Where's the busa
Standing by whilst I paint the Harley!
HI Del (and Penny P!)... I know everyone is asking about the Busa build, but in my opinion, you're doing the right thing (as always)... Not everyone is into a build project, so it keeps those people happy, and most importantly, enables you to step back, take time to breath, take on ideas, and refresh your own energy into the build.
The music is also seeming to be Marmite, but I love that too, and that fact that you're getting publicity for musical talent in the process.
I've been glued to your channel for many years now, and always look forward to seeing your latest video.

Man I have watched your videos for a long while now and have to say your videos have gotten better in quality also your Garage has grown like a child to mature! Good job! I am a 42 year powersports mechanic and self employed I like your work ethics do it right ! I am going to say I bet in this stage of your channel video subject is getting to be the tough part! I also admire your attention to detail! Good Job! Keep it up! Also lol you put enough screws in the hanger to hang a bike from it! Also I am so glad to see you use good paint and get away from the spray cans! I have been shooting paint with a gun fro years in my own garage without a booth I guess where you live you can not do that! I get good results without a booth I choose time of day no bugs and a day with no wind and around 24C I also color sand with 1200 and 2000 and buff the clear so it turns out killer anyway every time.
I enjoy the creative stuff too. Very cool.

There for a min Del was going to recommend a Mr. Rogers closet. Then you can hang your jacket and put on a sweater. But I really like what you did with the spare parts. Looks really cool. Love to have one in my garage.

Del what's happening with the Hayabusa build
Just on hold buddy, had a few jobs to do, this being one of them, and been given a fabulous opportunity to use a pro- paint shop and spray booth, so am going to be painting my Harley as am fed up with it now anyway (the paintwork that is!), and then back to the Busa once that's done, couple of weeks mate!

More than that buddy, you'll get a before, during and after! Am filming the whole thing and they kindly going to let me take the cameras in to the spray booth... very exciting project!

Looking forward to the painting, often wonder what my paint would look like with the proper kit. Hired a compressor and gun once but it was still outside and I was only 17 so it wasn't that great tbh😆

I wondered for a long time why you don’t have a parts washer, maybe you didn’t have room before. I recently bought a 20 litre one to make sure I had one big enough for engine parts etc.
Had it for years mate, Penny bought it for me ages ago, just never got round to using it!
Love it. I have most of that stuff in a box in my garage apart from the Balti dish lol but no idea how to weld. Also have a transit that needs patching in places before the mot, but I'm a bit apprehensive to just buy a welder with no clue how to weld lol.
Well that's what I did buddy (bought a welder with no idea how to weld!), so dragged out some scrap and started snotting it together, and here I am today, doing little better, but at least it stays in one piece!
Yup it's how we all start, the one skill you can only learn by doing it and practicing A LOT. Go for it you will not be sorry you did..

I do all my own maintenance, which usually means I end up with a collection of random bits of hardware that are no longer needed. It’d be really neat to weld them into something great. Any recommendations for a welding machine, for a neophyte?
Yes mate, go for it, it's lots of fun... and there are no limits to what you can create. Just get yourself a basic hobby MIG welder with the gas bottle is better, as the wire is a fraction of the price of the flux core wire, you may even find a second hand one, otherwise Sealey do a huge range of welders for the hobbyist and a great back up service.

Music was interesting but hey to each his own, actually was a kinda funny song. Have a question not related to this but since you are the man figured I would ask. I am painting a gas cap cover and used what I had which was Rustoleum engine spray paint that is supposed to be oil and fluid resistant and used Dupont engine enamel gloss clear and then let is set for 2 days and tested with a drop of gas and paint bubbled, what paint and clear coat do you use in a rattle can..Thank you so much.
In the end Byron, if you want the best solution then its professional 2k paint, cured in a low bake oven....but most of us don't have access to that.. so as a second option, i painted my Harley with Simoniz Acrylic paint and lacquer, the can claims that its oil and petrol resistant.. and i have to admit, that ive had it on my Harley for 18 months, and split the odd splash of fuel on it with no reactions...! worth a punt maybe.?

Really like these vids but I wish you wouldn't play that music over the top. Not my cup of tea. You should redo the basic vids that got you started, tyre punctures, how to service your bike, bar ends replacement, all the basic stuff that helped me when I started out. Thanks to you I changed oil, coolant, and had the balls to say yeah I can that. So cheers Del.
