In the German version of Half Life I think the marines are robots because of some law in Germany, so the Valve team bypassed the law by replacing the soldiers with robots.

Is it me or did the game in general just give me a weird feeling, not necessarily nostalgic but somewhat like that mixed in with other feelings. Not to mention the level design and such.
In Half Life one, we see these cool, ugly, terrifying , and cute aliens, but why are they not present in Half Life 2? They would have been great allies like the vortigauts, the aliens can learn english from the vorts, as they learned english from the humans, the Alien-Grunt could also be an ally, and probably the HECU should be an ally, even the Black Ops should be an ally, and the Houndeyes would serve as your pet or just a cute ally.
Jones smith they are canonically in an area that I forgot the name of (which you went through in the 2001 beta) which is seen during the teleported malfunction in the second chapter of the final game

well first go to the link in the description and download the mod there then when its done open the downloaded file (its a 7zip file so you will need either WinRAR or 7zip to open it then once you get it open it, go to your half life directory and create a folder called a soldiers tale, then drag and drop all the files in the mod you downloaded. if you have half life non steam just start half life and go to the mod loader on the start menu, if you have steam version restart steam and then select a soldiers tale from your library and play it. I hope this helps this works with other mods too so go ahead and try them :D.
