We had the 6m Benimar Tessoro 481 with drop down bed. Set off for a 3 month tour of Spain and got home after 2.5 years travelling all over Europe and Morocco. 2 adults and a dog, sometimes one of our adult children and up to the job all the time.
The Chausson does have a shower. The back wall hinges right around, and the shower unit is fixed to that. I have the same design on my Sunlight T60. It works really well
Kat, Just love your sweet and simple overview of these as most others go into tooo much detail! Keep ‘em coming cheers Chris “The Aussie living in the the Netherlands “🇦🇺🍾
Good afternoon Funky Chicken 🐔 we've watched this vid about 4 times and today we've bought our 1st brand new motorhome a Moto-Trek Xplora FDB all thanks to you Cheers 🥂 keep up the good work your vids are informative and humorous very refreshing from the majority
Only the Chausson ticks my boxes. Fixed bed and 4 belted seats. I'm not keen on the grill in the living space, I would prefer an oven/grill in the kitchen.
Subscribed to your channel for the "funky chicken" test and no nook&cranny left unchecked, discussed, fiddled with-permitted or not-.... Great job, neatly done
I just took delivery of the chausson s514 and it does off course have a shower . Just fold the wall back and boom 💥 shower away with plenty of room . This is my 4th 6m van last year it was cool x550 chuasson. I toured Europe for 3 months and I think this 514 with its mega storage and fall into fixed bed is better suited for long term use . Some of the vans you showed are very comfortable but no real amount of storage and make up beds so better for short trips . I am going to winter alps and summer Spain 🇪🇸 and Morrocco so I have AC fitted and and under the vehicle a generator to power it and the other electrics independently… last year I came home in June from the continent as it was too warm but this year I can stay longer
Love your reviews, especially the funky chicken test !!! The F62 does also have the option of a drop down bed. We were considering an F60 but have gone instead for an Elddis CV20. We watch Little Big Van Adventures, who had the F60 but have now swapped it for a larger motorhome.
Kate, I understand your confusion on the F60 & F62, when viewing these at a dealer, I rejected them because of the dropdown bed (I am 6ft 4") The difference is basically the kitchen & bathroom layout, the lounge area is the same but options are available (as I found out on the Auto Trail website). The F62 you viewed is the "base" (cheapest) lounge layout, 2 off long seats that pull out to make a double. The F60 you viewed has the optional half-dinette (giving the 2 extra seatbelts and more complex bed making) and the optional dropdown bed (potentially giving 4 berths at a push). Dealers seem to default to include the dropdown bed in their "standard" spec. Gone for F60 with base lounge area (gives more headroom, light, storage, payload)
6m Campervans and Motorhomes have been ideal for us. Specifically because we live on the Isle if Wight and get “car” rate fares on the ferries if not more than 6m’s
Kate, Thank you for the tour, I was impressed with the rear bedand garage. The rear bed suits us old farts and the garage is also very useful. I have been looking at second hand units but getting them in N. Ireland is a No No. Over here the prices are controlled by the big operators.
I have the 6m Accordo 105 Prestige that you showed... identical. Takes literally 40 seconds to pull the bed together. I love end bathrooms. The shower doubles as storage for throws/bedding etc. Love love love it. Ideal for me and my 2 doggies ♡
I'm nervous enough thinking about going out for my first experience with a hired campervan but also having to consider driving Automatic when i've driven all my life manual and it feels a bit daunting. Too much to consider when it's your first time campervanning.
Hi, I didn’t realise that you actually lived in your van full time? I thought you occasionally went to live in a house! You do well with the energy hike, but I wonder how that works out with site fees etc? Hope your husband is improving and is able to recuperate living in the van and constantly moving across the country and further afield too. Good luck for the coming year.
Yup- I’ve been full time since last June. We had a house during lockdown in France but don’t own or rent one in the UK. Mr WB spends most of his time on our boat as he’s chosen not to travel much at the moment, but he’s doing ok. Winter didn’t help things 🫣
Hi kat have you heard about lpg gas fills at garage filling stations ending? Just about to have a gas low filling system fitted but pulled out because of show talk? Please advise, need help. Cheers
Great reviews but why can't a manufacturer make a perfect motorhome for 2 Berth touring to fit Me 6'4" 120kg, plus wife 5'10 90 kg in a rear transverse bedroom over a garage, duel garage doors for touring Europe and the UK. Without 2 forward facing seats we never use since our dog died. Result bigger bathroom and a bigger garage for leisure batteries and LPG off grid generator. We don't need a microwave when camping. Slow cookers 150w are brilliant 12 months a year.
Many vans (mine included!) don’t have a garage. That’s why it’s important to check out several models until you find one you love. But check out part 2- there’s one with an amazing garage!
That was great Kat. Is this your new development of MH vids? I like the first one with the fixed bed. Price and size is good value for new. I still think at some stage the economy will struggle and this range of of MH’s will be even more attractive and competitive. PS: keep the chicken. 🤣🤣
@@WanderingBirdI know but to go from 7.6m to 6m is just too much in general space for me. The Chausson S514 looks the best if I had to choose. Why the auto gear boxes....advantage??
One day a manufacturer will come along and really make a mo-da home with decent headroom for people over six feet tall. I doubt it'll be any time soon though, certainly not in twenny twenny three!
1st one pontless small motorhome with huge bed taking all the space up in the back not much in the way of walkaround space second one would be great if they wouldve remembered fo put a rear window in 3rd one not my cup of coffee either. f50 again no rear window, think id pick the presige one
I think that question depends on your intended use. If you are always in good weather and warm locations, your living area is outside, the van becomes a bed and cooking area with safe storage. A canopy or awning would give you what you need. However, if all year round use in the UK, you would probably want a decent living area with plenty of light. My opinion for what its worth.
No I wouldn't buy one there to expensive some camp sites you pay separately for electric hook up on top of your site fee I think this idea of holiday will disappear be just as cheap to stay in a B&B but that's the way it's going
None. They are all overpriced and mostly well under specification (from an electrical point) for what people pay for them. Better self conversion whether that be a campervan, bus or offroad 4x4 truck.
I’m surprised at how bland they look and what with creaky doors im sorry but they just look cheaply made and at £60,000 up I’m wondering where the money is spent on them
American Manufacturers would never think of building a vehicle like this. It makes too much sense.

