    Correction: This sample is from Halloween. I had been juggling around trying a few different scores and got confused when recording the video!

    I use movies all the time, 70s era horror/drama. Vocal sound bites too are great in old movies. The old VHS rips on RUclips have that ‘sound’ built in so not much need for plugins etc. Great vid as always! 👍 Oh and definitely watch the movie, it’s awesome!

    Best thing: soundtrack records are normally in the bargain bin in your local record store. Usually a bunch of narrated spoken word and sound FX, and of course some fire incidental music.

    My thing lately is sampling audio from film and television where there's dialogue or sound effects as well as the score playing behind it. Really interesting to find where the rhythms in the non-musical sounds can sort of gel with the music in weird ways. David Lynch's work is my favorite. Very intricate sound design.

    I usually have my VCR audio routed to my Mk2 so I can sample while I watch sci-fi or action movies. Often the dialogue is too loud over the music I want to sample so this is a great idea!

      I have all my stuff hooked into a mixer before it goes to my monitors, this includes a computer, PS3, switch, and regular tv.
      Keep the sp connected to the mixer from one of the outputs at all times and whenever something comes up and sounds good, I get up and use the skip back feature 💯

    One question I have I hope you can answer about the 3.0 firmware is about loading in mutiple samples from the same insturment. I sold my 404 Mk2 because it didnt have this feature which frustrated me no end but I think has now been adressed in the 3.0 update?
    If I loaded in 12 samples of an octave of a piano for example before I couldnt set the release to engage when you lifted your finger from a pad so it was impossible to play the thing like an instrument (the sample just cut off dead). Can you now do this on the 404? i.e. not the release time of the sample itself but the release fade to activate the moment you lift your finger from the pad.
    I hope this makes sense. Thank you

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Год назад +1

      Is this what you are looking for? Added in 3.0- “Fade-out (ENVELOPE) is enabled when sample playback with GATE set to "ON" is stopped (release finger from PAD).”
