Bro I'm over here doing hw, having youtube auto-play lofi for the past few hours and suddenly this shit starts playing and I'm just like "What the fuck is going on in with my internet??" and then it fixes itself for a second and I'm like "Alright its back" followed by more "EE- EE EE" so I'm just sitting here like "Is this part of the song's style? Hm that is quite a strange style, purposefully lagging" so I started waiting for the drop and when it kept just lagging over and over again I finally decided to come check after multiple skips and I'm just like "Oh.. its a how to" xD
I'd love to see a video on your finger drumming technique. What I find most impressive is how you're able to play one handed AND have a "drunken" swing. I'm at the point where I can do preetty much any pattern I want one-handed using a kick, snare, and hats AS LONG AS it's a straight beat. Once you add in swung hats and a slightly early snare I find it hard to feel. Excellent video as always. Keep cookin up beats!
Thats a great idea man, I need to do more stuff on finger drumming - patterns etc. I'll add it to the list. Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching!
So I finally got round to a tutorial for finger drumming. I've got other areas of drumming I want to cover too but this is a good start - ruclips.net/video/ckiHdbHz5M0/видео.html
That was so cool. I don't have this gear, but I have recently come across this app called Koala. I'm gonna try to do something like this on it. Thanks for the inspiration, much respect. God bless you and your family abundantly always 🙂🙏🏼❤️
Love your channel man. I got the SP-404A just for playing long stereo audio stems in my electronic music sets, but your vids make it look like such a cool instrument and made me want to use it that way, so I've started working on some lofi hiphop tracks. Thanks for the inspiration!
Dope stuff! Finally got one off of ebay the other day. There's definitely a learning curve coming from a DAW, but it feels great to just listen to the music while you make it vs listening and looking at it...if that makes sense. Looking at a step sequencer or midi notes can definitely get old lol.
Know what you mean man, its great to just 'feel' the music instead. A lot of people say the 404 is like an instrument because of that. Welcome to the gang :)
Analog equipment looks so complicated but fun to use you and Mujo make it seem so easy the thing that confuses me is all the programming and how to remember what all those commands do
haha know what you mean man, it is a skill that just takes practice and repetition - things are easy to remember when they are physically there in front of you! Thanks for watching
@@spvidz np man! this was good fun to watch. im fairly new to beat making, so its always cool seeing other ppls creative process, and it works as good inspiration for the future. :)
Are you able to use effects on separate tracks in the SP404SX? I'm not familiar with SPs, I currently use an MPC Live but have been pondering getting an SP for the effects. Like if I have a piano, kick and a snare playing, can I use the vynil effect or any other effects on just the piano, or can I even have separate tracks?
You can choose which pads you have the MFX on but you can't run multiple fx on different pads. The only way to do that is by resampling a sample onto a new pad with the FX applied whist you use another MFX on different pads. Hope that makes sense man!
From the tutorials I've watched, the SP isn't polyphonic enough to do that. As spvidz mentioned, you have to resample, it may allow for 2-3 voices but all the vidz I've watched make it seem like it's easier to resample, although tedious at times.
@@Caribbean_King SP404 owner here, I believe it has 6 voices. Stereo cuts that in half, so it's important to use as many mono voices as possible if you're playing with multiple samples at once.
One random question. Does this come with audio and effects or you have to purchase them separately like maschine? What does make sps special? Does it work with specific ant daws? Tell me some info about it if you can. Thanks in advance !
it comes with a 1gb SD card with some sounds on but they are useless really. This is just stand-alone sampler, so you'll have to source your own sounds and also its not built to work with any DAW really, you can obviously record from it into your DAW or get the sounds of the SD card and put them in your DAW but its just a stand alone sampler really.
i just bought a 2nd SP so i can record while im taping out beats, also to have 2 fx going at once, im not too fond of the sequencer, maybe im just not using it right...
If you have two machines I'd just use the resampe method of making beats. The sequencer is a whole different art i think. I don't like it much either but I know a lot of people use it successfully
Cant remember on this occasion as it was a while ago but I usually record the full final beat into Ableton and then do a bit of EQ and compression. You can also track each part out individually but I've not actually done that much yet!
great as usuall, but I have an issue when I'm resampling a sound from a pad with a fx on it to another pad because peaking to much, I ajust the level but the sounds its different and lower than the original with de fx , what i can do?
Thats an odd issue man, i've not heard of that. Which MFX are you trying to use? I imagine the one you are trying to use is boosting the volume somehow and therefore making it peak
@@spvidz yeah man it's so anoying, using compression or vinyl sim too or subsonic, I aplied the subsonix fx to get a bass but when use the resampling peaking too much and I have to low the level, then the result its not like firts, i tryed with effect limit but not work
Well it depends on a lot of things, what's your budget and what are you actually looking to do? Something that can do the same job as a 404 aint going to be easy to find for cheaper than actually getting a 404
