He's overshadowed by Rivera but the guy was a complete rockstar in San Diego and had he played in a different era, he would have been the same rockstar throughout the league.
+Jason Lange They played in the same world series back in 98, they played in the same era.
+Define Ram That's what I said? Had he played when Rivera didn't, Hoffman still would have dominated and probably would've received more due.
Tough call, the 1970s and 1980s had guys like Goose, Fingers, Quiz, and Sutter. First half of the 1990s would be his best bet.
Jason Lange no they played at the same time. Same era. Both him and rivera. Look it up.
@@bryanbrown4521 Jesus Christ he literally just explained that. He's saying that if they played in a different era, Hoffman would've gotten more love. As it stands he's overshadowed by Mo.
This is by far the best closer entry song ever!!
Enter Sandman...???
@@aaronseidl5941 Hells Bells is better
I like both tbh. But enter sandman has it by a hair for me
@@TJ_Chamberlain hey whats up tj
Aaron Seidl Hell’s Bells just adds a different tone. It’s so suspenseful to hear those bells, it’s like a funeral for the opposing team 😂
I remember seeing this with my dad as a 12 kid in Chicago.
I named my son Trevor now it's ALWAYS TREVOR TIME for me!
Heck yeah dude, I was at this game with my Dad, great memories
Rivera may be the greatest closer, but Hoffman is a surefire number two. Still an all-time great for the city of San Diego and baseball.
Also, Hells Bells is a perfect anthem for a closer.
Trevor Hoffman, the Mariano Rivera of the National League
@@vexxfulomega9 Not really, Mo wasn't considered the best just for his numbers of saves.
@@iamhungey12345 please go look up Mos numbers and compare them to any closer and tell me hes not the greatest of all time.
@@jaysonnacco3545 I can see how you think I was saying Mo isn't the best, I should have worded my post better. I meant Mo wasn't considered the best for his saves numbers alone.
Had the guy responded I would have used WHIP and ERA to explain why Hoffman wasn't close to Mo's level.
@@iamhungey12345This is absolute homer talk. Hoffman is clearly the 2nd best closer of all time.
Trevor time in Diego. When you hear the bells. it is a surreal feeling. I've been to Petco and there is nothing like Trevor time.
Man I loved going to petco as a kid and watching him come out to those bells 🔔 I’m 25 now and I can proudly say I’m a padres season ticket member bc of players like Hoffman and khalil that made watching it so fun for me
Heck yeah man, right there with you. Similar story here. Exciting season up ahead, CANNOT WAIT.
I was there and still have the ticket framed in my room. One of the deadliest closers of all time!
Jose Bautista in a Pirate uni. Damn.
and yet.. baseball writers say he is not 1st ballot Hall of Fame worthy... SMH
@Mr. Fuzzyman To get in the 3rd ballot is pretty darn good. Very few ever get in on the 1st ballot. Only two relief pitchers to get that honor are Eck and Rivera. Hoffman wasn't as great as those two.
If he played for LA or NY, he would have got in on a first ballot.
@@randalnihei9764 No guarantee since it took Goose almost forever to get there and he had pitched for the Yankees. Plus Hoffman underperforms in the postseason which doesn't help his case.
@@iamhungey12345 Verlander and Kershaw also have a long history of under performing in the post season, but they were monsters in the regular season. Same with Hoffman.
@@soarinskies1105 Yeah but that was besides the point though. Plus closers are generally held in a different standard.
This entrance is legendary! And this is coming from a dodger fan
And this is a yankees fan agreeing with you
36 now. I was in elementary back then. Just came back because of memories. Dad loves baseball
so many great memories of him running out to those bells. Trevor was great in every aspect.
I always got goosebumps whenever he entered a game. Glad I was able to see him live.
Christ Hoffmann had 601 career saves at the end of his career, that’s insane.
