foreign countries.
I listen to Trump on the daily and NEVER ONCE have I heard him say cutting taxes like this. He speaks about trade, about minimizing and stopping spending to other countries - ways to utilize our tax dollars correctly.
Trump is not talking about payroll taxes,he's saying no taxes on those collecting social security
@@daddygc5814 - I never said payroll taxes. we are talking about income taxes which is what Trump is touting. It is a total smoke screen. Do the math ! So currently with the average SS check at $1783.00 per month - and you must have heard the dire predictions - we are looking at a 20% across the board benefit cut down the road - a little over 10 years from now (unlike the more taxpayer friendly progressive tax which alleviates tax burden for lower income individuals) - nope, it is 20% "whack" for all beneficiaries because the trust fund is running out. So that is $356.60 per month "haircut" reduction in benefits for the average social security check/recipient. A LOT of money - POOF, gone because "sorry folks we don't have the money to pay you even though you have paid into this all of your working lives". Complete smokescreen BS. With Trump's plan (and notice he did not mention that he wouldn't cut social security benefits which is the REAL issue, his "plan" is that only SS benefits wouldn't get taxed). Since taxes are progressive per tax bracket, and also depending on income -- one may have no taxes taken out, or up to 85% is taxed. Some none, it all depends on income. The point is, there is NO way to compare a $356.60 /20% benefit reduction for average social security recipient -- which is VERY much on the table with GOP -- and you DID notice Trump made no mention of THAT 20% cut which is the BIGGEST concern, not the income tax savings which amounts to peanuts in savings for most retirees and Trump knows this (like the joke /COLA increases- totally peanuts with COLA and does not reflect true cost of living for seniors). So the income tax proposal is absolutely NO comparison to the other side of "Trump's" coin which is the 20% monthly reduction in benefits ACROSS THE BOARD. THINK about that, what will life look like when your social security benefits are cut 20%? But the politicians aren't getting any cuts, of course not, instead they are getting all sorts of perks and golden parachutes. It is the 20% cut that ALL retirees need to be concerned about, not the chump change "carrot" of no income tax, and of which, part of that income tax does pay into social security trust fund that is getting depleted by the day.
Think about the TRUE cost of this "proposal" - we are talking about income taxes this is what Trump is touting (not payroll taxes). It is a total smoke screen. Do the math ! And don't forget income tax comes AFTER tax deductions - like the standard deduction - 15K for singles and 30K for joint filers. VERY important those deductions that remove a SIGNIFICANT chunk of taxable income for most seniors/fixed income. Many retired seniors make about 40-50K on average retirement; and some may pay up to 85% in social security earnings in income tax. Many only 50% of their earnings. It is the 20% cut that ALL retirees need to be concerned about, not the chump change "carrot" of no income tax, and of which, part of that income tax does pay into social security trust fund that is getting depleted by the day. And lastly, the 20% cut could even be MORE - as the predictions range from 20 - 25% benefit cut down the road.
@@lilysanchez2090 With all due respect, what are you talking about? This is not about a 401K tied to stock market, it is about social security benefits getting cut 20-25% in a little over a decade. That is what is on the table with the GOP - TWENTY to TWENTY FIVE percent cut. ACROSS THE BOARD cut. (In other words. not like the progressive income tax system./ tiered tax liability based on income which is how income tax on social security is calculated. Just a straight 20-25% haircut for every SS recipient, and since the average social security check is $1784 , that would mean $357 dollars to $446 month cut!! Do you think the average social security recipient pays that month in taxes /income tax on their social security. NO WAY! Cutting social security tax to "help" social security recipients is chump change compared to addressing the REAL problem, the proposed 20 -25% cuts across the board. Many recipients don't pay income tax on their social security because they don't earn enough anyway. After tax deductions/standard deductions, much of the tax is reduced, not to mention it is a progressive income tax system - BIG difference to the 20 - 25% cut is ACROSS THE BOARD which doesn't take one's income into account, and this is the REAL issue.

His policy of no taxes on Social Security! will bankrupt it in no time
A binary mind would think like that. No taxes on a single item does not mean a loss of funding. Do you really believe that only the taxes collected on SS are used to fund SS? Lol...
Not if he starts drilling oil and gas and starts the steel industry up again and the other mining industry's that have been desemented. As soon as he does this America will create revenue and be able to export. This is how you solve that problem!

Trump 👍
I'm on a fixed Social Security income & it's really a struggle with inflation & high prices on everything as well as houses. I'm counting on you President Trump because we need you to fix what the Democrats in office have attempted to destroy!

I’m voting for Trump….no question about this. But there’s something about these town hall meetings taking questions from locals, or regular folks …really bother me. I don’t think “Bob’s” question about protecting SS benefits was really answered well. Instead it went to many other talking points. It just all seems disingenuous. I guess it’s just politics, and the theatre that comes with it. Just my opinion.
Protecting doesn’t mean not cutting to protect. The question needed more beef.
My local bank wants about 10% or so to get a loan for a car. I can't afford one any more. Which do you want? Remember it's your decision and it may affect your life. God bless.
Wages have not gone up to meet the rising costs of homes, food… even to afford a used car is expensive
I'm just curious exactly which Donald Trump policy is going to improve the above situation? Do you recall the flaming trainwreck of 2020, a global pandemic that will take the world a decade to recover from?
@@nicholasstathoulopoulos4744 Yes. And Mr Trump isn't to blame. And it has nothing to do with high interest rates.
