  • Today we are doing a brush cleanup at a commercial property.
We are using our Blue Diamond 36 inch brush cutter mounted to the Kubota KX040-4 excavator. Let's get this done!
The Kubota KX040-4 is a 4 ton mini-excavator, weighing in at about 9800 pounds. The auxiliary hydraulic circuit running the cutter has a flow rate of 17.8 gallons per minute.

Hi there, nice equipment. Are you running your excavator in hammer mode? Will be more efficient, and will not stall the mower when you stop it. It allows the fluid to freeflow to the tank on spool down. Also should not be able to reverse mower if using hammer mode. Happy New Year

Yes I am, found that worked better for me a month or so after this was filmed. Check out the difference here: ruclips.net/video/u5ogdLMZGgc/видео.html Thanks for watching!

How does it do in blackberries?

I don't believe I have done that. I will say that the one thing I have had trouble with is kudzu. It will absolutely get wrapped up around the spindle and clog it. However when that happens, I can usually run it in reverse a couple of turns, then forward a couple turns, rinse and repeat, and it will normally free itself back up
