A 420 reference on Larson Farms 😂 My life is now complete 🤘🏻🇺🇸🦅💨
Have to say I really enjoy Chet and Eric working/fooling around together. Definitely like my brother from a different mother.
Ive watched this video about half a dozen times. The way Brodie turned his head and looked at eric when he said "ur not Chet" funny as heck ........... Brodie is the man 👍.
The training is on You. A chunk of Kibble is a fine treat.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Your new air compressor is a dandy. Very nice machine. Glad you got all new lines and connections. Super setup now.
The new system should serve the shop very well.
Neat that you can combine Deere and Case data fields. That should be helpful regardless of that tractor you are in. Nice setup guys.
Thanks for everything Chet. Thanks for showing us the new air system.
You all take care and be safe.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
Yes, putting a receiver (air tank) at the other end of the line will noticeably increase the pressure and volume available. Good job for the old tank.
There is but one real God. You choose to call Him Allah. The problem is that Muhammad didn't have all the information available to us now. Do you take the writings of one man, or that of several witnesses?
A compressor increases pressure, accumulator(tank) increases volume. When you add more volume, you need to factor the load and the compressor used, the compressor may still not be able to keep up with the load, and the increase in load by having to maintain the additional volume. .
Adding a receiver at the far end makes more volume available. Large loads, like big impact guns or tire blasters, benefit for a short period of time, particlarly if the work is far from the compressor with a relatively small line.
Do yourself a favor and get an hour meter added to the compressor so you can keep track for oil changes, and an auto drain is nice so you can't forget to drain the water and end up with water in the lines 👍
Erik - that's what us Uncle's are for - to spoil our nieces/nephews....even if they are of the K9 variety!
...and nice save on the 4:20 remark haha
For a Reciprocating Compressor Maintenance Record for Service go to McGuire Air Compressors Graham NC . Very helpful for the future .
Hey Brody - hope you made some good progress on your storm clean up, rough stuff to go through and having things orderly and cleaned up again does wonders for the soul :)
our shop has a 500 gallon propane tank outside the shop.. It has a 1/2 inch air hose hooked to it and comes thru the wall and hooks into the air line.. The longer a compressor runs and the less times it needs to start the longer the motor and head will last.. The air goes out and comes back in as needed.. It works fantastic
And your air smells of propane, forever . . . I converted an old pre-OPD BBQ tank to an air tank and now 10 years later that smell is still coming out of it!
@@redmondjpbuy a new tank
@@realredditstories420 because it has residual odorant in it?
I made a comment a few videos ago saying alot of us worry about you guys and hope for a good crop. Got some bad comments from some haters. I’m an old man and don’t want to listen to that crap. Still pulling for you guys but won’t be commenting anymore. Good Luck And God Bless!!
Always improving, always making the process better. The traits of a well run business. 💪👍🏼
You guys have a man basket thing and you are using a pallet on a tow motor nice
Nice to hear you are much quieter and very much safer!
Oh boy, how we love deliveries of NEW stuff! Get Brody here now, he has that special CDL license that he paid for on some internet website for $10. How fortunate you have been that that old PVC pipe never cracked and exploded. God Bless new expensive and safe aluminum piping. So glad you also opted for full installation too! Hope they took the old one with them! And now we have tractors of different makes talking to each other - let's get some Boston Dynamics robots to do the farming. Great video as usual.
Make a Sound Blocker from mezzanine to the floor and lined with acoustic tiles or sound absorbing foam pads, leave lots of vents around the sides and hinged to check the oil and belts.
sure hope y'all can get the tractors to start talking to one another. Great video Guys
Thanks for another great video.
my one question is why do your grandparents have a stroller.....i saw that in the boat! nice job on the air compressor!
Hope your new compressor works out well for you and that you're safer with the lines upgraded.
Brody is one hell of a hired hand. I think the farm should get him a nice pickup truck.
People like Brody are hard to come by. Plus its a write off for the farm. Hope you give it a thought Chet.
Brody already has a brand new truck.
