The second is as a test as to whether Mimic has crossed the Morality Event Horizon into irredeemable territory, and once they knew he had, they knew they needed to go all-in when fighting him, since talking him down was entirely off the table.

Interestingly enough the diamond cutters are the only named as well as "unique" characters to have died in the IDW continuity. Some food for thought that Eggman is already a murderer in IDW yet hasn't been locked up (yet).
@@terpsidance. in his defence, they are in a war and you're allowed to kill the enemy soldiers (or mercenaries) unless there are some specific situations are present.
Eggman has almost certainly killed people in the games too, with all of the collateral damage he produces. They just wouldn't show that for obvious reasons.
I know it's beating a dead horse, but seeing amazing character designs and side stories like the Diamond Cutters originate from the story in Forces really makes me feel like we missed something special from having that game turn out the way it did
You don't need a tragic backstory to be claustrophobic. I don't think they are just building to that with Tangle, I think it's just Introducing a new aspect to her. Claustrophobia is a thing actual people have for no reason in the real world, dude.
Thanks for posting! Some folks were saying otherwise and it made me start rly thinking about why it could be i'm claustrophobic, cuz nothing rly happened... but it's just that i simply am. Lol!
Whisper and Tangle have an opportunity in the IDW comics that other characters don't. They're a blank slate, completely new characters that aren't bogged down in the spotty history of Archie. They don't have any messy story arcs or convoluted backstory to try to ignore. They're completely original to the IDW series, making them a symbol for that property. They can be molded and shaped to fit this specific world which was created alongside them. IDW is a fresh start that the Sonic franchise doesn't get too often, and characters born in IDW will be a big part of how this story unfolds.
21:52 Ah yes, Starlight Zone theme, the number one music track that plays in my mind when I think, "revenge, kill, betrayal and loss and murder of friends"
Yeah... There's only so far the "don't kill your enemies" restriction could get you. Especially if said enemies refuse to reform or surrender. Looking at you Batman...
I think the plan might have been to distract Mimic long enough for Whisper to crack'im upside the back of the head. Or, perhaps trying to guilt him into surrendering was Tangle's idea, and Whisper was like... "Okay *racks shotgun*, that's plan A."
25:55 I feel you missed something kind of important. Tangle points out to Mimic that they're also keeping him from Eggman, so even if he were to escape he'll be hunted by the Doctor now as well.
Being a huge Metal Gear fan had this hit me on an other level. I was thinking of how things could have gone down if Foxhound went an other way. 'You're pretty good' had me in nostalgic tears. Loved it. Now go! Let the legend come back to life.
Would Mimic have even walked into that room if they’d set up a proper trap? He was explicitly looking around for one before confirming with Tangle, you can see that he’s already stumped as he walks through the doorway. Even if he hadn’t seen it from the outside and refused to go in, you can guarantee that he’d try to shove Tangle into the thing before or during the fight. The guy is clearly a trained professional, a proper trap is just giving him something to work with. The way it played out, Tangle got him isolated from Eggman’s forces in a small room with one exit, where he was forced to deal with his worst nightmare- a fair fight. The dude has nothing besides a serrated knife and trained combat fundamentals against Tangle’s tail, there’s a very real chance that he would’ve lost to her even without Whisper’s interference. So against someone like Mimic, the best trap one can make is no trap at all- but a trap that isn’t conventionally hostile is the next best thing, and a chance to verify that he has indeed crossed the moral event horizon. All of these are justifications in hindsight that should’ve been included by the writers to begin with, and they maybe should’ve geared up *for* the fight against Mimic… but the dude can still turn into Jewel, take your weapons, make you feel clumsy in that combat armor of yours, etc, so who knows. The guy is *really* good at making you look stupid. Also: - I don’t agree with others that there isn’t some source for Tangle trauma, but I don’t think it’s some elaborate tragic backstory. She and Jewel used to go on adventures, yeah? She might’ve just gotten trapped in a cave or something one time and Jewel had to fish her out. It doesn’t have to be a source of drama, it can just be something interesting to flesh out her character and show that she isn’t immune to consequences. - 26:55 The thing about repeating old lessons is that a new audience is learning them with each telling. Society has the memory of a goldfish.
I like that last point about repeating “learn a lesson/moral” tropes, particularly in children’s media. It makes sense. As long as humanity has told stories, we’ve told children ones that convey the virtues and messages that we want them to internalize from a very young age. It’s no different with kids’ media today. (I find it interesting to see how different minds go about telling those stories each a little differently. Using familiar tropes in a different setting for a different audience, etc. Sorta like one generation, possibly subconsciously, tweaking the tales they were told as kids for their own children. On a completely unrelated note, I enjoy anthropology lol)
Here's to Whisper and Tangle making a name for themselves. Hopefully we can see them accepted by Sega and placed in a game that doesn't involve Spinball. If they do make it into a game, I'd like it to be something that works for them. We don't need another Sonic Forces.
Perhaps a Sly-Cooper inspired spin-off game with Tangle and Whisper at the lead? And every now and again they will work on co-op missions with the Chaotix with Mimic as the overarching main villain and Jewel as they support (while Rough and Tumble are the secondary reoccurring villains/rivals?). I dunno I'm just spitting ideas out there.
