It's more of a Exo-pants. Exo-suits is worn all over the body, up to the shoulders.
They might not want to give consumers access to a industrial quality one, or they'll rig it with body armor and use it like a militia.

Most heavy jobs on factory floors are already done by robotic arms. The trend will be more robotic arms, not paying labour + exoskeleton costs.

FIAT have used robotic factories for several decades. Tesla are doing pretty much the same thing in their production areas. Some major goods distribution companies use robots for almost everything except the deliveries. And Amazon are working hard on robotising that aspect of their business.

My dad fell over the holidays and factured the C4 vertebra in his neck, bruising the spinal cord. He was instantly quadriplegic, couldn't feel his body. He was treated terribly at the hospital. They just didn't know how to deal with his situation, but he got much better care at the physical therapy place that he went to once he was stabilized. Medicaid wouldn't pay for him to be there for any longer than a month, and he had to move to a nursing home for continuing PT, if by a lesser standard. As his spinal cord has healed, he's gotten back probably 50-60% of his mobility, mostly in his body and legs, and some in his arms. He has very little fine motor control, so he can't balance on his own. But he can stand and even walk with help when he's got the strength for it.
My point is, this sort of thing, I think, would be a huge help for him in keeping up his strength and not wasting away. His situation is one that would benefit greatly from this technology, but sadly, he's likely the last person to ever see it.
If I knew who to contact at Samsung to see if they would put him in some of this, I would. Anyone got some contact information for Samsung's robotics division? lol

I think they have drastically underestimated the market, example; I have 0 mobility problems, I go up stairs by skipping 3 to 4 steps at a time, I WANT ONE. I also think that if they were to sell them commercially they could use some of the profits to offset price reductions for the disabled. Bringing production up to where exoskeletal suits are readily available comes with its own cost reductions for manufacturing in bulk, and the more your product is out there the more likely people are to know about it and what it can do for them so getting as many disabled people in these as possible would be the ultimate commercial.

Well actually, the two things we were promised for the future were flying cars and jetpacks, TYVM.
Robots, monorails and moon bases were kind of next tier.
Exosuits? Sorry, I never heard of that being promised, despite the popularity of Iron-Man. Now, bionics had a huge boost by THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN in the 70s and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK in the 80s--but the whole "having to cut off a limb" prerequisite took a lot of the shine off of them. ;-)

My elderly farmer neighbour caught a infection that his doctor misdiagnosed and ended up losing the left leg below the knee, and the right kneecap is buggered up, so he needs to have a exo leg added and the other would have to be a replacement. Prices should be affordable, yet its a 30k+ cashgrab based on what I've seen with the technology. We are talking about affordable components, so the cost doesnt justify charging so much that the people who really need it will never afford it. Something to think about if you in development of such marketable products. Life only happens once you know?
