@@juanmacaceres2702 I remember that quick ‘can’t quite talk about it yet’, love it! Same Easter eggs as for his Thorpy collab. I trust he will make it happen. Come on Yamaha!
I mostly like seeing you play (any!!!) guitar you want.... You are my most inspiring source in my approach to this musical instrument. Thank you forever for this 🎉❤
Dear Chris, I just received your email with the tabs of your Solo on „Miss You“. Thank you so much for this wonderful Christmas Gift. They call you Mr. Tasteful here in Germany and that‘s what you are. God bless you. Have a Happy Christmas time. Peter from Cologne, Germany
Classy touch offering free upgrades, was pleased to see that email! Gonna order a physical book of this one. Seems like an obvious request - but would a Cardinal Black tab book be possible?
It's still amazing to me, how the very soul of the GOATs extends out to the tip of their Phucking Fingertips. Wishing you many exciting years in your career and a Very Merry Christmas Chris, to you, yours, and of course Cardinal Black.
Hi Chris , With most guitar solos I kinda get a inkling where they are going next... but with your solos you just blow me away and whenever I think I know where you're going next you completely go somewhere else (which is great ) I'd really like to be able to solo like some of yours do ..impressive stuff !
Definitely more educational (note choices) stuff. How you took all your inspirations and transfered them to a unique sounds still leaves me in awe and I want to soak in as much as possible
Fantastic news, Chris! I would love more educational content from you, anything to help me learn to play “in the style of Chris Buck”. You are one of the most musical, creative and enjoyable guitar players today. Keep it coming 😊🎸
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Awesome - book and tabs purchased. More educational content would be great, particularly your technique, tone and lessons/tabs. Would love the return of Friday Fretworks when possible. More Cardinal Black videos.......and pretty much more of everything you do. Greedy? Yes, I know! but you asked!😇🎸⭐
Perhaps everyone asking about a custom Revstar should be asking Yamaha instead of Chris. That's what I'm going to do now. Show them that there's an interest.
Brilliant Chris, just bought the book, thanks. What else would I like to see? A breakdown video of your compositional/impovisational process, so we can not just copy the notes, but understand how to adapt it and improvise/arrange our own solos in your style. Also a breakdown of some of your techniques you're using.
Ha... if I'm not mistaken this tele is from his clip in the FF episode looking at the 1951 nocaster worth 125,000 - you sir have a good ear and expensive taste 😅😅
I bought the course. I am looking forward to more lessons - the theory and thinking behind instead of strictly the tabs. Though I hope they will help me in learning your techniques. Thank you. You are one of a generation kind of player, Chris Buck.
A course on your ‘approach’ to soloing would be good. So much of it is clearly feel and instinct, but there is a definite perspective to your musical choices. Sharing some of that would be a gift to music. Making the transition from learning music and the instrument in a structured way to then be able to cast that off and feel free to explore and make authentic choices of our own is a tricky thing to do sometimes.
I’ve played for years off and on and have always struggled with making melodic solos. This course looks like just the sort of thing I need. Order placed. Thanks.
Try using only one string, and bend to notes to try emulate a singer's voice. After all, all 12 possible notes are available on one string so you are not restricted by note choice.
@ I’ve actually tried sounding like a sitar before with bends. I’ve gotten close but not quite there yet. And I like Bach’s “Air on a G String” and have done that type of thing also.