What’s gnarly is he did 15 yrs in SD some years good but most years ok to bad he would probably be the all time leader if he played with a team that was like the yanks
@@jorgemejia6202 I mean being on a bad team means your wins are probably close games, the Yankees often won by a lot which actually could make it harder to get saves it’s a weird scenario lol
@@julianmachin It's the fact that people generally ignores.
Happy Birthday to Trevor.10-13-67.
just realized i have this guys rookie card in mint condition i wonder how much its worth
Crazy how the second best is also the most underrated closer ever just because Rivera was doing it at the same time
Yeah but Mo was also doing it better.
So glad I saw him hes entire career. Along with Tony Gwynn.
anyone else feel goosebumps?
Mariano Rivera. Trevor Hoffman. Two of the greatest to ever do it in baseball history. Enter Hells Bells.
those bells are mindblowing
If the Padres make the World Series and
Are winning in the last inning. They Should have Suaréz walk out with Hells bells. It be a fitting way to win it all if they win their first at San Diego
Chills every time
He is legend with rivera
Funeral for the opposing team soundtrack
The best closer in baseball... lest go Padres
hope he gets in the hof
Leonardo Lopez Nah
actually mariano rivera beat him, but i love this guy!!
Wow I miss seeing this in person and brought back some great memories this video 🤟😎
鐘の音で登場するのがカッコよすぎる。
クローザーに相応しい。
Piquepresi😎
A good closer is a god among men, love to see it ❤️
Mariano Rivera 🤝🏻 Trevor Hoffman
Both having badass entrances
hoffman had the padres offense backing him up.rivera had the yankees.......hoffman still greatest
+Carlos Lopez Look up their postseason numbers. That's the difference.
+njyankeesfan still greatest
+njyankeesfan I agree with you and I'm a Padres fan
he is, Rivera was a thug
johnnysmoke92 whoa someone has anger issues or just issues in general..... expecially with speaking English and formatting a sentence lol
Overshadowed by Mo but if he had a better team, he'd still be the King I think.
Not exactly, Mo wasn't considered as the best just for his save numbers.
The fact that he blew an 88 mph fastball past Bautista just shows how deadly his change up was.
As a Yankee fan I miss those Padres uniforms
Goosebumps
Algún vino por Pique President?
Jajaja, por él vine
I Miss those Padres Days sooo bad
479! 1:58
2nd out was Pittsburgh pirates legend Jose Bautista
Grande piquepresi!
Hoffman paved the way for Mo
Not really, guys like Fingers and Eck kinda did that and I consider the former to be a precursor to Mo in a way due to his postseason success.
very emotional
Don’t BS you had chills when that man stepped up
grande piquepresidente
piquepresidente xd
Electric. Miss that guy.
It time to bring back Matt vasgersian will play - by- play in pecto park San Diego CA

What is the name song??
Manifiestense los que vinieron por piquepresidente
Hells Bells really pumps you up, right?!
I was 11 years old
2006
The most underrated GOAT candidate all time
If Hoffman had played on teams half as good as the Yankees, he would be the saves leader by a country mile. Rivera was good, but he played on a 2 decade dynasty.
Rivera posted better ERA and WHIP bud, he wasn't the best because of his saves numbers, it's how he earned the saves. Plus you don't get saves from closing blowout games.
🐐

The European brain cannot comprehend
I want 1998 blue jersey 1991 navy hat in 2023
Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour
Bautista pre steroids.
he was never on steroids he simply took a different approach and showed signs of breaking out his whole career
Rylan Dawe I
Let's be real, if he played for the yankees, people wouldn't be so quick to point out Rivera. Padres have been garbage to average for over 20 years since their collapse in the world series.
Rivera still have lower overall era in both regular and postseason than Hoffman, what team they plays for wouldn't change that in the grand scheme of things.
Trevor Time > Mariano
미국의 오승환 ㄷㄷㄷ
First
Good for u
No one gives a shit 😂😂😂
Are we forgetting that he used PED's? He isn't better than Lee Smith. No way, especially without PED's.
“Gotta hurry!! GOT, YES!! 479!”
