My favourite song of all time. Aged 73 and this song will eventually play me out on passing. Reflecting how short life is but not the end, as we will always be together in ‘Electric Dreams ‘.

This song is very personal to me as it reminds me of my late sister. We used to listen to it together, as we were children of the 80's. Lines like "although you're miles and miles away, I see you every day" and "We'll always be together no matter how far it seems" sound really apt to me. It's a celebratory and positive song because the people we love are always with us. People die, but the relationship never dies. And you never stop missing the people you love. Also, I really like how in the movie 'Electric Dreams' (this song is from that soundtrack) the computer makes all the radio stations play this song all at once to say goodbye. As if the whole world is affected simultaneously if only for a small amount of time to the same feeling. Maybe when people die, the people who love them all feel it in subtle and small ways simultaneously without even knowing that the person is gone. At any rate, we're all connected, I'm sure of that.
+Circa Aeon Whether your loved ones are alive or dead, they will always remain with you in your memories, the one thing that death can't take away from people.

Sheryl McAlister I want this to be played at my funeral. I absolutely love it. It makes me cry and grin and dance all at once. The most beautiful lyrics. I love music and this is just a perfect way to say goodbye. I’m sad that you lost your brother. I lost my sister 3 years ago. Taken far too young in a car crash. We played “sweet child o mine” at her funeral. Couldn’t listen to it for a long time afterwards. Live your life and love those around you because it can all be taken away so quickly 💖 💫
Interesting how many 80s USA films had British artists to make the soundtrack. Electric Dreams was made in 1984 before the world wide web existed, which wasn't until the 90s, but could be about the world wide web. Lovely song too and more memorable than the film it was made for. Phil is still performing with the women from Human League, and they're still more gorgeous than many women half their age.
So true . i am in tear listening to this as memories flood back, i wish i had a time machine, seen the movie in the cinemas as a kid, brilliant song...
This song always went of in the car radio, I never bothered searching it up, but now that I did, i'm realising what an amazing 80's song I was missing out on. Truly a masterpiece of classic 80's hits. ❤
My best friend and I loved this song. She was murdered when she was 18 in 1991. 32 years later missing her more than ever but still with her in electric dreams. ❤
Still makes me cry, my best mates mum asked me to choose a record to be played at his funeral, I chose this, he's still my 17 year old bestie even after all these years

The song 'Together in Electric Dreams' is one of those rare gems of music that are created practically out of thin air. Incredibly, this electronic anthem was created in just ten minutes! But behind this moment of speed are two geniuses of the musical world - Giorgio Moroder and Philip Oakey
This music video vividly portrays all the crazy trends of the 80's. The wild hair styles, colorful clothing, street dancing, aerobic classes, boom in popularity of outdoor activities and shopping mall craze. These videos are the closest we have got so far to an actual time traveling experience.
The only thing I'm glad about the internet is being able to listen and watch the songs from this remarkable era of music. It takes me back to my youth but inspires me to get through another miserable modern day.
This song reminds me of my mom who passed away 11 years ago. She grew up with 80's music. New wave. So nostalgic. I'm a 90's kid who grew up with 00's and new generation music but I'd say 80's music is one of the best music ever existed.
This song is so nostalgic, those beautiful ascending chords in the chorus along with "Love never ends" line, so beautiful. My Mum and Dad used to play this in the car when I was young. My Dad is unfortunately ill with terminal cancer now, and listening to this song just makes me think of him and miss the old days.

@@SuzLa1 Absolutely !!!

Why did you do it?

What about the 60s?
Meeee toooo
Yeah, add the sixties and cut out the nineties except for Nirvana, Coldplay and Radiohead - the exceptions.
Still makes me cry, my best mates mum asked me to choose a record to be played at his funeral, I chose this, he's still my 17 year old bestie even after all these years
That's an amazing story - thanks for sharing
Sorry man
Stay strong brother he will have loved your choice

Definitely a genius pairing of Philip Oakley from the electronic band Human League with the Italian Giorgio Morofer widely heralded as one of the genius producers of disco music

Every time the intro starts playing, it's like I'm transported back to the 80s. It was such a wonderful era! I absolutely love this song!

Nothing beats being a teenager and a university student in the 80s! What a decade!
I am so jealous of anyone who grew up in the 80s…
Yes it does, being a teenager in the sixties, for me anyway.
Being an 80's non student!
Do you have a time machine?
I was in elementary school during the 80s, and consider myself an 80s kid, but always wished I was born just a little earlier, so I could appreciate it even more, haha!
The song 'Together in Electric Dreams' is one of those rare gems of music that are created practically out of thin air. Incredibly, this electronic anthem was created in just ten minutes! But behind this moment of speed are two geniuses of the musical world - Giorgio Moroder and Philip Oakey
Drum Programming, Synthesizer and Bass guitar by Arthur Barrow who was in Frank Zappas band 1978 - 1982
2024, who's still listening here? 😁 I may be a 90's baby but this song is wonderfully made. Brings back memories whenever I hear it. ☺️
I listen to death metal but I’m drawn to 80’s pop of some reason 🤔

This music video vividly portrays all the crazy trends of the 80's. The wild hair styles, colorful clothing, street dancing, aerobic classes, boom in popularity of outdoor activities and shopping mall craze. These videos are the closest we have got so far to an actual time traveling experience.
This song should be played every morning so people can start there day happy

The only thing I'm glad about the internet is being able to listen and watch the songs from this remarkable era of music. It takes me back to my youth but inspires me to get through another miserable modern day.

This song reminds me of my mom who passed away 11 years ago. She grew up with 80's music. New wave. So nostalgic. I'm a 90's kid who grew up with 00's and new generation music but I'd say 80's music is one of the best music ever existed.
This song will be forever special to me. I really love the melody and the vibe of this song. I was born in 2006 but I feel like I'm living in the 80s.
If a picture could tell a thousand words, a song could bring back a thousand memories. 80s songs like this are the best.
This song reminds me of my dad too, playing it in his car with other 80s music. He passed away 2 days ago of cancer and I’m broken. I had to reply to your comment because I can totally relate and I just want you to know that you’re not alone x