Or maybe a prequel game with Whisper's old team: the Diamond Cutters. Those characters are probably one-shots, but I would be interested in seeing more of that story going parallel to Sonic Forces. Metal Gear Solid basically already did that with Big Boss, but it would be fun to see in Sonic.
Tangle could work wonders in a proper 3D Sonic game if her tail acted like the Chip Bracelet lasso from ‘Sonic Omens’ or even the Enerbeam from Sonic Boom.
I wonder what kinds of interactions that the IDW characters would have with characters from the Archie Sonic universe characters. Maybe Tangle would be vocal about having disdain towards Hamlin Pig.
Pre-boot Archie: starline and Dr fenitivus would've had a blast together as evil spacetime warping doctors Post reboot: starline definitely would've become an egg boss, and I could see mimic having connections to meropolis In either I could see the diamond cutters working for GUN, and tangle, whisper, and jewel leading one of the many localized FF groups
I just love the ideas around shapeshifters, they're very rarely actually on the heroes' side, so even tough Mimic was aparently never actually their friend, I liked the flashbacks involving him working with the Diamond Cutters, tough to be fair, the whole Diamond Cutters flashback part was amazing, too bad they're, well yeah, dead
I made a custom figure of Mimic as soon as the first issue came out, it was done before the second one was released (which prompted me to make some changes later on as I got the shape of his beak wrong.) I also really like the fact that he's not just an octopus, but specifically a MIMIC Octopus, a real life species of octopus that not only alters its appearance but also its behavior to imitate other species (mostly poisonous or venomous species such as lionfish and sea snakes.)
One thing that I don't see enough mentioning in regards to Tangle and Whisper's plan for mimic is that they're still children. Competent children who have all been through some shit, but still kids. It makes perfect sense for someone like Tangle's idea of a trap to be this big "GOTCHA" moment where someone's bad deeds get rubbed in their face, because at the end of the day she's an emotional kid who can't comprehend that someone could be so cold as to betray their closest friends and NOT feel guilt over it. Whisper too, really. She's a kid who watched her loved ones die and could do nothing about it, and she's preparing for her final confrontation with the parasite that made it happen. It makes perfect sense that she'd want to rub his face in it, even if just to confirm that he really was never their friend before they beat his ass.
25:48 I think the plan was to try and psychologically throw him off, they just made the mistake of believing that he actually cared about any of his teammates.
I love that the Ocelot is leaning way more into the Metal Gear references than the other members. Also, the Diamond Cutter’s base is clearly Mother Base. Noice
I would be worried about the fact that they got incinerated by mimic’s bombs, but they also survived getting thrown into a volcano, so I wouldn’t worry about them
the plan was to appeal to mimics better nature. Make him face what he did. It wasn't effective, but it does raise the question of if it shook him at all. Since he's always playing the part of someone else, maybe him saying he doesn't care is still a cover. it's far too early to tell. But yeah, plan was based on the idea that he used to be their friend, didn't work, but that's why whisper was there to back tangle up.
It shocks me how consistently good the new IDW characters have been. At worst they're just pretty good, and at best they're characters I actually want to see join the game canon.
On what you said about Tangle's claustrophobia and Mimic's character: I doubt they'll bring up a whole backstory for Tangle, I think everybody knows it'd be better to just leave her phobia as a trait. Negative traits of Sonic characters are never expounded upon because they frankly don't need to be in a game world, which IDW is modeled after. Go any further and it becomes more fanfiction/novelization type of stuff. It isn't BAD! But it isn't what the comic should go for. And this paragraph is to just GUSH about Mimic, my God, I love cold-blooded people in media and compared to the rest of the cast, Mimic does not play around at all. He will cut you and hang you out to dry and I really want him to become a significant danger to the main cast of characters. He's almost like if Shadow had some snark; getting the job done at any cost with lethal efficiency, but toying with the heroes' emotions all the way through. He reminds me of Clone Wars era Darth Maul, a character who knows how to gain power and how to exploit weakness, and as a young adult in the Sonic scene, it is immensely refreshing. Octo-Dad be damned, this guy is the deadliest catch.
It's funny how my favorite part of this video is the sponsor, just because seeing you get sponsors is such a magical fucking thing. Edit: Not gonna lie, I think it would have been a dark but amazing callback if she did end up blasting Mimic without ever showing it and Tangle just shouts "What... What did just you do?!" and as she walks away she just whispers "...Finished the job." It's cheesy, but I like cheesy edgy shit like that sometimes. Also, I think Tangle would be a better character if her phobia is just that-a phobia. Nothing special, no trauma, it's just a fear she has. It's irrational, it sucks, and she just has to live with it.
Tangles hidden claustrophobia is just really amazing I wanna know the root of that so much it's interesting and if I'm being honest I just wanna see more tangle
I'm under the impression that the whole battle plan for taking on Mimic was having him underestimate Tangle since he didn't know much about her. Like the whole bit with Tangle talking to Mimic about his former teammates was just to mess with his expectations. It's weird and off-putting, but that was the point of it. It was their own form of deception compared to Mimic's.
She probably passed out when she was in another enclosed space, and Jewel saved her. My impression is that Claustrophobia is basically Tangle's version of Sonic's hydrophobia.
Also I loved this side series, Whisper did become one of my top characters very quickly, I love her character and personality, and her friendship with Tangle is an emotional, but awesome one.
