Oh man, we loved them, loved their music and 80s was the best era in music. This is just a proof that great music is timeless and ageless, and now, still listening to this song and their music with so much joy. I just turned 57 and the music is only getting better, from the 80s, because I appreciate it even more now than I have when I didn't realize it was the best era and such. Loved it and love it.

Classic best of the 80's
This is my favorite of their songs and then the rest. My younger brother introduced me to them in 1986 and listen off and on monthly like I am now.

I have commented above about Dreaming and elsewhere on If You Leave. The latter was transcendental in 1986 when it was released. I was very disappointed it did not chart in the UK but thrilled it reached number 4 in the Billboard chart. It would have been great if it had got to number 1.

This was OMD's last single of the 1980s, and also a stand alone single from their 1988 album The Best of OMD (which is highly recommended, by the way!)It was also the last track to feature the four members of OMD before they broke up-or at least until they re-united in 2010 for their History of Modern album.

They re-united for the 2006 Night of the Proms in Germany- this led to the reformation being established on a permanent footing and tours to date.

I do have the CD/DVD Messages- it is a very good collection. I still think the band made some great, innovative music but my perception these days is slightly influenced by meeting Andy McCluskey in 2013. They say never meet your 'heroes' and it is true. At the same event I spoke to Bob Stanley of St Etienne and he came across as very much genuine and down to earth.
OMD is not your average 80’s band. Look at how happy they are to be performing together, and it shows in their sound.
They were close to splitting up at this point.

I find old songs like this much more relatable than modern music. You don't get well written lyrics anymore that someone can actually identify with.
That's because today's lyrics tend to be specific and personal while older lyrics were more vague and general.
