Hi from Baldwin Co., AL! I just found your channel from freedom homestead. I love mushrooms and have no clue which if any were edible around here, so I am excited to know that chanterelle mushrooms grow around here. I need to research this. Great video and I am going to subscribed.
Hi Shelly. Yes, they're everywhere around June, July, sometimes into September. If you go out into the woods and look around Oaks and you'll find them. When harvesting, don't pick the whole patch clean, leave around 50-75%, that way there'll be more next year
Awww your boy is such a cutie, Im not being weird I have 7 children (6 boys and 1 girl) I have never seen those mushrooms before. I usually have the normal button mushrooms and I chop them up after washing them, I had chopped onion fry in butter and soy sauce and its absolutely amazing tastes just like a chinese takeaway meal xx
What time of year do you find them I live a little south of Tampa and we had a cold front I can’t find much on edible mushrooms that still grow in Florida even when it gets a bit chilly any advice
Mushrooms need humidity and warm weather. Just think mould and spores. Chanterelle and portobello are usually around June/July. Best to harvest in the early morning
Wow, I didn't know you could find chantarelles around here! I'm near you in Navarre and I've never seen any 🤔 Used to pick and cook them every summer in Estonia
Best to cut or pinch the mushrooms off at ground level to give them a chance to regrow. Have a great day.
Yessir! And don't pick all
Do people from Munich think of themselves as Bavarian or German was just wondering
Bavarian for sure. Especially the older generation
That looks gooood
Will you try it?
It is so beautiful. What part of Florida do you pick up Chanterelle?
We're in the panhandle
Loving me some mushrooms
So good! What kind of recipes do you use?

I love his shirt, and the video that goes with it! LOL. Poked him in the coconut. 😂😂
Haha!!
Remember don’t pick all in one spot, so that they may repopulate.

When is the best time of year to forage Chanterelle mushrooms in North West Florida?
Between June /July as long as it's wet enough
What month was this?
They'll usually start popping up by end of June

Is it ok to eat them raw?
It's not recommended as it can cause gastrointestinal distress in certain people

Hi! Yes, they're everywhere. You need to go into the forest. Look around all the oak trees
Nicole! Those mushrooms, and the meals look awesome….I used to hunt for Morel’s while living in Indiana frowning up….
They're sooo good Jimmy! This year Chip ate them too. Trial last year showed him I'm still alive 🤣🤣
Yummy!! Looks so good you made me hunger. Dought I'd find Chanterelle's at my local grocer.
Sometimes you'll find them at whole food stores. They're not easy to come by
