Its a fact Floor was very sick with the flu during this concert. She still pulled off a great performance regardless. She went through this whole Decades tour with baby on tour and seemed to get better and better. She is a Great and Super woman.
Everybody always talks about Floor being sick in Buenos Aires, but this is where she was so sick,they were worried they would have to cancel. If you look closely you can see it. Floor doesn't move to much, and this is the first time I've seen her a little sweaty. Hat's off to her.

They were supposed to be using this concert for the "Decades" DVD, but due to Floor being super sick with the Flu, presumably felt that it would be better to try again later recording the Buenos Aires show when the band would hopefully be closer to full strength.

I eat only mint chocolate, After Eight o' clock. :) Elvenpath is walking with Tuomas through the forest where he meets all these characters from Lord Of The Rings, Finnish Kalevala and some others....he is just a genius what ever he does. Can't wait for Wacken concert now.

The Bogota show was planned to be the place for the official video of this tour to be shot, but as Floor was sick as Fenris (her dog) and probably performing on drugs, the show in Buenos Aires became the lucky one. The Elvenjig version from BA is one of my favourites, just check it out for yourselves at home 🙂, but taken Floor's condition in consideration Bogota was also good.

It was a Double Hobbit Banger from the Shires. Floors outfit in the video was very eye-catching! I could have done with out the Mint content, though. American so I don't use mint for anything and I don't eat lamb (all the old Scottish girlfriend jokes come to mind, so no). Track was new to me and I loved it!
This sounded like the stereotype for 70's prog rock, with a double kick added, I loved it! I'm curious if this was a homage to anyone, or just LOTR inspired? Great stuff, add some mint sauce to it and you're done! Loved the bloopers, more please!

The one thing that I regret most, when I had my first live experience with Nightwish, was obtaining only a ticket for s single show. P.S. As they usually tend to change their setlist slightly between venues, L.A. and San Francisco show will sate you more than just one of them for sure! So a Nightwish fest is on the rise for you and afterwards you may check some reactions channels as well, just to prove it's not only you...
About the lyrics… Tapio and Mielikki are from Finnish mythology.. Tapio was/is the ruler (aka king) of the forrest and Mielikki his wife to whom you had to pray to if you wished to catch any prey from the forrest.

This was the first song from the first Nightwish record. An old song with a fantasy theme. Elvenjig is just a intro Celtic jam to set up the song. It also gives Troy some time to play the pipes. Loved it Thamesmen! Loved the covid report boys. I will be seeing them in May as well. I look forward to the Wacken show with both of you. Brilliant! Even though I have been a huge fan of this band since 1999, I was not aware of this recording. I saw this pair of songs twice in Amsterdam and four times in Canada. Good fun always! But another live version besides BA is most welcome! Much appreciated.

Floor is battling flu, but show must go on ... She IS the Valkyrie Goddess, and True Professional !!! This song hit me hard , especially that first verse : "The sheltering shade of the forest Calling come in silence Accompanied only by the full moon Howling of a night wolf And the path under my bare feet The elvenpath" . I walked home through the woods after work, it was already dark. And suddenly a full moon appeared behind the clouds, and then, this verse Hit me (I think it was also Floor's voice). Excited for the full concert. The BA concert is as good as Wacken with a whole different and stunning setlist - how about doing that soon? This is fantasy in general - you'll hear reference to Snowman, Tapio, Bearking, Mielikki, Bluecloak and so on. So lots of Finnish mythology/fantasy, not just LoTR.
Please, please, please do yourself a favour and truly go down the Chris Cornell rabbit hole. Devote yourself to his varied and entire legacy, with broad choice of much loved performances, guided by many of the fan requests of some real classics and performances that resonate sooo deeply with us. Maybe a Master Class style segment or playlist of your analysis of various Artists of the appeal and calibre of him is something you might consider? Starting with Chris, please. We love your reactions and how much knowledge you share and teach us. So well presented and your love of music is evident and appreciated. He will blow your mind if you truly dig into his entire career and broad catalogue and body of work. To begin you must start late 80s early 90's, cusp of what became grunge, the Seattle scene, Soundgarden, then work your way forward as he also fronted Audioslave, his collaboration and album with Temple of the dog, his vast solo works, his outstanding covers and homage to many of his own hero's and peers, there's way too much to get into here but this man is a musical legend in the industry, beloved by fans and deeply respected by all artists, and we need more! To me, this is one of the rare Floor renditions that have me go “meh”. I much prefer Tarja’s full on operatic style for this track. Also, it’s not just about Lord of the Rings. There are references to other tales like Willow and Beauty and the Beast, and to me it’s more about the fantasy worlds and how they can transport you away, shelter you as it were from your own, unfair world. It’s about longing.

This was the first song from the first Nightwish record. An old song with a fantasy theme. Elvenjig is just a intro Celtic jam to set up the song. It also gives Troy some time to play the pipes. Loved it Thamesmen! Loved the covid report boys. I will be seeing them in May as well. I look forward to the Wacken show with both of you. Brilliant! In my travels in the UK, I don't recall mint added to every meal. It sounds interesting? I will have to try it. A mint sandwich? Really?

Even though I have been a huge fan of this band since 1999, I was not aware of this recording. I saw this pair of songs twice in Amsterdam and four times in Canada. Good fun always!

Oh, you wee teases... :) Thanks for another dive into the reactive minds of Englishmen abroad. It's always such a fun trip so keep up the excellent work. The Nightwish journey is one of continual wonderment and awesomeness and it doesn't matter if you're new to it or have your long service medal from the Nightwish army, they bring so many folk together and that can only be a good thing. Maybe a Master Class style segment or playlist of your analysis of various Artists of the appeal and calibre of him is something you might consider? Starting with Chris, please.
We love your reactions and how much knowledge you share and teach us. So well presented and your love of music is evident and appreciated.
He will blow your mind if you truly dig into his entire career and broad catalogue and body of work. To begin you must start late 80s early 90's, cusp of what became grunge, the Seattle scene, Soundgarden, then work your way forward as he also fronted Audioslave, his collaboration and album with Temple of the dog, his vast solo works, his outstanding covers and homage to many of his own hero's and peers, there's way too much to get into here but this man is a musical legend in the industry, beloved by fans and deeply respected by all artists, and we need more!
He was so blessed with those pipes, skill, his songwriting that just taps into some very deep emotional connections as he honed his craft and grew so much artistically, yet like so many his musical genius came from darkness and his work speaks to so many because the battle is so universal and real for so many.

Floor’s voice sounds a bit tired in this to me, ….. just not as much power as usual. Even the best of the best can have lesser nights

They where suppose to use footage from both this show snd BA on the decade dvd but as Floor was so under the weather in this one they only used BA
To me, this is one of the rare Floor renditions that have me go “meh”. I much prefer Tarja’s full on operatic style for this track.
Also, it’s not just about Lord of the Rings. There are references to other tales like Willow and Beauty and the Beast, and to me it’s more about the fantasy worlds and how they can transport you away, shelter you as it were from your own, unfair world. It’s about longing.
Ohhh I'm not getting dragged into that one! I've seen the mess it makes :)
