Incredible performance! The Jam were the first band I saw live and this certainly contains a similar ferocity. Saw him twice in '97, both amazing. The last album I bought of his was A Kind Revolution, as what has come afterwards just didn't click with me. The period up to As Is Now is golden age Weller for me, but gems still on the next few too. Heavy Soul deserves to be seen in the same light as the much lauded Stanley Road. The other performances featured in the rest of this TV-shown gig are also of the same high standard. Great clip!
When Weller was still angry.Heavy soul is a great album.
In a Class of its own. He looks the bollox and White on drums is the best sound I ever heard.
Totally Agree Miles......
Totally agree great track too, the drums are amazing.
That is one hell of a drum riff.
Weller rocks! 👍👍👍
Nailed it here, giving it his all, awesome presence, looks the bollocks, & Whitey's drumming drives it.

wow! top drumming, top bass and no need to say anything about Mr. Weller.
No offence to whoever followed, but best with Whitey.
@@OldMod67 Steve White and Yolanda Charles on bass, pure class.
@@EM-yk1dw And not forgetting Matt Deighton

Paul, the wine! I simply love this guy.
Top of the game here.
Weller rocks.
This is the most energetic angry performance of any song anywhere ever. Full stop!

Jon Reed Obviously you never saw The Jam live then. But this is still great though.

Yep... I was there on the Southbank. I've still the shaky-cam footage, somewhere.
still good the whole band .
Love this version. The drums don’t come through as well in the recording. Steve White is awesome
Modfather is pure class
