    I make friendship bracelets all the time! There are many different patterns that I make. And instead of using tape I recommend using a clipboard

    Great video..love this option of closing...ive always wanted to know how this is done!

  • @beadaholique
    @beadaholique  12 лет назад

    In this video, I only used glue on the knots in the clasp part to hold the knots closed without making them too tight for the clasp to slide. If you would like to add glue to hold your knots, it's always going to make them stronger. I can't see why you couldn't use a clear nail varnish either. It would definitely work for sealing the ends of your strings as well. If you are using a nylon cord, you could also use a singeing tool such as a Thread Zap to melt the ends a bit to seal them.

    @Krys Revan - You can certainly experiment to see how well it works, but I think it may be a little flimsy.

    Regular thread would result in a very,very tiny piece. It's much too thin to achieve the desired results. Generally, friendship bracelets are made from nylon thread like the S-lon used here, or from embroidery floss.

    Unfortunately, I haven't tried this type of sliding knot clasp on embroidery floss, so I can't say for sure. It might be something you just need to experiment with.

    you could probably use a fine tooth hair comb to help push the finished rows up :)

    Funny... about working from the leg, I made theses many years ago as a kid - I would make a loop - tie a knot - then hook that on my toe, lol!

    Hi, these videos are brillant ive learned so much. Do you always have to use glue on the ends? Usually when i make bracelets i put clear nail varnish on the knots at the end. Is this maybe a bad idea? Please advise thanks x

      The knots never change, it is the same process for each row for this type of stripped pattern.

    Will this slip not also work on embroidery floss? I've noticed that embroidery floss knots really easily and then the knots are impossible to manipulate :S