Some one didn't do their homework, schoolgirl error Kat! 🤭
🤷♀️ If they’re going only going to give me 3 minutes to film the van, they can’t expect me to find a hidden shower 😂
Kat,

Thank you! I think if you like a van it’s useful to have more details- but first you need to know if you like it 🙃
I like the first one best with the fixed bed. With mobility problems I can’t be putting my bed up and down every day.

Thanks for tour of the vans, really nice video and very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks for the tour around the small motorhomes Kat, looking forward to part 2!.🙂
Thanks for watching!
We started off with the Accordo 105. Loved that van and still do but we needed more garage space so changed to a Rapido 696f
I like the first and the last one cos of the storage.
6m Campervans and Motorhomes have been ideal for us. Specifically because we live on the Isle if Wight and get “car” rate fares on the ferries if not more than 6m’s
The Isle of Wight must be the most expensive car ferry per mile in Europe. It's even worse than getting to the Isle of Man.

Just wondering if the Autotrail F62 have foldaway travel seats under lounge benches? This would reduce under bench storage.

@@WanderingBird i saved a bit too by the looks of it. Had mine 4 months ago, new...£15,600 cheaper than the NEC price 😲 x
Really like your knowledgeable reviews. Thanks
Glad you like them!
They are very nice, hard to choose. Looking forward to part 2.❤
Coming soon!
Thanks Kat.
You are very welcome!

Ar there any benefits of having just below 6m motorhome instead of just over 6m one?
Well put video. Even though we have got a bigger one the footprint is still tbs same and also is the advice. Kilig 669 😊
Hi kat have you heard about lpg gas fills at garage filling stations ending? Just about to have a gas low filling system fitted but pulled out because of show talk? Please advise, need help. Cheers
The only talk I’ve heard is about MFG planning to replace its LPG stations with electric charging points by 2024. There will still be other providers.
Which camper can you get for £50.000 for two

Where is the garage storage in these motorhomes? Where do you store SUP or golfclubs ,-?

Once I see a manual gearbox, I'm out, sadly!
The first one nice bed in back but it has no tvs and driver sides on the ring side 4 me but all and all there all nice.
We loooked at the 105 and 120 3 years ago, i think the price then was about £46,000. A big increase in 3 years
Yeah- they’ve gone up a lot

Glad you enjoyed it. And no- I’m not getting into MH reviews permanently. But it was fun looking around the show with a purpose.
@@WanderingBird You are offering something that others don’t do and you are a natural communicator.
I would because they're easier to manage and I'm on my own so I don't need a huge van.
Kat, great reviews
Why do all motorhomes not have a split charger? I know it would cost a bit more, but it would be much more convenient for off grid living.
I guess most motorhomes don’t stay off grid 🤷♀️
I want a fixed bed, seating area, separate shower and loo....so not really.
A couple of the ones I’ve found have this!

They do exist- my friend has one and he’s 6’4. But it’s a much bigger van.
We did spot the Wonky Chick in mid flight at the show , but 5 mins too late to catch the Wednesday warble , a Wizard wanders at only one pace xx
Ha. Hope you enjoyed the show 🙃
Still expensive, am looking for under 30 or 20 grand 🤔
Yes if you gave me the money. 😀
Anything on a Peugeot boxer or Citroën are a no no because they don't have an automatic transmission option.

Our motorhome is only 5.1m, still plenty of space. Still prefer a manual gearbox though.
Thanks for the video. How important would a pleasant lounge area be for living full time would you say?
I think that question depends on your intended use. If you are always in good weather and warm locations, your living area is outside, the van becomes a bed and cooking area with safe storage. A canopy or awning would give you what you need.

Great question. I’d say very… but I also like having a permanent bed, so I’ve now converted my end lounge into a bed 🤷♀️
Ok, thanks. A fixed bed with nice middle lounge for me I think.
If money was no object I'd buy one.
Win the lottery first!
No I wouldn't buy one there to expensive some camp sites you pay separately for electric hook up on top of your site fee I think this idea of holiday will disappear be just as cheap to stay in a B&B but that's the way it's going

No

"Would I buy it?" No
Fair
Every one of them are overrated and overpriced! No matter what they are, totally ridiculous mark-up’s!
don't buy a Fiat!
