No better recognition from a new musical generation ... they were like stratospherically high vocalists, they are like juggernauts in vocals ..." This explains why Abba's music continues to endure and be lovingly covered by so many, years later, wanting to immerse themselves in catchy lyrics and stunning harmonies.

ABBA/Polar Music presented an unwanted contrast in the 70's and that still true today.
A indie group from Sweden with a tiny home label, Polar Music, that went around the American-British monopolistic rock-pop corporate record label establishment to get heard.
    How?
    1. Eurovision Song Contest (Waterloo)
    2. Low budget music clips sent to TV station program directors around the world. ABBA TV before MTV.
    3. TV show appearances around the world to introduce themselves and their music to the world.
BOOM! Huge global grassroots explosion in all parts of the world - no matter region, culture, language. People connected to the beautiful melodies and lyrics about the human condition.
That is how ABBA became so big.
The little engine the busted up the American-British monopolistic establishment by using "social media" of the 70's.

Benny was having fun on stage with them hearing the songs live again. You can tell enjoying it. I like seeing him get into it all. The music is magical after all and has that kind of effect on everyone! The Magic of ABBA wasn’t just an Album Title! They really had the Magic! Just like the Beatles did! Seeing them together again in the Get Back documentary wondrous as well but this is a different experience altogether. They have been Digitally DeAged. Which is something new and Strange! Like it or not, It’s a Brave New World 🌎! I like that all four ABBAS got together again and got to see themselves young again. That must be kind of Strange but that’s HiTech! Embrace it or you get left behind!👏🏻

Having seen it, I must say how staggeringly brilliant it all is… to those calling for other acts to have a similar show though… I’m not sure quite how it would feel if they brought back people from the dead.
The fact that ABBA are alive and played a massive part in creating it - made it seem authentic and okay to lose yourself in.
To bring someone back from the dead - just for the betterment of their estate and a record company etc… I’m not sure about that.

All the live musicians parts have been recorded and will be played whenever one of them are sick or have to go to the dentist. They have to play exactly in tempo to a metronome click so that the ABBA song are in sync so it is easy to replace an instrument or choir singer with a prerecording. Instruments and voices are only heard as amplified thru speakers and sounds they same if played from digital tape. I don't know why they insist of having live musicians when they have to play like robots. It's probably PR related to justify the high ticket prices.

    • @graphiquejack
      @graphiquejack 4 месяца назад +5

They use the lead vocals of Frida and Agnetha (and probably the backing vocals of Benny and Björn) from the 70s/80s recordings, but then have a live band performing on the side of the stage playing the music and adding backing vocals. ABBA had all four members sing multiple layers so the sound was fuller. Usually the songs were sung with either of the women singing lead, or together in harmony, but they also added different harmonies in the background, which is what the live vocalists are singing in the venue.

Sitting there in the audience at the Abba Arena I sometimes thought: Thats not Abba singing. That's not the voice of Agnetha. The pitch is too high...
Being at "Abbamania - The Show" a week earlier I must say: They also cover Abba perfectly.
I was under the impression, I would see "Abba" Live. (Appearing as avatars) but the singing would still be from Abba. OK, it wasn't really. At least no all the time.
"Does your mother know" finally destroys the imagination, when "Avatar Björn" starts and the Band takes over. Only one of several disapointments in the show.
Don't get me wrong: The show in general is absolutely fantastic and brilliant. 99% perfekt. Never seen "Rainbow colored Laser" before... But e.g. showing 2 "Comic" Films (Eagle and Voulez Vous) is simply boring and those "false" voices who simply can't really cope with Agnetha and Frida...

I don’t understand, why don’t they just play live? strikes me as a bit lazy and a bit of a con to charge people prices to watch a movie screen.

It's a nostalgia trick, to see them young again. All bulshit. People sometimes rejects to accept that old comes

C'est pas con, puisque c'est rentable... la nostalgie des uns rapporte aux autres. Je suis réaliste, même si j'aime beaucoup la musique d'Abba.

They are in their mid 70's. Do you expect them to get on stage 2 times a day for the next 4 years? Not lazy, just realistic for their age.
