  • This car has been in storage over 20 years and has had the same owner since 1964. Today I'll tell you a little bit about the history of this particular classic, original Porsche and show you the cool historical documents I found inside the car. Subscribe for part 2 about what work it needs to get it running again.

Congratulations! Beautiful 356. Always fight back against rust. Look everywhere for it!

Thanks, will do! There does seem to be some rust beneath the paint but doesn't appear to be too bad. Just a tiny bit of bubbling.

What a great story! First car I ever bought was a '55 1500N Continental Coupe in 1960. Can't wait to see this running.

Such a beautiful story about your friend and his shared passion with you & the joy of driving. An exciting new adventure and tribute to carrying on the memory and joy shared with Bill. I’ll be sure to follow this journey! Congrats!!

Thank you so much for watching and for the nice comment! I'm so thrilled to be the next caretaker for this car. Every time I drive it or see it in my garage I'll think about my memories with Bill. And creating new memories with the car that will be linked to him. Can't wait to show it to you at some Porsche event soon!

Thanks Andy, I imagine it'll be slow as heck but still should be fun. :)

What a sad, yet awesome story! The new caretaker is an honored position that you earned well. I hope the Elise stays and maybe a 4 post lift is in your future.. Congrats!

Thanks for watching, yeah it's a sad story but with a happy ending. I'm definitely keeping the Elise, but will be selling the Exige once that's back together.

Three 356s within blocks of me in Long Beach so with mine that would be 4. listed and I have spoken with the owners. 64 cab belongs to a single lady. Nice car but a candidate for a restoration. 64 coupe driven daily back and forth to work. 58 speedster orginal owner stored in his garage. Would not sell it no matter how many times I asked. Never left the garage until the owner passed and the kids took it to auction in Orange county. Never did find what the auction brought.

Wow, that's awesome to have so many right near you. My son and I were playing basketball at a school nearby last week and I saw a blue 356 cabriolet drive past. Now I need to find out if he lives in the neighborhood!