Get the Automatic Drain Valve for the compressor tank. 🎉 Runs when it cycles.
Good Day Everybody! I was wondering if you could change your Opening Introduction View of the Farm Operation to a Summer Scene and get rid of the Winter Snow then in Winter you can use it again. Otherwise I really enjoy you all doing the Farm Operations. 👍
Eric is going to find his Impala up on blocks with parts stripped off with Brodie smiling while he fixes his Impala 😄
🤣🤣🤣
The last thing case and jd did the same was drawbars. They both had drawbars in order to hook up implements:)
You could probably build a removable wall to surround the compressor to make it even quieter.
420 on Friday. Must be a beer and pizza night. :)
Enjoy the way You Guys all have fun in these videos. Thanks for another great video.
I've got an Atlas Copco 20 horse power scroll compressor with chiller and air dryer. It's probably cost a bit ore than what you paid for your piston compressor. I needed both pressure and volume for a sandblast cabinet, and the scroll is quiet and will run for thousands of hours.
If you guys still have your old compressor, remove the electric motor and the compressor head and re-use the tank in the other shop. Adding tank capacity is a good way to make a lower horse power compressor do more with less.
One thing I would add to your system are drip legs with a water separating filter. And yes, you'll still get moisture in the air as the air changes temperature along the way. Install the drip leg with filter just before the manifold with the quick connect fittings.
Larson Farms got their monies worth of the old air compressor!
Great show!
I'm surprised you guys didn't opt for a screw compressor; those old reciprocators are pretty much consigned to hobby use over here. Screws are much more efficient, reliable, and tons quieter. You should look at an air drier as well, either refrigerated or dessicant, to protect your system and tool, etc..
Always a good day to log in and see a Larson Farms video! Thanks again, guys. (BTW...still kinda loud...)
Good stuff guys
Just saw the Heelkit 3-wheeler in the shop. Man does that bring back some awesome memories. We had the three wheeler and mini-bike on the farm, growing up. Lots of fun and work with them.
Carl Heald. Can’t beat them
Where's Toby been? Such a great air compressor upgrade.
That is a very nice and big air compressor. That should our last Chet for sure. That is amazing that John Deere and Case IH will talk to one another now. That is crazy cool.
When I rented my atuo repair shop in 1972 the compressor lines were inadequate, rusty steel. Replaced all with 1/2" schedule 40 pvc and got alot of nay-sayers that disagree. 2 inground car hoists, and hours of 1/2 impact wrenching, etc. New Champion 60 gal, 240v 2 stage in 1988, Standard 160 psi line pressure, and no rust, never had to repair, 41 years later sold out.
Should have bought a rotory screw compressor. Much higher output per HP. A 10HP will make the same air as a 20 HP piston pump. Would have been perfect for your shop. Ultra quiet. In the industrial facility I managed we had two 150HP and one 200HP Quincy compressors. Now that is one whole lot of CFM. We reclaimed the heat off the compressors and could heat the 160,000 sq ft building they were in. We ran them 24/7 for our production.
Good job guys I put that pipe in my shop last year good stuff.
Chet if your having water issues in your compressor, we have a air dryer plumbed into the system. It cycles when needed and there is no water in the system. Not sure the cost but it’s well worth it
also put a water filter right after the output of compressor so it traps the water before u get to the hose
Worked in a shop that had the blue/aluminum pipe installed owner was trying to save money and had the drops made with 1/2" pipe would not let enough air flow for the 3/4 and 1 inch impacts to run so cost him to have them come out and install 1 inch between every other door big 14 bay JD dealership nice little setup you have now
what a great way to end my work day thanks guys. new compressor looks and sounds much nicer then the other one, great timming for the upgrade.
LOVE YOUR SHOW, Could watch it for hours.
Enjoyed watching the video 😊
Chet Dougo Eric Broodie that was so great really enjoyed it and great explanations on the air compresser and the case up date compatible with John Deere thank you.
