I'm considering doing Karaoke, but not for home use. There's a group that gets together a few times a year and I was thinking of hosting a karaoke event. I have a fast laptop for gaming. I can download youtube videos that are karaoke and instrumental versions, this takes place with about zero cell service. I just need a microphone and speakers. I already have a monitor. There are Karaoke machines for a few hundred bucks but I believe that I just need the few things. I might need an amp for the microphone to increase pickup despite the laptop having a setting to increase mic volume.
Why don't I see a "key" button (which allows adjustment of sound pitch) on the sound mixer ? Can you recommend one with this key button ?

If it doesn't have a TV out port, you'll need to buy a converter for Digital out (optical/toslink) to be able to convert it to RCA: bit.ly/2WmsA2g Make sure Optical is IN and RCA is OUT 👍

I have an old school surround sound with no aux port just headphone jack hooked to smart tv would a box like this be able to just plug into my tv and work through the surround sound? Thanks
It should! Your surround sound needs to be the out though so if you’re talking about the head phone jack of the surround sound, you need to look for another out

hi there, I followed your steps, but for some odd reasons there's no audio coming out for my TV. I can only hear my microphone audio. My soundbar is connected to my tv via Optical in/out. I can only select aux input, but I can't select both Optical and aux at the same time for my soundbar. Would you be able to help me with this? Thanks

Carlos Vargas I checked the sonos playbar and it looks like your only input is a toslink optical cable. You might need a rca to optical converter which is this one (amzn.to/2WzeFX5) because you’re going to connect from the mixer which is rca (mixer) to rca (converter) and then your out should be optical (converter) to optical (soundbar). Hope it works! 🙏🏼

Thank you for posting this! It is very informative. I am wondering if this mixer will provide power to the microphone to boost the volume? Also, is there any background static noise when this is hooked up? I think this could be the best solution I have found to have Karaoke for my kids for little money.

I don’t think it can provide phantom power to a mic and some people say that they’ve gotten static but none for me. But hey for the price, it’s unbeatable! 😊

I think as long as you connect your sound bar's hdmi to the TV and the sound bar's optical to the karaoke mixer, you should be okay. I can't guarantee it'll work but it seems like that's the only option. Good luck!

Great video page. I am a fan. I have magicsing on my home theater but I want to use my android TV for RUclips karaoke, how do I use my magicsing mic to sing with RUclips when my input on magictech mic is different from Android TV? My android only has hdmi but my karaoke mic is the audio video jack

I bought the same karaoke mixer as yours but the rca cables seems to be not functioning. is it possible to connect the tv to soundbar via bluetooth and connect the karaoke mixer alone for the microphone? yung cable 2 seems to be working fine.. wala pa kasi microphone.. kaya di ko pa matest..
If you're using the sound bar for both tv audio and mic audio, that won't work because they will be using different inputs. let me know when the mics come in!

This was very helpful, thank you! To avoid the hassle of going behind the tv, I was thinking of simply buying a TV soundbar that has a mic input (the mic would connect to the soundbar and soundbar is also connected to the TV which would play youtube karaoke videos). Are there any soundbars that have it? I had no luck finding any online.
No, as far as I've found there's no soundbar like that. You really need to get this mixer at a minimum.

Vince Phi This is one of my favorites because it’s already 2 mics and you just plug in one input and it’s rechargeable. Just plug in the receiver into mic 1 or 2 and you’re good to go! amzn.to/31NkxQ4

Hello there! I have a lg sound bar as well, but i hear separately like microphone st sound bar and youtube karaoke at TV.. Are you able to hear both sound at the same time innsound bar?? I have LG tv, but "karaoke" isn't the same that you have, mine just have aux and i out on my sound bar and the sound bar had optical cable and i conect to TV thats the only cables that y have to conect.
This mixer will definitely make sure that you hear both though the sound bar 😊
Than you for the video. I need help to set up karaoke at home. I have an LG Smart TV , JBL Linkbar (Soundbar), a microphone and a Yamaha MG06X mixer. I connected my TV to the mixer using a digital converter and connected the mixer to the soundbar using a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm cable. Unfortunately, I get very low sound or no sound at time. Please help.

Just recently got the E5 Magic sing wireless system and now im trying to connect it through my 2-1 Insignia soundbar. But how can i fix the auto delay?
If vocal sounds delayed: -This is caused by certain type of digital TVs. To bypass this problem, please connect the audio out(white and red jacks) to a separate audio system and the video out(yellow jack) to the TV. ... Karaoke Hacks Thanks Boss for replying. My soundbar came with red and white cords no (yellow) . so then I i connect mine to the magic sing and the HDMI to my TV. I tried doing the game mode through my tv (internal sound) no auto delay but when I connect my Bluetooth Soundbar to my tv it auto delays. My girl is pregnant and she’s trippen that she wants to use the sound bar to have a better quality but it’s killing me taking two hours figuring this out lol smh. Let me be in peace woman 😂

You showed a usb connection going into the back of the tv. where does it go to.????
Neil Kennedy the usb connection is for the chrome cast device to generate power. You can also just attach it with a USB adapter plug so that you can plug it in directly into a power outlet (which I think is better)

benhur pantaleon If you still need to turn up the sound from your tv and it’s still not coming out of the sound bar, you may need to go into the TVs settings and adjust the audio out. Same goes with the sound bar.

Yes as long as the sound is being projected to the tv as well, you should be able to do the same thing. Just make sure the audio output is switched from speakers to external audio

I have sony HT-S350 soundbar
Unfortunately, the Sony HT-S350 have very basic physical inputs. It can connect to your TV through HDMI ARC and to one external device by Optical Audio in, but that's all. There is no Full HDMI In so it can't act as a hub, and there's no Analog Audio in to connect to an older device with limited connectivity.
The only thing I can think of is by using an RCA Analog to Digital Optical Toslink Converter BUT I CAN'T GUARANTEE IT'S GOING TO WORK.

RCA needs to be input, since you're connecting it to the mixers MUSIC OUT. After connecting it to the converter, grab the optical cable and connect it to the TV IN. Let me know if it works!

can u pls help me try to make it work without the soundbar; i’m ok with getting the mixer but hoping to avoid buying the chromecast as well (budget)...so got an LG smart tv, a laptop that can screenshare with smart tv, an iphone, a singing machine with 2 wired microphones and a set of cables that has the white, red and yellow on each end (is that called av cable?)...hope u could help...covid is making us be more creative with date night ideas!

Masisira lang ang soundbar pag hindi ginagamit. Hehehe yung akin ilang taon ko nang ginagamit pang karaoke walang problema

Parang hindi, kasi gagamitin mo na yung out ng speaker to be attached dun sa mixer so I don’t see how it’ll work kung ibalik mo yung connection sa tv 😬

Rajesh Biswas Either LINE IN or AUX IN is an analogue connection and is still a great connection method if it is available on both your TV (ensure you connect to the AUDIO OUT connection on the rear of your TV) and Sound Bar. This uses and analogue signal through a conventional RCA or 3.5mm stereo jack cable. Because it is an analogue signal, it could be a subject to interference. Please route your cable as far from the mains as possible. You may need to enable the audio feature and disable the TV's speakers through TV's settings. See your TV's user guide. Use the Sound Bar volume control only. All of our soundbars have an analogue input. Hope this helps!
