    This is a feat of engineering! It sounds just like a real OC p5!!
    The only problem is having the price being so close to a real train horn, I don't think I could justify buying basically a more fragile P5 at the same cost. (but I understand it probably wasn't cheap to develop this). Don't get me wrong, this is really cool! That 0 bell is a godsend for those who want the sound of one but can't afford a real one.

      The price isn’t 100% set yet. I do understand what you mean though. Also you are correct about the 0 bell! I have a feeling that’s going to be a popular print! And yes many hours and lots of work went into this design.

    You should try mounting this to the horn mount under your car to do a long term durability test.

    Damn that's good 👍

  • @N4CR

    damn that sounds good. I could print these on my rig at home as it's basically an industrial printer at high end consumer price and will print PETG easily. I'd even look at something hardier for the shell. TPU is also easy to print if you know what you are doing... Would need to make the longer horns in 2 parts though.
    Edit: they are 2 piece lol, might be using similar machine then.
    edit: they are using an FLSUN V400 printer lol. Has a slightly taller print bed but less speed/quality/material handling than mine. It's interesting they still made it 2 parts, I think they had innacuracy/layer shift when doing the long ones in one hit ;)
    Now I want to make my own horns from scratch and not replicate a design. I know guys getting 3d printed designs in plastic up to 500psi or higher in racing applications. It can handle it without going to exotic materials ;)

    Ferromex didn't have old cast P5 anyting. Ferromex uses New Cast P5 for GP40-2 3024 (FNM scheme) in 2012, not old cast.

    I really like the idea of this but this would not last. I have 3d printed many things and strength always lacked. If ya were to bolt this somewhere and hit a hard bump or bump into it you would easy snap a bell off. If they made stronger plastic this would be worth the price.

    • @barrioscorona215
      @barrioscorona215 Год назад +2

      PETG is pretty strong, I've been running 3D printed car parts and they hold up really good. However I am worried about the long one though.

      Maybe if you put them in a small metal cage they would be more protected? Or mount it on the interior of whatever the vehicle is.

      "hard" TPU never breaks. Not sure it works acoustically though.

    • @masterbower6083
      @masterbower6083 4 месяца назад

      See, my biggest concern was just the length, expeeshilly to put this under a vehicle like most people do. I have seen aluminum bells get chipped or broken. Plastic would not stand a chance expeisly exposed to road elements.

    So may I suggest the name (much to my buddy's, the manufacture, dismay) we refer to these horns as "Print-Cast"?
    I'm sat here contemplating what I can give up on in order to afford one of these. He's done such a good job on them and, assuming he's still on with the idea, has lined up that I should get SN-0 (I think it was funny, and he agrees).
    Also, not sure if he's asked about this, but it was something I was always curious about: Could you possibly do a video of mixing these bells in with Nathan P horns, both new and old, so as to see how well they blend in on a mix-cast horn?

    • @TheHornKing
      @TheHornKing  2 года назад

      That’s an interesting idea mixing them. Yea I’ll try that out in a future video. And thanks for the “print cast” term. I’ll throw that in the description. And yes I agree. So much work went into this print. It’s defiantly visible when looking at these in person.
