Dang this looks like a lot of masking and layering... How did you the dust effects like @1:27 and the blue and purple glowing effects in the first half of the video? Were some of those assets you acquired online? Love the amount of effort you put into it! Really shows.
Jason Ko thank you! The dust effects were tail ends of several dust explosion assets from detonation films. I had three layers of dust with the wolf layer being in between them to create an illusion that the wolf was “inside” the smoke. The portal was all in after effects; I combined three different layers of fractal noise, each with different speeds and types. Then I precomped that and threw vc vibrant to colorize it. Also had a layer of a solid creating the background color if the portal. I think I’ll do a breakdown of this in the making of!

The second take he walked in too late but I really liked the rest of the guy's movements so I stitched the two together. That's why if you play it back slowly, you can see the John Wick guy is overlapping the default skin guy in terms of where they're standing.
I think Steve could of won. As we see, Mr wick got to have shields, so Steve could of had a a shield, and some iron armor, only a helmet or chest plate though.

Thank you! I use adobe premiere to edit, after effects to composite, and cinema 4d to create the 3d renderings.
