    I first learned and taught myself acrylics with this set. I bought a cheap battery operated e file from the dollar general as well as this kit and I practiced on myself and on friends. I personally don't love acrylics on myself but I always painted my nails regularly...
    Fast forward 15-20 years and I'm a nail technician opening my own spa... I would have never thought I'd become a nail tech.. but perhaps i should have. I always bought anything nails when I was a kid. I will love nails forever ❤❤
    And your channel is the best best best for all people learning to do their own or others! I recommend you all the time!!!

    She is giving you, the viewer, EXPERT advice! Don't be a jerk and throw shade about how she is correctly informing you! She put an enormous amount of conviction and fortitude in learning how to be the best in the industry. Period. Want to know how I know this? Because she is able to teach, instruct and guide the viewer, in a manner that is easy to understand. I liked the video to brush up on HOW TO. She comes across as a bit snobby. It's a home kit. That you would pay big bucks shows your priorities in life are in your appearance. Home girls just want a splash for less cash. Different strokes for different folks. It is fake nails, not rocket science.

    I know you are a pro but I guess this video is a year old, but I just got a KISS kit from CVS today and it came with the dapper dish, Primer, big block buffer, regular file, white & clear tips, double ended cuticle pusher, apple cented drops for the acrylic liquid, glue, powder, and the acrylic liquid. They’ve really stepped up their game. Only thing they should add is a cutter because I used nail clippers and I didn’t like the curve it creates because I did coffin shaped but just took a lot of filing. Wasn’t bad though, and I’m a makeup artist but for my first time doing my own nails I’m really impressed. I wish I could add a photo, I also added Swarovski crystals and all that on mine as well. They almost look professional. I couldn’t find my top coat. So that was the only thing I was missing. Thank you for this video though, because the only thing I struggled with was getting the right amount of liquid on the brush so that the powder stuck properly. Also, the brush in the new kit does have the substance you were talking about that holds the shape but I did think the brush was a bit small. Once again thanks for posting! I wish I wouldn’t watched it BEFORE I did my nails haha. -Brooklinn Brooks; MUA

I use the kiss for kiss years love it except it does lift quickly esp if your hands are in water alot.

      I kind of like that she used what was in the package. I've used a variation of this kit off and on for 20+ years and learned that the prepackaged supplies aren't the best to work with, but a first-timer wouldn't know that. Also, and I'm not sure if it's a regional packaging thing or not or just a product upgrade over the years, but the Kiss acrylic kit I purchased in April includes natural tips with the shallow well, like the French tips in Suzie's purchase, the glass dish is now provided, and the tiny brush is much better quality than I remember it having ever been. I'm not a fan of traditional acrylic since I have a hard time doing it on myself, but I swear by the Kiss dip kits.

    • @kaylaninieves3188
      @kaylaninieves3188 2 года назад +6

      I laughed because when I seen this on the RUclips news feed I cracked up laughing because I looked over there in the corner of my room and in a box there is one of these kids just sitting there collecting dust because I tried and failed and it just looked horrible and I said I would never use it again and I went to the nail salon and got my nails done so now that she showed me if I knew about this video then I probably would have never went to the nail salon Brad just love how to do my nails and plus I just don't feel like doing it

    So, I bought a kiss acrylic kit the other day because I'd seen your videos in the past and I wanted to try doing acrylics on myself. They actually turned out looking professional, as if I'd gotten them done somewhere nice. I didn't read the directions or anything and I don't really do nails very often but, even with this kit and no experience, they turned out very nice.

    Actually been doing this myself for years. Huge TIP: buy the block files (several); several different grade nail files, and a really good buffer. Also file across and up and down until smooth and then buff. Lastly their is nothing wrong with the brush you just dip it after each use in the liquid and dry on a cloth before each use or go to a beauty supply store and buy several nail brushes. The fuller brushes work better unless you have tiny nails then use a thinner filled brush. They can look almost perfect but they tend to end up looking very natural so no one suspects they are fake like the ones done in a salon. DIY and save tons of money for other things! Nice first shot! Impressed!

      Alexandria Faiella I was a professional doing nails for 10 years and when I had my kids I economized and did this for myself and friends and taught people how to do this to save money and time without fancy equipment. (Just brushes and good old fashioned buffing) Salons are over rated and over priced. I gave a tip from my experience-did not say she was not a professional-and lastly you don’t know me or my background to come at me with your snarky comment. When a company says "all you need to complete", they generally mean the basics of what you need are included. It's obvious that the company would not include a duster or various files, etc., since that would drive the cost of the kit up.

      There's acrylic nail sets you can order from eBay and I just thought it would be cool to see a review on them because I've never seen a review on one of them before. They are like unbranded products.

    So one time, after I got acrylic nails (this is like 2-3 months later) I was in class and I was writing and my friend was trying to pass me a note so when the teacher turned around I turned around really quickly and I don’t know how but my nail broke and I screamed cause it was painful. So the teacher was like shut up it’s a nail and I’m not ok, cause like my mom was gonna kill me my finger nail is ripped and it’s bleeding a little bit. So that’s why I use Walgreens press on nails. I know you didn’t ask for this story but ya got it :)

    • @slimeforallages7935

      It's because you hit it hard...Press on nails just pop off all the time so I would rather have the professionally done nails because the people that applied them are more experienced than you, that is unless you are a nail expert, which you probably aren't because you are in school, so just some advice, when you wear acrylic nails, BE CAREFUL!😉😊

    This is actually not a full kit, it's a Kiss refill kit which is why it's missing the forms, the primer, the acrylic dish, and the smoothing block.

      Brittany Dew They do, yes. I was trying to figure out why so many items from the full kit were missing and it's because this is the refill kit. so it has just the most basic pieces.

    Ive used this kit many times and I can never seem to aply the acrylic smoothe enough. It hardens pretty quickly too so I struggle with smoothing it down, I guess doing nails is not my talent😂 but at least I have nice natural nails

    • @SpecialBlanket
      @SpecialBlanket 6 лет назад +11

      you have to buff it down afterwards. it's not supposed to go on smooth.

      Ciarra. I had the same problem and the same thought. However my sister introduced me to ORGANIC monomerer and acrilic. I got it right the first time. It's the kit not you.

      This stuff vs like professional shop stuff is completely different texture wise. I invested in a high grain file from Sally's and it's helpful. Dehydrator is missing to keep them adhered.

      hati I didn't entirely catch the "Canadian" in her accent either, and I'm also Canadian. Likely she does just have an accent were use to being around so it doesn't register. But pretty sure she's from a good ways away from me so not sure how I couldn't notice lol. I'm in the Maritimes (NS) and.. Yeah people around me have a pretty distinct accent from what I'm told lmao
