I think he refers to Petersons approach in psychology, which would be more holistic and contemporary on the impact of our changing society on the human psyche, and using technology ie youtube to disseminate his knowledge. The premise of psychology is about the opposite: that the psyche is something that interacts and is interacted with by the world and society, and it's a constantly changing and evolving thing. Second point: he also speaks a lot about fields he knows nothing about, and makes remarks about them and the methods used while admitting having an extremely poor maths background. For example, on Joe Rogan about climate change, he disparages climate models "because they don't consider every variable" and "they are uncertain", but both of those things are part of what allows statistics to exist and consequently allow for psychology to be a science. If you didn't have variable selection or ways to investigate complex stuff, and to quantify how much you know about the stuff, psychology would be no different from astrology or Facebook personality tests. The fact that he either shows 0 understanding of the maths his own field relies on or that he pretends not to understand them to further his own agenda is a big indicator that he is not a scientist in any capacity, and all his work should be heavily scrutinized and probably avoided due to intellectual honesty or/and reliability concerns. He mantles himself with the coat of a scientist to gain authority, but then disparages all the tools that make a scientist one.
@Anakin12 I remember hearing him recommend Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche as one of his favourite books, and that made me realise that the man either doesn't understand what he's reading, or just reads whatever messages he wants. Also, "It doesn't consider every variable" has to be the laziest response to research I've ever heard. You literally cannot account for *every* variable, but if you measure enough and they all point in the same direction, you just might have causality.

That's something I realise a lot for people supposedly 'helped' by JP. It seems to get them into a mindset where they can happily ignore or even weaponise their previous faults or ignorance and that may help them achieve the goals they had but it doesn't really improve them as a person usually. Like Hasan himself basically said something to the effect of 'some level of delusion is helpful in achieving things because you doubt less and do more' and I think that's all JP provides and the goals they're striving towards aren't usually 'good' ones, just beneficial to them.

So, I hate to be that guy, and this is definitely a very common misunderstanding, but technically HIPAA doesn't relate to what you're speaking about. It is related to the sharing and releasing of identifying information between medical providers, like between your doctor and psychologist. What you are thinking of is patient-provider confidentiality which HIPPA does not oversee or govern. ❤
He seems to think it is possible to, like, make them not say Nazi stuff without banning them. It never dawns your goober ass that he lost his license over nothing to do with his practice. If Jordan Peterson didn't get global recognition for going against their agenda they wouldn't give two fucks about him.
I’ve found the best two questions to always follow-up people saying JP helped them are the following: 1. Is the self help JP is giving exclusive to him? Like is no one else giving the same self help advice or can you get the same advice elsewhere? 2. How did you discover JP and why did you choose to buy his book in the first place? The 2nd question almost always reveals people’s real feelings about JP and how they don’t just look to him for his self help. They were attracted to him because of some controversial statements he made and view him as an authority figure now which is why they choose to get the generic self help advice he slings only from him.
1. Bachelor level lectures are usually just summarizing what another person wrote so I wouldn’t say it was unique advice. I wouldn’t say that he’s giving self help advice for the most part either. The titles of the chapters in his one book have self help advice titles but they’re not actually about that. Like his “clean your room” is about nihilism and he talks about the Columbine shooters. I feel like people are meming when they say he just told people to clean their room and then other people just repeat. 2. And I discovered him in the RUclips suggestions way before his bill c16 thing. I watched his Lion King and Pinnochio videos and Jung videos because I was playing Persona 4. I bought the book because there was a lot of discourse around it. I think most people were just watching him because he was telling them to not off themselves. Of course that all went off the rails as he went on. But when I was going through tragedy I thought about that nurse he quoted in one of his lectures who said “youre stronger than it is terrible” every day.
The guy is wrong about JP obvs and way overrated how insightful his ideas are, but I did watch the original video for context and he says that his cousin gave him the JP book as a gift so he didn't buy the book himself.
@maztergamer1016 this goes to the point of not encouraging the spread or platforming people like JP. His cousin was trying to pull him into the manosphere with the soft stuff, 12 Rules.

The cringiest thing is Destiny fans literally try to emulate the way he speaks. Like how pathetic could they get.
They could be hasan fans and be even more pathetic
I’ve found the best two questions to always follow-up people saying JP helped them are the following:
Great points.