Whisper is objectively the best Sniper Wolf reference PERIOD, It's a literal WOLF WITH A SNIPER RIFLE. Also, deaths in this new IDW Universe are very brutal. Like, the Diamond Cutters where literally beaten to death in the best, or literally torn appart limb by limb (BO3 style) at worst.
Thought the mini series was amazing. It wholesome and dark in the right way. Thought your nitpicks are little petty and not sure what your hang ups are up with dark subjects. Guess matter of preference? Looking forward to more of this two.
It’s embarrassing how long it took for me to notice that it was metal gear since I have played every game multiple times. I love the your pretty good in the hologram. I’m not sure who smithy is, maybe Vulcan raven?
One detail I love: It's actually _Tangle_ who gets the final verbal win over Mimic. After he's boasting about how he'll bust out, Tangle points out that even *IF* he can... maybe he shouldn't? Because if he gets out, and Eggman finds him... he might be upset over all those wasted Badniks and yet ANOTHER failure to finish off the last Diamond Cutter; basically suggesting that Eggman's going to hunt him down if Mimic escapes and gets noticed. Mimic has no answer. He just glares and says that he dislikes Tangle _immensely._
You seemed to really have a problem with Tangle having Claustrophobia. I dont really think trauma has anything to do with it. Some people just really freak out in tight spaces and it's just really a kinda common fear. If anything it makes her a little more relatable. And it does make sense for Tangle to comfort Whisper because Tangle herself is a nice person and clearly cares for Whisper. But that's just how I see it, still loved your video tho. :)
The plan in the last issue was to trick Mimic to go inside the base for Tangle to distract him while Whisper was destroying the robots which she already did by the time Mimic got the upper hand against Tangle
This one made me fall in love with these characters, and fully hooked me on the comics. Whisper's definitely become one of my favourite Sonic characters of all time since this release, especially with things going forward in the Metal Virus arc. For me, like you mentioned - Tangle is the female Sonic, like Jewel is the female Tails. Sonic's full of heart, so of course Tangle's gonna be able to notice when it's the right time to wind down and have a heart to heart. It's what separate's her from the over peppiness of characters like Charmy. It's nice to see she can slow down when needed to, and she's not just another "all peppy all-rounder Sonic wannabe OC." And she's shown her affection for Jewel plenty, when the stakes where much lower regarding the Babylon's. So to me it makes sense. I know it's a pipe dream, but with all the hype for the comics, the comics taking place after Forces canonically (even if they aren't canon themselves, not yet anyway), the possible leaks of a Whisper plush, Tangle & Whisper in Sonic Forces Mobile... I really hope they can come to mainline games one day. Tangle's tail could replace the avatar's grapple SO easily, and Whisper could easily play as a far superior avatar as well, and she gives the Wisps purpose to stick around, too - even if I didn't want them, they fit so well with her weapon, I feel it'd be a crime to remove Wisps now.
Regarding Tangle playing psychiatrist, it seemed natural enough for me. Personally, I know a couple of people who remind me of Tangle, and they absolutely know how to pull it back and listen when their friends need it. It also looks like Tangle might have a bit of trauma herself, so she could believably be offering Whisper something that helped her.
i dont see a problem with whisper having a sad backstory- with tangle i get your complaints but i dont think theres anything wrong with giving characters deeper or more tragic backgrounds in a sonic comic- despite the fact that it is just a childrens sonic comic. The adventure series proves that easy enough Id think.
Yay, best couple! I really like this story, it feels really genuine between Tangle and Whisper's relationship. Edit: the talk is also follows a tension break coming from Whisper's yelling. I mean, if you're a friend of someone who's basically had an emotional breakdown, you'd realise you'd have to stop and listen.
Mimic, not the hero Mobius asked for but the hero Mobius needed. He's here to kick Chaos and chew bubblegum...and he's all out of bubblegum. I'll stop now.
Really loved this, very nice 4 part story. As for the battle plan, I'm pretty sure it was that, since Whisper had the superior long range weapon, she take out the robots, while Tangle weaponizes the ignorance and naivety Mimic knows she has as a means of distracting him. They counted on Mimic not killing Tangle till she lead the way to the main target, Whisper, because honestly that was the only one he needed to kill, then distract him until Whisper shows up and they double team him. That is my best guess, but do wish it was hinted upon otherwise it comes out as a random mess like you said. Even so, the chapter felt rushed, but satisfying in it's conclusion.
Awesome as ever my dude 💜 The only thing I will say is if you have been through an active combat situation, even as a civilian, there is shit that will stick with you and haunt you. It is not so far removed to assume that everyone in some way or another was deeply affected by Eggman's takeover. How or what that may be and how IDW handles it is where I'll wait to pass judgement, but yeah, I can sort of see why everyone is probably going to have... something going on.
I love how the photos mimic as sonic show a chao getting kicked, a babies candy being taken and spray painting. Chao getting kicked photos probs a reference too chao eggs being thrown at a wall so chaos hatch but probability that rhey will die The damn baby getting their candy taken is a famius phrase. "Its like taking candy from a baby" Spray paintings is a reference too graffiti which makes sense but my country is infamous with paintings (for my place it is cuz i see a big mural of random rhings out of spray paint geez.
HE SPONSORED WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT I liked this as a light backstory piece. It was a good breather since I read it during the Zombot arc. I'm looking forward to more of these two in the future. Also, Claire Voyance as a name has energy like "Espio" as a name and I wish like hell the Diamond Cutters weren't' posthumous characters.

