Carlos Vega was such a superb player. He had such a solid, yet loose feel. My heart broke when I heard the news of his passing.
Groove master, but you can just feel the music he made on drums.
Yep .... And the way that he died was very heartbreaking 🙏🏽😓
He is missed
What a.great drummer he was. You can feel his music
@@clydebermingham121 how did he die ? Wonderful player
These guys are true professionals in their field, and when such musicians are in the same room, a masterpiece is born.
RIP Dave Valentin.
Una gran perdida sin duda
They play live as perfect as the studio sessions…these guys are the best ! Time flies but the GRP years stays forever in my heart. I miss the early 90’s when I spend my time at the GRP records headquarters in NY with Tommy, Genevieve, Mark….
Way back in the mid 80s my brother and I both worked at the local radio station as DJs and my brother did evenings and he also got to do a Sunday Jazz Brunch show. Since he used a totally different set of CDs for his Sunday show, he'd bring them home and on the weekends we'd totally jam to jazz on our stereo. This was one of my favorite songs and it really brings back memories of those days.
dave crusin just the best
This song reminds me so much of Steely Dan, and If this had vocals, Steely Dan would be perfect.
👍🙂CARLOS VEGA kicking righteous arse! RIP…
Carlos and Dave, RIP. Great line up.
RIP Carlos Vega and Dave Valentin
It doesn't get much better than this and you are truly missed Carlos Vega, R.I.P.!
He's brilliant makes the drums look easy with his tequnique
素敵ですねぇ☀️良い~🌠音ひびいてま~す幸せ😃💕( ^▽^)
Don't know why, but these live performance was more better than the record. I think upbeat and fast tempo really represented of early morning spirit. Fresh and happy to start a brand new day.
Dave Valentin Made it better

OMG I love this! I haven't seen this in ages. Carlos Vega, Dave Valentin, Dave Grusin, and Lee Ritenour and lets not leave out Abraham Loborie and Larry Williamsl....Carlos Vega, huge loss to the jazz world. RIP!

This made me extremely happy
This song just takes me to another place. I love when this song comes to its breakdown and Lee Ritenour is playing the break nice and slow and then the rhythm picks up again.
Best live i ever heard!!
who's still watching in 2021
2022 watching here & have it on DVD & CD! 😎⚡️
I love this song. I bought a CD shortly after this music came out. It makes you want to dance.
I was looking at the credits for Laura Branigan's song "self control" because I love this track since it first came out so I see its this bad ass drummer Carlos Vega who I have never heard of so i plugged his name on youtube and found this gem of a video with the master Lee Ritenour which confirms Carlos is awesome. sadly, I discover him 20 yrs after he passed away. I hope he knows way up there he still making new fans today!! RIP Carlos!!

I've been listening to this song (and more) in 1989 in New York's CD 101.9 WCTB...❤
It was a time when the songs had the beautiful melodies...😊
Carlos Vega Love this play!
Incredibly recorded at GRP studios! Abe Laboriel, Probably the most recorded Bass player on the Planet
Dave Valentin was cute. :) so was Carlos!
Good shit
No dislikes. Says a lot about the level of intelligence of Lee Ritenour listeners..... Absolutelyperfect performance of perfect music !! Thanks for the upload....
There are 4 dislikes now, but they were looking for That Poppy videos.
This live version with dave valentin is amazing better than the original song recorded on studio for the album :)
This whole concert is the best ever from them i think. Also i think this is not only one of the best concert in this music genre, but one of the best concert ever in modern music era. One of best musicians in their best ages.
Totally agree

Carlos Vega!!
진짜 퓨전의 바이블
carlos vega con il suo latin fusion,da studiare
💕
Je suis par terre
Man, I just realized that Dave Grusin is look like Tommy Lee Jones
Or, does Tommy Lee Jones look a lot like Dave Grusin?
Smooth, tasty stuff. I need to up my dosage of jazz. Metheny and this is are about all I know at this point. Any other recommendations? It could be a little heavier too, towards fusion. There's a whole world that's still hidden from me.
EVERBODY LIKES SOUP
Carlos Vega
C. Vega from Caldera almost didn't recognize him
Yeah, remember Caldera. Vega became a pretty popular session guy in the eighties, I hear.
mamma mij
Is that Dave Grusin the same man than the composer of Colombo ost ?
Abe and Carlos the best rhythm ever other than Jeff AND Abe
Everybody like soup
Is that true that Lee ritenour are very old already?
臺視午間新聞股市行情
+Arnold Cheng Ki Lim 笑死 XDDD
因為這首歌曲使我當時喜歡看股市行情
Whoever did the video recording for this piece needs to give up and find another job.I really want to see Lee's hands when he is playing, and that is just not here at all.
Lee is a great guitarist and the band is brilliant.
yikes
