oh my god, that last game... the ending!!!! there's something very satisfying about someone knowing their outs and playing to them, and it working out. wow, wow wow wow. poor filipa! amazing job cgb!!!!
That last game is a masterclass demonstration of playing to your outs, and also proof that, yes, in a deck where you can reliably get them, situational one-ofs are enough. To quote cgb after it was brought up that he should have more stifles in the deck(on stream), “One was enough”.
What a lesson. Gotta be fun playing all the old bangers.. I've been on the other side of a string like that a few times and it sucks so sit there, but you actually start rooting for them by the 3rd or 4th play.
The last game is why I love Vintage. Such a shame that we only get to play something along these lines in a format with the scourge of MTG Arena, namely Digital-Only Cards (also known as Alchemy) :/
I've played THREE creatureless control decks so far today. If you tried to play a deck like this at your LGS, no one would play with you. However, on Arena, there's no downside to being abusive and winning by getting your opponent to concede rather than continue playing. You've created a game where being the bigger jerk is the best way to win the game.
Don’t care about alchemy that much since theres only 2-3 good alchemy cards. Cards like jet collector are pretty tame design wise and don’t go too far into the random alchemy nonsense
It would be cool to have both Brawl and Timeless without Digital-Only Cards (Alchemy). And this is not because of power level, this is a matter of principle; I'm here to play MTG, not Hearthstone or card games with Digital-Only mechanics. That's not the play experience I and the majority of the playerbase want to have, and it's a shame we have to suffer them in the Eternal formats we want to play, and the devs just ignore the loud and ever present feedback about this.

It was fantastic! A little ruined by the fact that he literally threw away a 3/3/ flyer at the end for no reason.
@@theoneandonlyflexo and the Oracle before that which would also be lethal
Bro, what a epic game of Magic.

When you time walk and draw 15 cards only one stiffle is enough
@@laytonjr6601 yeah which is what the deck was built to do.
The last game summarizes why I love playing blue!
All that decision making in the last game and leaving your opponent waiting, You could say you... Blue-balled her.
Last game is a master class. I would have quit a long time ago. Really what MTG is all about!
One is not zero intensifies!
Last game vs Filipa was awesome. Breathtaking. I would have honestly scooped. I guess that’s the difference between a great player and an average one.
Opponent is at 1 with a one ring trigger.
I would have scooped when he got out of the situation however
Filipa blue(s) ... :) - great last game!
Blue at its finest
Cgb: oh dear, i uh ... Might die.
Cgb: i guess its time to time walk until i win?!
CGB wins: sorry
Lol. That last game was fantastic.
now THAT'S playing to your outs!

I love Matches Malone so much, cool to see you guys play a match. I'd love to see you guys do a video together!
Manadrain, The one ring and pitch spells…
This format’s power creep is at different level.
CGB, more Timeless content plz!
It's funny that when Convert Goes Blue, he plays all kinds of colors, but when Convert Goes MTG, he plays Mono Blue
"what's the wincon? Cast time walk over and over"
That's not a wincon (even if most people will resign), but oracle of the alpha beatdown works
Universes Beyond cards on the official magic channel? Legal gonna be in Blake’s office on Monday morning 😅

My head hurts after that,lol
I haven't watched Magic in years and after watching that I have a headache as well. It was a great match though.
great video! And if people could stop playing the same elf deck in historic, that would be great! I feel better now :D :D
it’s all blue?! always has been
Love it!
Wow, epic.
Bonkers!
Timeless is so crazy
delney confirmed on top of op's library.
Oracle of the Alpha makes me sick
1. match is that posties arena account ??
It's mtg malone
@@bodramdolbert8158 lol matches malone seemd to fit
Yeah, I believe mtg malone took the name from Batman or something ^^
Tamiyooooo 🤍🤍🤍
It's technically simic.
This is a very, ahem, _blue_ comment :)
This deck desires a couple reliquary towers or wizard classes or something
why BO1?

Half of my games today have come against abusive players.
The cards are in the game, it's not abusive at all
I've played the same abusive players multiple times in a row.
@@FrenchCanadianGuy Their wincon is 'Piss off my opponent until they concede.' It's abusive.
@@BrotherAlpha it's part of the game baby baby

Alchemy cards are far less stupid and broken than the evoke cycle

@@RafaelAAMerloso go play MTG. Nothing’s stopping you.
Strong agree
Was going to watch... Then I saw Oracle of the Alpha, an alchemy card. Nah, I'm not interested.
go fix your game first wizards. Your new season has an expensive second season pass and way too strong cards in it.
The thing he does where he pops his face out full screen to put a button on a "clever" or "fun" line is SO ANNOYING.
its all rigged
I fast forwarded that second game because it was lost anyway.
Actually he won that game.
You must scoop scoop a lot
If you're trolling, you're a master at it. I salute you.
Boring.
