Yeah... It is the shade of contour. You're using something warm on the cheeks as your contour, which doesn't work because contour is supposed to mimic a natural shadow, so the brown needs to be cool toned instead of warm like a bronzer, which mimics a natural tan, which is also meant to be placed higher in the face where the sun actually hits us. Hope this helps!
PS: The people wanna see a Drew Barrymore inspired video. She was one of the it girls of the 90s after all.

Ok, I know you will probably never see this, but I am a MUA and I have some tips for you!!!! (Not a read hun, just helpful stuff you may not have tried.) You mentioned that your mascara wouldn’t work well on your short lashes as they point down and are “chodes” haha, what I have noticed on my clients is that the mascara you wanna go for is WATERPROOF! You want to curl the lash in a pulsing motion and then layer a good waterproof mascara on top immediately after curling, adding more layers until the desired look. A lot of clients I have had in my chair have been Asian, and they tend to have lashes that point down too, I learned the trick from them! I don’t know why it works, but it does, so I just go with it. As for you saying that you have a small mouth and lips, I HIGHLY recommend TooFaced lip injection extreme lip plumper. If you use it everyday, (I use it at night as like a lip mask), it not only instantly increases lip volume and hydration, but the “extreme” version has peptides that actually work like serum to give you permanent fuller lips over time. Another tip, when you apply your lip color and want that overlined look, apply the lip following your natural shape and while the color is still wet, rub your lips together as far up and down as you naturally can and it will give you a guide of the everyday overline you can do that won’t look crazy. Last thing, primer absolutely does work, but you need a hydrating primer, not a matte one. The reason we get greasy is cause our skin is dry and trying to compensate the lost moisture with oil. Milk has one called hydro grip and I LOVE IT, you just have to apply it, let it fully dry down and then go in with your makeup. I live in Texas and sweat/get oily like crazy and I will say that helps when I’m conjunction with urban decay all-nighter. I promise it’s the move sis. If you read this, I hope my tips were helpful! If you didn’t…well fuq, I tried lol