Going to read this book on the train until Yamaha release the Signature.. To be honest I like many thought this was the announcement about the Revstar signature and my heart skipped a beat or two. 😊👍🇦🇺
Nice! My request would be material about your touch and phrasing on the guitar ... and downloadable versions of your Friday Fretworks solos so I can listen away from social media 🙂
Suggestion! I’m a pretty decent rhythm player as far as strumming goes, but I’m not great at soloing and playing melodic leads - it’s like my fingers can’t keep up. Can you teach someone like me how to do that? I know the age old adage to go hyper slow with a metronome and then get faster . . . my issue isn’t how fast my hands can move, but how to get my fingers to loosen up so they can keep up individually. I’d love to learn to incorporate some melodic lines between my rhythm playing or even learn to actually do leads, and I’m sure I’m not alone with needing some help to get past this road block. I’m also interested in learning to wrestle my guitar like you do - you know, “Chris Bucking” the guitar. There’s clearly a method to this madness . . . err, I mean technique. All jokes aside, I’d truly like to understand this mechanic some more! Thanks, Chris! Cheers! 🍻🎸🤘🏻
I’m kind of confused, with the cancellation of FFW several weeks ago. Oh well. That said, my original draw to the weekly thing was some really heart-felt, super-feely playing, where there were cover-songs that were so uniquely played. I could listen “hard”, educationally, or just listen easily and enjoy. That was a very unique experience for me.
Bought the PDF and Helix patches. Email says my order is on hold until payment is verified. I have PayPal confirmation email immediately. Trying to use the contact box to ask what's up tells me " We couldn’t submit your responses because they seem like spam.Your submission failed because of an error." All I have is a sentence in the box advising that I've been charged but haven't seen any way to get the products, so asking for help. I'm not sure what to do at this point - I've paid, have nothing, and apparently no way to get in contact with the merchant. Tried different emails, etc... still will not let me use the contact form.
Wanted to make sure to update to say I got a response from the store after responding to an email I found. I have to say, I didn't expect an email on a Sunday afternoon, and was not upset, just a bit confused. Really appreciate the quick response! I bought the physical book on Amazon as well to say thanks. My email provider doesn't see the store's email as a verified sender (whatever that means) but they've fixed it completely to my satisfaction.
Would be great to get some technique vids. Especially for general concepts, like how to achieve fluid bends and slides (which seems like your hallmark). Could also be cool to see your process in determining how to cater your tone to the venue. Though I too would like to see a signature Revstar
I would love to see some more videos and education on right hand technique. The internet is full of left hand (tabs), but what makes you the player you are is your right hand.
Hey Chris, educationally would love insights into song writing and solo construction, also a breakdown of the fast runs up and down the neck. That would be awesome
Awesome! I would love some in depth stuff on how you approach writing a song and putting together a solo. Like the thought process, how you go about phrasing and where to let rip and also hold back. I've stolen so much over the years from yourself. Cheers!
More of the educational stuff as highest priority but in the guitar history, info and interest videos are always great too. Please keep the Cardinal Black promos to another channel if possible.
@ChrisBuckGuitar Oh, I'm sorry, please don't take it as a diss on the band as it wasn't meant like that. I just see them as two very different projects. People come here specifically when they want Friday Fretworks and insight from one of the finest guitarists of our generation.
@ I know man, I know. My reply was tongue in cheek! 😆 It’s just a good platform to occasionally help the band in the right direction. It’s immeasurably hard to make a living from original music these days (impossible, sometimes…) so giving things a nudge on this channel occasionally really helps 🙂
Congrats Chris! I'd love to see more educational content around YOUR songs and solos. I can figure most of them out between my ear and watching you live, but having the official reference from you would be awesome. Another book/pdf for January Came Close and Album 2 would be wild
Many of us will gladly pay you for this Mr. Buck, whilst we practice the 'pick flip' maneuver of yours. Problem is that with Paypal at least, I'm getting a "The merchant account is restricted." message. I'll figure it out.
My curiosity is how you do these recordings? I see you sitting in what appears to be a music shop jamming along with a backing track. Do you do it with headphones etc...? THe book looks interesting.
The opener from this one. He later did the same solo almost note for note on something else… a Tele I think. Anyway, I REVERE this solo! ruclips.net/video/1x13B3pcaTs/видео.html&pp=ygUURnJpZGF5IGZyZXR3b3JrcyAzMzU%3D

I don't want to look at tabs of what you've done. I want to get inside your head and learn how you got there. Teach us how to better think about music and how you command the fretboard. Or just play for us!!!
Cheers folks, I hope you have as much fun reading/jamming with this book as I did writing it! Enjoy :)