Magnifique atelier de mécanique et le compresseur et le montage de tubes est bien intéressante 😮😊
Should have checked about an air dryer on the compressor, we put a truck air dryer on the one at the shop I worked at
Hi Chet, add the old air tank in the system for more volume, if it is OK to use.
It is interesting to hear you are going to use Case for your electronic equipment. My niece is married to a man who works for Case doing the computer side of farming. His name is Tahd McGinnis. You may have dealt with him. Glad to see you have a new compressor - that should last for many years. Thanks for the video.
Add the tank, you'll love the added supply!! We have a 46cfm rotary unit, and 120 gallon extra tank. 240 gallons total supply, and never loose pressure! You would love it with the large impact guns, and the huge tires you have!
When i was in the market for a compressor look at many too but one always checked all of my questions i asked for an INGERSOLL RAND AIR COMPRESSOR, ROTARY SCREW, HIGH PERFORMANCE, HIGH EFFICIENCY, W/DRYER, 150 PSI, 575 V, 10 HP land up have 2 of them put into they did the piping as well so we had one couple fault on use i have the repair kit for it hand too not long to hand it fixed too
they come out to the farm here to service them too
Made is Mexico
It's 5 o'clock somewhere big Suede
BIG SWEED 420 Holy Smoke-------"
Love that “Hillary for prison 2016” sticker on the shop door! 😂
I been watching since the beginning yall came along way keep up the great work
Thanks for sharing
Your video's are so much fun!! I do look forward to seeing the next one!!
The size of the unit always matters! For those who know you know
Exactly!
Yes on the extra Air Tank, but air up in the morning will take longer to come up to pressure
good job
Hey its so hot in north texas Aug 17 only 113 today same for sat n Sunday I cannot even grown weeds on the plowed fields
Hope doug O enjoys the new air compressor they probably sell extra tanks n put one in the other shop n have a bunch more hot air in there glad the crops are looking good
Great job. I would turn that red tank into an aux tank for other areas.
Pipe looks the same as Parker trans air, we use it at the factory I work at, great stuff, easy to install
Good show
I can tell you first hand the aluminum air line is a great choice, easy to install and never rusts. I have played a part in getting this in 3 of our service buildings and some of our installs we float the main line and on occasion get a leak. Great looking compressor your intercooler should work fairly well but if you do get water add a air dryer to your system that will stop any water problems. Be sure to build a bypass between the compressor and dryer in case you need to work on the dryer. Great system you will be happy you did this.
Aluminium corrodes, which is not that different to rust...
@@agentcrmyou said it one thing ford forgets to mention on advertisements of all aluminum body. Salt will rot that sucker out faster then steel will rust. Just a sales pitch for tricking people.
@@agentcrm Aluminum does corrode but not in the presence of oxygen.
Yes Doug you can put an auxiliary tank in the shop I have mine set up then I took 22 inch bong out and then ran 3 ft of 2in pipe out of it into an air dryer filter and then to a hose constant pressure all day long a 30 gallon air compressor with a 40 gallon tank in the shop
I'd say that air tank ought to get you there.
Run 150 psi in my shop, just use steel black pipe for the main air lines in the ceiling. The AL lines took really cool and easy to put together.
Why did they do a bottom drop on the hose reel. You had it correct when you had the PVC installed. DIRT AND WATER love down taps.
There is a BLUE ONE. I think it's a GREAT BEGINING.
Love seeing that Earnhardt flag!!!
Funny, eric asks the man Brodie if he has a CDL...... Brodie is a jack of all trades and a master at what he does. If every farmer had a hired hand as skillful as Brodie, there would be alot more happier farmers out here. As far as the air compressor, go big or stay on the porch. I remember many videos back of when Dougo was having a CHOICE conversation with the old one. Glad to see the upgrade.
Not bashing on eric, but Brodie is the pinnacle of a hired man.
"jack of all trades and a master at what he does". I'll be using that when I go for my pay raise. That's gotta be worth more than jack of all trades and a master of none.
The full phrase is “a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” It was a compliment.
