Better than a sedan. Better than an SUV.
How so?
Noisier than a sedan, smaller hauling space than an SUV, and horribly overpriced.
Sketchy recalls and reliability is in question now.
I adore my 2017 civic hatchback LX. It's the perfect balance of handling and utility. Possibly upgrading to the 2025 hybrid sport HB soon
I got the hybrid hatch for the versatility. If I’m lugging around furniture or making an Ikea run, I’ll be able to fit more. It’d cool to see a video about that camera arm.
I’d take the hatch just for the utility and if I ever wanted to sleep in the car camping or on a road trip
Excellent review and beautiful car. Love the Boost Blue colour.
Awesome choice
The mouth of the hatch is wider than my Toyota 4runner as the Honda wheel wells are more flush. could put something the size of a large screen TV in if I wanted to haul it somewhere.
The resale of the hatch will be much greater with lyft and uber drivers wanting the class/luxury the car offers and the utility side for better versatility.. This car is especially geared for city travel because of the battery side yet offers great boost when you need it or electric only in stop and go traffic. I am on econ mode all the time and can climb large hills in my area with power to spare.
So far I am at about 47 mpg on hill and valley terrain, took about 15 dollars to fill up Friday and I drove over 360+ miles for the work week. I think the range is still untapped possibly to 50 mpg if you know your stuff and are an enlightened driver .
The Prius argument:
Prius gets glowing highway reviews but you cannot find one in certain areas (or wait) or it is marked up at the Toyota dealer. That A pillar slant is not a great feature in the Prius for older people trying to get in and out of the car. A retired commenter described it as falling into the car then trying to climb out of it by grabbing something to help pull yourself out. I get it , it is like a wedge that was designed to appeal to Tesla type customers but they did not consider older drivers needs. Plus the Prius is described as having harder shifts from electric to gas.
@@ericscottstevens Great points!
great video
Just test drove one of these yesterday, sticker price was 29k USD for the hybrid hatch touring 31k with markup it was a pretty nice ride for the fuel economy (not as fun as the elantra n though lol)
I just took a test drive of civic Hatchback and felt like too much wind noice not engine noice is that case for everyone 😂?
The hatch blows the sedan out of the water, if only they included AWD.
I prefer the sedan . Trunk room for a spare tyre/donut
Both look the same - oh the - I guess the 2nd generation (I had a '77 Hondamatic Civic) originally - was only available in "hatchback" and "station wagon" but they DID have a sedan but it looked identical (more basic seats and such as it was considered the starting point) - but only the bottom half of that back end would open - very odd I thought even back then.
@@GlennLaycock I had a 77 Hondamatic wagon with wood grain. 😝Sure I still had that, it would be a real collectors item.
The 2025 Honda Civic vs The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, Audi A3 Saloon, Mercedes A Class Saloon, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3, Subaru WRX & Others Compact Sedan
I think the Acura Integra competes more directly with the BMW, Mercedes, and Audi as well as WRX.
@@donlindsay1643 Yup
The new look is not great the old 2019 body looks more modern.
about $5000.oo is the answer to your question...
Cost too much.
For that cost, I would buy a Tesla
Poor investment. You'll end up with a worthless car in a few years.
$33k US is a lot for a car that will go 300,000 miles and get 54 mi/gal?
Don’t forget, the price he mentioned was in Canadian dollars. In USD this car is around 30k, which is a lot less than a Tesla Model 3
😂 Telsas are ugly, require charging, and don't hold their value.
Too bad you have to give the Nazi salute when you take delivery of a Tesla!!!!
