Here's your complete guide to not crashing your DJI Mini 2 on a strong windy day. In this video I show you how well it handles (and doesn't) on a crazy windy day. The official weather station at the end of the pier eventually topped out at 67KPH within the hour timeframe I was there. Here's the full guide:

Wow, perfect scenario for a disaster hehehe. Small drone with lots of wind, salt water, almost no land to land, Seagulls flying around, lost stick on the controller, starting with 89% battery, landing with 13% power. Big balls you got there!

Great test, I am a new pilot with a mini 2 and I lack the trust it needs in the equipment, it still amazes me how incredible this tech is in such a small package. I'm glad it comes up with strong wind warning as I haven't seen that yet.

Wow. Both you and the drone did so well in those conditions. It just shows what you can do even when the wind warnings show. Useful tips on mode selection as well.

Awesome test, the MM and M2 are seriously impressive in the wind! And great job keeping your cool during some sketchy moments there, I think a lot of people would have ended up with their drones or themselves in the water!!
I would not even think of flying in such a strong wind, cleverly done by you to cope with mini 2 in the storm wind !!!

This is a great video. I have a mavic mini 1 and i'm positive it would not have handled that wind nearly as good. I have had so many close calls with wind and losing connection with my mini, but I still think it is a great drone. If you want combine the better stability with Occusinc 2.0, the mini 2 is all you need if you are a novist. This video is impressive and has convinced me to upgrade.
Nice review, I got mine recently and just got my first strong wind warning and brought it back and the wind was just about 12km/h so good knowing it can handle that and much more 👍
Great video, I love this test. I was using DJI phantom 2 to film kitesurfing which is done in high winds. This video gave me confidence to buy this drone for filming kiting. I thought it would be too small, I had no idea it could handle these winds. Keep up the great work, I love your channel.

Thank you for this video, I am downgrading from the Air 2 to the Mini 2 and wind was one of my concerns but this video gave me confidence on the Mini 2. I damaged my air 2 and it was cheaper to get the mini 2 than repair it

Pretty impressive for a drone only slightly larger than a Tello! I think the Mini 2 will be my next drone.
That's really great footage considering the wind. It mostly moves smoothly in that bluster. I would not expect that from a drone that light.

That was an impressive wind test Ray.
Considering the strong wind and tiny size of this model it coped remarkably well. The final footage was also very smooth considering the conditions. Lets face it, a sensible user wouldn't normally fly in these conditions so this was a great test.
I watched this becuase my biggest fear was a big gush of wind flip my drone upside down

I'm getting this to film adventures on my sailboat down in the Caribbean. My only worry was wind. It sort of goes with sailing. Thanks so much for doing the real tests! I may actually pickup a Mini 2.. I use my inspire for all the paid work and I have a Air 2 that I use for the higher bit rate 4K at times. I said previously that an Air 2, my Sony Rx100 V, and a iPad Pro were the perfect travel setup but a Mini 2 may work its way into that equation. Cheers man! I always enjoy the wind test videos. I wish I had a cool lighthouse in my area 😀

Good video because it refers directly to a vulnerability of the Mavic Mini and how it has been fixed with the Mini 2. The Mini 2 looks very impressive for its size. I am glad you did not lose your drone!

It has been a toss up between the Mavic Air 2 and the Mavic Mini 2 even before it was released to the public but one of the things holding me back on the Mini 2 was the wind problem but because of your video I know I have nothing to worry about there so it looks like the Mini 2 is going to win.
I am perfectly happy with the 4k 30fps and have never cared much for obstacle avoidance.

I am wondering between MA2 and Mini 2. MA2 still has its advantages - shooting video in row and HDR video mode as well.