I always used it as a compliment but never knew the whole phrase, thanks. @@tadhgosullivan9099
@@Mcgiever100jack of all trades and a master of none, but always better than a master of just one.
Chet I really hate to ask this question, maybe I missed an episode but I just noticed where is the little beagle of yours? I hope he is still with us, please let me know if you will, and I really am sorry and hoping to hear good news,,,
Software --- Nicely done; can't wait to see the field lines come on in the field.
(suggest implement width input with a +/- baseline algorithm)
That's a nice upgrade on the air compressor. Seemed to take a long time to get in
Good info as I’ve been wanting to run some piping for my small shop and compressor. I see folks commenting on pvc but this was acceptable by OSHA prior to 1988 (after their old system install). After watching I just gonna get a big real with long hose since I don’t have a shop that’s the size of a Walmart like the Larson farm needs.
Kinda like we learned that having kiddos sleep on rear car window deck wasn’t a good idea.
If your still worried about the sound you should build sound proofed walls around it that's how we did it in our shop and it is nice.
We have a pair at my work that run alternately on demand for nearly 30 years. Just keep the oil changed every 90 days. I cant recall the brand 🧐
i put my air compresser in a cabinet w/ doors, a lot quieter. God bless
Yes, the new compressor is still too noisy, needs to be enclosed
Blue is the international color for compressed air...
That is a nice air compressor and system. Cool video 👍❤️
Have you tried an ozone generator in your cabs to get rid of odors?
FYI - the last Pro 1200 that loaded boundaries, guidance lines and seeding scripts to thru a usb shows that it was there but didn't work - all of it has to come thru the Case IH cloud into the monitor in order to work.
For cooling big shop get couple big evaporatorative coolers. Essentially big swamp coolers
Isn’t it too humid in their area for the evaporative cooling to work. Works great in sw part of USA.
I might not be a bad idea to put a hour meter on the air compressor so you can tell when it time to change the oil.
they make a rubber material pad that you can put under the feet works great to reduce the vibration from compressor to the concrete
Even though clearance is close, I wonder how much it might help add sound-deadening material on three/four sides up the near motor and compressor? (like foam egg-carton, or something better or thinner) Would have liked to see the 360 clamp the guy was talking about to join the aluminum line. Great video, thank you!
The “Big Weed “ went right to the 4/20 reference! Just sayin 😊
I got you beat on the age of the air compressor. I bought mine in my 20s and I am now in my late 70s. It has a full metal engine. Drain it every year. Kept the oil changed and air filter lightly oiled according to the manual. And yes I have the manual. Of course I don’t need a more powerful compressor.
drain it every year? Depending on where you are ( humidity) sometimes they need drained daily. I would do ours maybe once every 2 months and it wasn't unusual to get a 20L ( 5 gal) or water out of the bottom. We plumbed all our lines so they would drain moisture back towards the tank, any T's in the lines had drains on the bottom. Rarely had moisture at the tools, even ran a plasma cutter with no issues.
You should daisy chain your old air tank to your new because volume is more important than pressure!!
I wonder how Larson’s have made it this long successfully without you telling them what they should be doing.
thank you
We never heard about the shrubs and trees removed around Grandpa's house, how did that go?
Should just build an insulated dog house outside for the air compressor. Add that red take inline with the new one also.
We have the exact same air compressor we love it
Size matters some places. 🤔😳 But adding a auxiliary tank at the end of the line ( hooked up in series) works volumes in the air delivery bussiness
@renal-dr7st I don’t put my trust in any religious figure . Knowledge skills and a will to do the best I can is my guiding direction!!!!
I told ya California Air compressor , Quietest air around. , that thing is loud
I would like to see the trophy buck at 15:00
Surprised the big swede or brody ain't got that lil trike buggy going after the honda XL of dougos got claimed 😂 be handy for tools between cold storage and shop
Wish i could get the tank off that old air compressor for ours that has a rusted tank but good pump and motor but I’m all the way down in Mississippi.
