I just bought a 2023 Prius XLE AWD and will have to say to me if your all about maximum fuel savings, styling and performance then Prius is the car to get. I get so far between 53 and 61 mpg depending on where I go and how I drive. If you just want to save money on gas and don't care about styling and performance the. Corrola is hybrid to get. I couldn't be happier with Prius. The Prius I bought is amazing. Fuel efficiency with sporty looks, performance and handling. To me Prius is worth the extra money and prefer a hatchback. More versatile.. The Prius to me is also maybe the Lexus version of the Corolla hybrid. Recently bought some wheel locks for Prius and they were a Lexus part. New corrola hybrid like improved previous Gen Prius. New Prius is on steroids compared to new corrola. Hybrid. Not sure I can explain any other way

The Prius is on back order and all dealerships in my state have reserve lists for 8 months. You will be paying for extra packages tacked onto a lower trim Prius in order to buy one. There is no LE base Prius for 29 grand, fairytale. Whoever compares this to a Carolla hybrid is thinking in a perfect world scenario. I am about to finance a Carolla hybrid SE fwd because there are no AWD’s and it’s the max price I will go, 28.5k after tax. $5000 down from my totaled Tacoma, I pay 450$ per month. Whoever is paying over $500-$600 a month with these 6-7% plus interest rates are above there means or making well beyond the avg income in America. Not a buyers market in the slightest.

I test drove a Camry and a Corolla back-to-back in 2016. The Camry's handling was so bad and the car was so uninspiring overall, that to this day I swear I'll never buy one. It seems it was almost traumatizing. Meanwhile, the Corolla put a big smile on my face. It was a perfect little car. I bought a Ford Fusion because I thought I should get something more grown up. I wish I would've bought the Corolla. That Ecoboost Fusion had transmission and engine failure at 120,000 miles, leaving me with no trade-in.

I had a 2015 Camry, same as 2016. I think the biggest thing I hated about it was how unpredictable it was. Throttle response was either good or bad, depending on how the computer felt that split second. The body roll was non-linear, meaning there was no way to predict how badly it would roll in the corners. Sometimes it would be cornering decently, then throw itself into body roll mid-corner. And it felt very unstable on the highway.

I just wana point out that the rear looks horribly bad on this car. Its as if the back side was designed by a different person from the entire car. Doesn't go with the front look at all, the front looks brilliant, but the back looks like very cheap Indian compact car
And it's not like toyota is unable to do proper design matching, the corolla on the Chinese market for example looks much better. They've kept the same front look but the rear looks much more slick and purposely done

It looks quite cheap for being top trim. Toyota has too many lineup sitting on top of each other. Resulting in being cheap out on some, Corolla Hybrid XLE for instance. At the same price you could get - Corolla Cross Hybrid S, Corolla Cross LE, Prius LE, Corolla XSE, or Camry LE. There are only a few nuances between all of them, but they don't need to fill all the gap by making Corolla Hybrid or many models. They could just make good Prius LE (equip more essential features in LE) or just get rid of regular gas Corolla and start focusing on just hybrid models. What's missing in Corolla & Corolla Cross that I think it should have - bigger screen or smaller bezel (both), parking sensors (Corolla XLE), arm rest for rear seat in lower trim (Cross), smart key for all trims, heated seats for SE and up (LE and up for Cross), and optional auto dimming rear view mirror in lower trims. I also prefer the speedometer to be able to display a gauge too, not just digital number with RPM gauge. It feels so pointless having a 7" screen for speedometer, but the whole screen is filled with RPM gauge. It doesn't make any sense.

After watching several review videos on this generation Corolla, both gas and hybrid models..then finally going out and test driving both models, I feel sorry for the suckers that bought these.
Everything in the interior looked and (especially) felt cheap. The exterior styling is downright ugly (which I know Toyota hasn't been the best in terms of exterior and interior styling) and they're overpriced for what you get.