Always love these, really brought some light into my exam week. Glad you got a sponsor too, and for epic gamer chairs st that! That’s like 100% more epic and gamer and chair than a regular sponsor!
I didn’t even realize there was a metal gear refence but like whisper is litterly a sniper wolf and now my mind is blown and the revolver oceleot refrence goes “your pretty good” and I spat out my water
With acts such as murder, creating the Metal Virus, and saying things like "If you don't finish the job, I'll finish you.", I expect that one of these days Sonic is gonna' get a real good shot in on Eggman and reveal that underneath those glasses are a pair of pitch black voids with two piercing red pinpricks in them.
I love Whisper's story, she reminds me of Niko Bellic of all characters 😂 They were both young soldiers, Niko being a teenager. They both got betrayed by a teammate, and both go on a revenge mission to eliminate that former teammate. All Whisper needs is an annoying cousin to take bowling
It could just be that Tangle was referring to a past time when her claustrophobia triggered a panic attack. For all we know, she got stuck in a port-o-john, panicked and passed out from the stress. Phobias can do stuff like that.
The metal gear references are so incredible: The Diamond Cutters being a reference to the Diamon Dogs and every member of Foxhound The Ocelot being Ocelot, literally saying "You're Pretty good!" and spinning their revolvers The Bear being Vulcan Raven with a big ol minigun The Monkey basically being Psycho Mantis with their psychic abilities Whisper basically filling the role of sniper wolf Mimic as the oft forgot Decoy Octupus, literally living up to the namesake. The base being the Big Shell from MGS2 I may just be a MGS Junkie but it's so nice to see one of my favorite series referenced in this little comic, in a cute and unique way.
Props to Ian using an octopus shapeshifter instead of a Chameleon but yeah I'd have blown his head off "Down to his level" nothing he's a dangerous shapeshifter working for Eggman who has killed and will kill again that's just pragmatic But whatever kid book gotta keep that rating
I don't think Tangle is going to have any kind of _trauma_ in her backstory, I think she's just intensely claustrophobic. And yeah, the way they dealt with Mimic was forcedly kiddie, but it's aimed at kids and it was kind of obligatory. It established for Tangle that he doesn't even care, he's unrepentantly cold-hearted and therefore (from the standpoint of our noblebright heroes) irredeemable. For Saturday morning cartoon morality, at least it was well done and made you feel for Whisper even more. As for Tangle being "Ian's mouthpiece"...I haven't watched/listened to the Bumblecast, so I don't hear his voice there, but it sounds like he's a good friend. It's my instinct to want to help my friends talk through what's bothering them when they're upset. I don't have the extroversion or articulate-ness to be able to compel them to talk if they don't want to (even if they need to), but I let them know I'm always around if they want/when they're ready. It's not an instant cure-all, but talking about things with someone that you know cares about you can help more than you'd think. Hopefully for Tangle it won't end up being anything more than "always hated tight places". She's enough of a goofball that I could see her telling people it was because of a dream she had once though. Something that can be played for laughs. Tangle: "It looked like it was the end..." Audience: "Then what...?!" Tangle: "I woke up. Turned out I'd somehow dug my head _into_ my pillowcase with the pillow still in it...." Funny picture of Tangle with her head in a pillow: *exists*.
I think my favorite thing about mimic is the correlation to the real animal, the mimic octopus! I love marine biology, so knowing Mimic is based on one is really cool... Also, a fun design detail is Mimic's "horns" Real mimic octopie [Octopusses?] have horns protruding near their eyes! And obviously, mimic octopie can also mimic different species of fish! Lionfish, sea snakes, jelly fish, all sorts of guys!
idk if anyone else gets this, but it's somewhat more enjoyable to read the comics for yourself and then come back to apologist-s video-s to sort of re-read them, in a sense.
I don’t really think there’s supposed to be some tragic backstory or trauma for Tangle... I think she’s just supposed to be claustrophobic.