I'm sure most of us roll our eyes when we see someone was DESTROYED or DEMOLISHED in a debate, but this was not oversold. That was kind of hard to watch, honestly. He cooked him to perfection, and then burned him to a crisp.
Search: Chris P Bacon.
The Peterpan fan just dug until he hit magma.
Every Destiny fan tries to debate and mimic Destiny, but suck at it. And Destiny is hardly someone to want to emulate.
you got a pedo in your favorite channels list lol
Dude is just terminally online. No sense of what the normies see, hear, and believe. For instance, MOST PEOPLE do not know 'Kick' EXISTS. What a wild take
Because confidence wins debates, just say shit very loud, fast and with no shred of doubt. Talk in affirmation. When cornered divert the attention to other points or hyper focus on small details and NEVER concede anything.
Everyone receives judgment on some level for what they enjoy. Everyone. But what he likes causes people to *send sigh and eye roll emojis*. The horrrorrrrrr.
Fantano is talking to a actual melon lol
Kick exists not because of Twitch having "woke" policies. It exists because Twitch was going to ban gambling streams and they needed a place to market crypto gambling to kids. For Kick it was about gambling and that's it.
12 rules for life is no different than any other self help book. I love people who see k help and seek to better themselves, but don't come acting like 12 rules for life is this revolutionary bible for misguided youngsters. You know who else is a great physiologist following that logic? My mom she also told me to clean my damn room, should I put her on a pedestal as a great psychologist for that? I simply cannot understand why people act like Peterson brings anything new to the table, ANYTHING new. The only reason someone would put Peterson on a pedestal is because of his shitty world views.
Good on Anthony for handling that guy with kid gloves, he didn't even seem to understand his own arguments.
True this kid was so unprepared
dude jordan peterson got on twitter like a 12 year old middle schooler and thought it necessary to bash a plus sized woman for being nice and thik saying she wasn't sexy
and that my friends is the summary of Jordan Peterson's intelligence
forget all the alcolides and preachy college professor monologues the guy got on twitter like a child , why would any adult ever say this man is an intelligent role model or philosopher
@@dant3175 You sure are spending a lot of time and replies defending JP for someone who supposedly does not support him
@@dant3175 I think this comes from a fundamental disagrement on how much "deeper points" he has made, I am of the opinion that he simply has not contributed anything noteworthy to the fields of psychology or self help that would warrant his praise. Anything he has said that is of value has been said better by other people who are not as openly bigoted as he is.
That is what I think many other peoples on the lefts postions is aswell, he has not done enough outside of being a bigot for that to overshadow that most of his support just comes from bigots.
But that is just my analysis/opinion. But I can understand why if you personally think he has made serious contributions to those two fields that might affect your opinion on the matter.
“99 percent of Canadians, unless they’re Albertan, support Canada’s gun laws”
As an Albertan I’m offended you would tell the truth
“We do that and it doesn’t work, so lets stop doing it” is known as fool’s choice. Even if you have 99% of people trying to do something and they fail, that doesn’t mean the thing is necessarily not working. The methods of those 99% matter. Are they doing the same thing in their course of action? If they are, if it’s similar, or if it isn’t AN EFFICIENT course of action, then it will NOT WORK.
Incapable people don’t believe capable people exist. It’s the Dunning Kruger effect.
Homie said we should be progressive enough to regress to legalizing CP. What a weird time.
fantano cooked that man like crazy💀
Anthony didn't lie, he just used a Henry James level of long sentence.
@30:59 Goddamn, Fantano did homie such a service here.
Am I stating the obvious? Do people realize that the reason JP called his book "12 rules for Life" was so that he could cash in on the 12-step grift.
Destiny, Jordan Peterson, Kanye West - the Holy Trinity of the worst guys on the internet
Perhaps the world
Late to the party, but this kid is giving off major “why can’t I just say the N word in public anymore?!” energy.
Destiny fans have the same delusional confidence as God enjoyers and weed smokers
based but weed is awesome
I question whether weed has made me more confident or not. Still gonna smoke it tho 🤷🏻♂️
Weed smokers are more fun at parties though
If you think weed smokers and God enjoyers are on the same level, then you should smoke some weed!
Well, that's because we're willing to debate the opposition, regardless if we're right or wrong.
Why? Because we're open to new ideas.
It is MAD that people think Jordan Peterson is a good psychologist and helped them become "better", when this is "better". Like, holy crap, you are *not* better. You are objectively worse off for internalizing Jordan Peterson's psychological advice.
you know this guy is horribly brain broken when he thinks Kick is a bigger platform than Twitch. Kick is by no means a bigger anything. Not in total stream count, not in current stream count. It can't even beat RUclips in streaming, and in that category RUclips is a distant second to Twitch.
"Jordan Peterson's book helped me".
I beg to differ
Wait, so the Jordan Peterson fan that presumably believes the "the left just want to cancel not debate" shit thinks that criticising people t is "polarising", and that's somehow the "real problem"?
You know what, I think he's right. When I was a kid I caused some "polarisation" on my household when I told my mum my step dad was kicking the shit out of me whenever she left he house, that was wrong of my and I should have kept my mouth shut because it's "polarising". Maybe I should have debated his fists away from my face?
No one ever said anything about not being able to criticize anyone. You didn’t watch anything did you?
@@mood1676 lmao okay then bud
@@karebushmarebu233 nice argument there bud
25:15 bro was seeing his point crumble down in real time but refused to admit defeat
Ironically fantano sounds like vaush
His tone was insufferable so … ya basically vaush
