Mafex wins in every apsect articulation, proportions, likeness and accessories except size
Which is surprising to me. Mafex figures usually runs a little bit bigger and i was hoping it would be bigger than SHF. 😭😭
Mafex articulations are a little rigid
For me sh figuarts is better that mafex for the look of the face mafex win but if you compare mafex is easy to broken because the articulation is so fragile sh figuarts is more better when you have a mafex you need to worry about the arms or leg you broke

I don't understand how you could think that the figuarts Cape looks better.
The material kinda makes it look good
I agree that the SHF cape looks better. Darker black, darker red, no cheap-looking stitching. Only upside to the Mafex cape is that it's wired, but it's poorly wired, so may as well not be wired at all. The SHF cape is quite easy to wire yourself with some 20 gauge wire and strong double-sided tape.
The sh figuarts cape is very big

I kinda like the sewing on the mafex cape but it's every body's choice you like sewing or not it's your choice

I agree that the figuarts Thor does have the better likeness as far as the head sculpt is concerned. But Mafex really knocks it out of the park accessories wise. Its like Mafex really paid attention to what collectors and fans wanted their Infinity war Thor to come with and created the total package.
Mafex has always been very generous when it comes to accessories.
And with th body built as well
is it possible if I swap the head of the shf thor to the body of the mafex thor?

Nice job on the comparison & differences noted. I was surprised to see the SHF had a better likeness in the close up shot & nice job flagging the reason for the height difference being the peg hole depth in the neck. As a result, the Mafex neck appears to be slightly short imo but may be able to adjust by filling in the peg hole depth some (idk as I don't have the fig. but maybe you can try & see if that might work). I sold my SHF IW Thor shortly after getting it as felt like it was over priced (for what was in the box and after having in-hand) and prolly gonna pass on the Mafex IW version as sorta has that blank stare expression on the face (the more I look at it) & should be taller for Thor imo & will wait for the Mafex EG version to see if that one maybe gets an open mouth fighting expression & how that one turns out otherwise. The best 1:12 scale Thor issue to date is still the SHF Ragnarok version imo even though the accessories are missing a Mjolnir (which should be an accessory for every Thor issue) but that's an easy add taking from the SHF Final Battle EndGame Cap. with the very cool effect parts. I prefer Thor with a helmet look & the SHF Thor Ragnarok has a very cool helmet & fantastic likeness to Hemsworth too imo. Thanks for the comparison.

Excellent video, very thorough and enjoyable!! ❤️🙏🤜🤛🙏❤️ I did want to point out the Mafex Infinity War Thor scale is slightly under-sized, especially if you compared him with Mafex Deadshot. Both actors, Will Smith and Chris Hemsworth are around 6'2" (Chris + 3/4"), but Mafex has Deadshot towering over Thor by half-a-head. And when compared side-by-side, Mafex Thor is smaller than Deadshot. [try it for yourself] 😉
Yeah, i do noticed he is slightly shorter than Deadshot.
I like the look of the Mafex body and I like the Figuarts head.

i'll have to disagree on the likeness part i have a thor infinity war poster right next to me rn and the mafex is dead on chris hemsworth the shf kinda resembles him but the mafex is better it also has the bionic eye detail that is not that noticeable on the shf one and im an artist so i can notice the details put on the figure
Yea SHF has better face print application and the eyes are clearer but in terms of shape, hair, proportions and accuracy the Mafex wins.
I think everyone has their own opinion in term of likeness as it is very subjective,
Both are great looking heads nevertheless,
I’m kind of leaning towards Mafex one because I think the suit actually looks a little bit better especially the part that’s right below his waist on the Mafex it looks much better actually… And when you put that in manipple head on it it really looks excellent!.

But just having the pre-release notice sent to me the other day, it’s US$150 so it’s not cheap… I’m probably gonna be moving in four months so I’m kind of stuck(as in) NOT being able to order it because I don’t want to go to my old address… LOL. But I probably will eventually pick it up too, kind a looks too nice to pass up!.

My wife said all she had to hear was what u said about mafex neck and head area over the figuarts. She told me anything that can go in deeper and hit it is a lot better then one that barely goes in....lol... so guess she likes the Mafex better.
As for me I really do like the head sculpt on the figuarts. Really was cool seeing em side by side like that with his pic. Def makes u see a huge difference and who’s is more like him. But with all the extra stuff you get with the Mafex and the bicep articulation with the little better upper body movement, I got to pick the Mafex one over the sh one...but honestly got to say that. I got the Mafex one not the sh figarts. I tell my wife I like the figarts better then the one I bought and spent that money on. Can tell you for sure I won’t be going anywhere deep for a little while myself......
Yes for this Thor, I think Mafex has done a better job than SHF

I agree that mafex has better accessories but I'd still prefer the SHF one it has a shelf presence. Takara can help me with accessories :D
SHF had a bad cape in my opinion, the mafex cape is better not just because of the wire but all the drape and curls given

@@DCSG81 yes, I just saw people swapping the effects on SHF stormbreaker. With slight mods it may be possible to get the chest effects too
People really can't lose with choosing one or the other. I hate MAFEX cause their QC is horrible for their price, but will buy the upcoming Infinity War Cap cause of the accessories so I'd tell people that if you can't find the SH Figuarts for a decent price get the MAFEX. If I hadn't bought my SHF Thor I'd feel comfortable enough to get this MAFEX. It seems to be built solid and has excellent accessories that you'd have to spend at least $100 to get on the customizer market.

Tbh, the only reason I got the MAFEX Thor was because I missed the SHF Thor figures for Infinity War AND Endgame. Judging by this, I might not have missed much... and saved some money in the process.

The mafex headsculpt looks better than sh figuarts because if you take the paint off it looks like a really nice Chris Hemsworth sculpt and if you custom paint it like me it looks just like the manniple head.

Great Comparison, I think the main reason I think the Mafex one looks better (aside from the head sculpt) is the position of the cape, the cape on the shf looks like it's connected higher on the figure back of the figure which makes the cape puff up a little over the shoulders, in comparison to Mafex's cape that is positioned better and falls more natural towards the back, in the end this makes the upper part of the SHF appear more puffy an bulky than it should which is why Mafex looks like it has better proportions (also another thing I can see in your comparison the shoulders on the SHF are positioned a little low on the chest, either that or its the shoulder/neck piece of the costume that seems a little bulky on the SHF, where in the Mafex one is better proportioned).
Please do a short video with the manipple head to see if it fits the Mafex or how it looks, PS to me the Sculpt on the head seems slightly a little better on the SHF as well but the Facepaint looks better on the Mafex which makes it just a little better over all (specially when you see that the Mafex is more accurate with having both eyes diferent color and SHF has both eyes painted the same color)

i think that the mafex head have a better paint work but look like Channing tatum and the S.H. figuarts have a worst paint work but look like Chirst hemsworth

Erm, different Thor altogether but if you must choose one, I would say Mafex.
I put some clay on my mafex headsculpt and stood taller than shf and more proportion.

Mafex wins in almost all the aspects, but the head sculpt was much similar on the SH Figuarts

I haven't watch too many of your videos. About 6-7, and all of them you make it quite clear you are not a fan of SH Figuarts.
I never liked the SHF, so turned it into a custom Tony Stark figure. The physique isn't Chris Hemsworth at all.

@@DCSG81 Yeah, all black bodies like that are great for customising. I didn't modify it much though. Instead I got the Tony Stark Infinity War tracksuit (the black, grey, and orange clothing) from VCToysbox and the clothes fit really well.
