I'm 75 years old. I'm Christian and my wife is Jewish. Lately when she attends Jewish events I stay outside nearby with a gun. I fear I will be doing this until I no longer can or until I die. Senator Hawley thank you and keep up the good fight.

This incident sounds like something out of 1930s Germany. Cooper Union needs to identify and turn in the students involved in attacking the Jewish students. Any of those students that are foreign nationals should be immediately deported. Thank you, Sen. Hawley for your passionate defense of law and order in this country and standing up for these victims of hatred. We need good moral people in elected office.
I think the situation is similar to the period of 1977-1979, when the Ayatollah Khomeini sent tens of thousands of Iranian jihadists to US soil to pose as students. I was at the university of Texas at Austin at the time and when these "students" kept escalating the violence, the police engaged a sweeping crackdown and exposed more than 5,000--yes, FIVE THOUSAND-- fake Iranian students who had infiltrated our campus.

@@dragonf1092 in regard to the lie of stolen land. jews and muslims and christians and druze and samarians and more lived there all these years. even in gaza, there was were jewish communities until 1929. since the fall of our temple, there were always jews in the land of israel. jews and muslims were both gifted with the right to live in peace. check out balforu declration of 1917. and again, in 1947 international community, the United Nations voted and declared that jews are allowed to build their own country. the jews would have been happy to live side by side by an arab country. unfortunately, arab muslims did not agree. through their great numbers they attacked the tiny little jewish state in 1948 and again in 1967. israelis were dragged into the war on both times. they had to fend off the very well armed seven nations around them. through a miracle, they won. they were able to pull back the egyptians and push back the egyptians soldiers on what is now gaza. they had that land and since they got it after they were attacked - international law recognizes it as theirs. but they didnt keep it. they gave it to the locals, the gazans. together with an impressive help in building gazans infrastructure (at which i took part of). gazans have their own country. unfortunately the death-worshipping government ruined the place, as im sure you know. you also mentioned "stole" land. if you are referring to samaria and judea, well, israel gave also lands to the palestinians. i dont know if you are aware, but there are two countries for arabs, in the heart of israel. i am sensing that you feel compassion and care for gazans. did you do anything for them personally? i was part of the team that built their sewage system, municipalities, roads. gaza city, beit lahiya, rafah gebalya and more. we did it all. what did hamas do? they used the pipes from sewage to build rockets. they used cement that israelis gave them for municialities and roads - to build an underground city for the purpose of murdering jews. the billions of dollars they received from foreign countires (including israel and i know about it cause i paid taxes when i lived in israel so yours truly also personally gave gazans money from her hard earned money). again, the government of gaza did not let money go into self development. they used most of it for themselves (read about how rich hamas leaders are) and into buying rockets and ammunition. its been 24 days since war begun and the are supposedly isolated but they still have an arsenal of rockets to launch at israel. well, when you build a country based solely on destruction of your neighbour, i guess there isnt much left for the prosperity of your citizens. jews did not stole land from anybody. arab muslims that fled in '48 left because they were afraid that jews will hurt them. this is a psychological process referred to as "transference". unfortunately,. the arab culture in that area is violent and vengeful and those that fled in 48 thought that jews would hurt them based on what their own people would do if things were revered. they did not know that jews are not this way at all. arab muslims that stayed continued to live in peace to this day. the arab muslims that stayed actually have exponentially increased in numbers since then increased their population and live the best lives among other muslim arabs in all of the region. they do great, they are in academia and in all parts of israeli society and enjoy full rights and are very respected. i am talking from personal experience as i have arab isralies friends and colleagues. i also have muslim arabs in my family (through marriage) from nearby countries and it is very clear that the muslim arabs living in the state of israel have the best lives. look, one third of the world is muslim countries. those that are in israel could have moved out to other places but they will never do. why? because they have enjoy good life, thank God. please, please dont bad mouth my people anymore. i do appreciate that you care about human beings. so do i. we both need to pray to God that there will be peace and mothers dont suffer anymore. every human being is special. every human being deserves life. nothing of positivity comes out of hate. if you take the hatred of people out of your heart and understand that God gives life and all that are living are God's creatures, you will feel peace within you and enjoy well being and prosperity.

Revoke tax exemptions and federal aid to any campuses that permit this behavior and any who also do not act swiftly and in good faith to prevent or end it.
And all involved in the demonstrations against the Jews need to be arrested, expelled, and if any of them are foreign, they need to be deported, immediately.

In Europe they are ahead of that. They aren't just condemning, as words are cheap. They are passing laws to revoke visas and deport those that participate in these kinds of actions, and they are starting to toughen their immigration laws for illegal immigrants.

As much as this was an attack on Jews, which is more than disgusting, it is an attack on free speech. We need to draw the line very carefully when proscribing certain expressions, notably political expressions. Certain liberties will be curtailed during war time, but are we at war now? Are we always at war? Freedom of speech is a self evident good. By arguing against it, you prove its value. I absolutely can’t believe the open and brazen antisemitism.