I find it interesting just how much better Mimic's disguises into people he knows or who are present nearby are than into people he doesn't. His Sonic disguise is hilariously bad, but then his Whisper disguise especially is really good. That disparity is just neat.

Interestingly enough the diamond cutters are the only named as well as "unique" characters to have died in the IDW continuity.
Some food for thought that Eggman is already a murderer in IDW yet hasn't been locked up (yet).
He was, but it wasn't for very long since, y'know, amnesia.

You don't need a tragic backstory to be claustrophobic. I don't think they are just building to that with Tangle, I think it's just Introducing a new aspect to her. Claustrophobia is a thing actual people have for no reason in the real world, dude.
I know right I feel like Nick’s rant about Tangle’s Claustrophobia was pretty weak bc people can have a fear without having a Tragic Backstory.

Tangle’s expression on the thumbnail is gold
Also:
- I don’t agree with others that there isn’t some source for Tangle trauma, but I don’t think it’s some elaborate tragic backstory.
The best trap is a sealed arena.
Well they’re in the mobile games as of now. Baby steps.

I wonder what kinds of interactions that the IDW characters would have with characters from the Archie Sonic universe characters.
Maybe Tangle would be vocal about having disdain towards Hamlin Pig.
I feel like Dr Starline would have a very unhealthy obsession over Nicole... :/
I'm sure Starline would join the Egg Bosses.
Pre-boot Archie: starline and Dr fenitivus would've had a blast together as evil spacetime warping doctors
Post reboot: starline definitely would've become an egg boss, and I could see mimic having connections to meropolis
In either I could see the diamond cutters working for GUN, and tangle, whisper, and jewel leading one of the many localized FF groups
Tangle would probably think Sally is really cool, considering she seems to have a liking for princesses.
7:53 oh snap it's Baby Walrus from Sonic Boom, whoever thought to include that is great for this one, if intentional lol
if I learned anything today, it's that Tangle and Whisper is one of the most precious duos in the series
6:13 oh no whisper. She is so cute. I love her so much and her friendship with tangle is so sweet.
Ahaha I love how you giggle at all the silly faces and funny exchanges. It’s such a genuine reaction and it really made me love the review :)
Noice
I mean if any of them were gonna do that it would be Ocelot, y'know the guy who showed up in all 5 Solid games
I never realized that Scratch and Grounder were laying in that bunker until right now. Wow. Thanks for pointing that out, Nick.

“Whisper, the scout.”
“These guys were an anti-eggman mercenary team”
Whisper: If you were from, where I was from, you’d be frickin dead.
“Like my friends”
On what you said about Tangle's claustrophobia and Mimic's character:
I doubt they'll bring up a whole backstory for Tangle, I think everybody knows it'd be better to just leave her phobia as a trait.
What did just you do?!" and as she walks away she just whispers "...Finished the job."
It's cheesy, but I like cheesy edgy shit like that sometimes.
Maybe it’s just me but I never read Tangle’s claustrophobia as part of some tragedy. Just a quirk of her’s
She says, "can't pass out again." Something happened.
I think theyre more than friends
Whisper is objectively the best Sniper Wolf reference PERIOD, It's a literal WOLF WITH A SNIPER RIFLE. Also, deaths in this new IDW Universe are very brutal. Like, the Diamond Cutters where literally beaten to death in the best, or literally torn appart limb by limb (BO3 style) at worst.
This is the best Tangle & Whisper Mini-Series, I love it!
Here they are revealed even better!
Yep, all that's missing is a snake character
4:20 tangles expression had to be toned down a lot. She was anime levels of sparkle eyed.

It's awesome
The plan in the last issue was to trick Mimic to go inside the base for Tangle to distract him while Whisper was destroying the robots which she already did by the time Mimic got the upper hand against Tangle
Whisper my favorite and she deserve to be in the mainline games. Her voice should be somewhat similar to Blaze.
13:02 saying tangle is "safe" is an almost mandatory pun for this issue
i dont see a problem with whisper having a sad backstory- with tangle i get your complaints but i dont think theres anything wrong with giving characters deeper or more tragic backgrounds in a sonic comic- despite the fact that it is just a childrens sonic comic. The adventure series proves that easy enough Id think.
If we ever get another Sonic Heroes type game I want there to be a team of Tangle (speed), Whisper (power) and Jewel (flight)

This probably doesn't matter a ton but I like that Smithy's Wispon looks like the Heavy's Minigun Sasha from TF2.

i dont know if its how adorable whisper is or your enthusiasm but im really falling in love with these two
Really loved this, very nice 4 part story.
I'm disappointed that none of Whisper's old teammates was a snake (If you didn't know the team is based off of characters from the metal gear series)
A little on the nose for a reference, no?
They already weren’t allowed to have a mantis, a snake that isn’t evil is just beyond the imagination of most corporations.
Also I think if they tried to make a snake in the modern Sonic artstyle it'd look too much like Vector

Tangle is awesome. And Whisper I'd love to see more of. Hopefully them being in that Dash game is baby steps to sega implementing them in a main title
I love Whisper's story, she reminds me of Niko Bellic of all characters 😂
They were both young soldiers, Niko being a teenager.
The metal gear references are so incredible:
The Diamond Cutters being a reference to the Diamon Dogs and every member of Foxhound
The Ocelot being Ocelot, literally saying "You're Pretty good!" and spinning their revolvers
The Bear being Vulcan Raven with a big ol minigun
The Monkey basically being Psycho Mantis with their psychic abilities
Whisper basically filling the role of sniper wolf
Mimic as the oft forgot Decoy Octupus, literally living up to the namesake.
The base being the Big Shell from MGS2
I may just be a MGS Junkie but it's so nice to see one of my favorite series referenced in this little comic, in a cute and unique way.
Imagine a new heroes style game with Tangle, Jewel and Whisper as a team
25:17 the metal gear references, I'm screaming

That amused me greatly. XD
Hope to see more of these two and Rough and Tumble too
“Toot toot diamond cutters “ oh no, I am dead or locked away somewhere or roboticized or something
Tangle: "It looked like it was the end..."
Audience: "Then what...?!"
Tangle: "I woke up. Turned out I'd somehow dug my head _into_ my pillowcase with the pillow still in it...."
Funny picture of Tangle with her head in a pillow: *exists*.
I think my favorite thing about mimic is the correlation to the real animal, the mimic octopus! I love marine biology, so knowing Mimic is based on one is really cool...
Also, a fun design detail is Mimic's "horns"
Real mimic octopie [Octopusses?] have horns protruding near their eyes!
You sound like what I imagine Pro-Jared’s cousin would sound like.
Tangle doesn't need a sad backstory moreso just a happy one. Please don't hurt the lemur Ian *please.*
As for Whisper..oh my GOD- that was a dark one.
I've been a sonic fan since childhood and never really read the comics, glad this series exists.
