I love Signature(100P) Old Forester, its tied for first place in my budget row with WT 101. Been thinking of getting 1910 or 1920, so this is good timing.

Absolutely it's a winner 🏆 under 30.00 you can't beat it . It's far better than the overrated 1910 sorry Jackie Zykan .
The first impression I got from the 1920 is that it was similar flavor profile to Eagle Rare, but better and higher proof, which is awesome because I love ER but can't find it ever in my area, but 1920 is always on the shelf.
Eagle Rare is half the cost though. At least when I get my allocation every 3 months and find it at legit stores that don't screw you with markups.
My eldest was diagnosed with ADHD, so you are a blast from the past in a really nice way! OK back to the video. I love the 86 proof and the 100 proof signature bottles, both awesome. I was at my local liquor store and a guy that works there talked me into a bottle of the 1920 prohibition ($70) and I can't wait till my next day off to toss a 2" ice cube into a rocks glass and see if the 1920 is all that it's made out to be? although Im sure it will be! My absolute favorite nose on available bottles. I often pop the cork just to take a whiff.
8.4 is too low. This is a standard-go-to-stand-by-ard-rather-have-it-than-others-keep-it-in-the-bunker-for-the-end-of-days. Given the volume of production and cost value it deserves a 9/10.

The super strong barrel char and brown sugar is no joke. That's what I enjoy more about it, right up front it's kind of high alcohol and unimpressive to me. The back end is great though.
I think it’s there for the value. When I opened the last bottle it was strong ethanol on the nose but it’s cooled a little and find 1 small ice cube opens it up and makes it absolutely delicious.
It is hard to pick a favorite bourbon, but if I had to, I would pick this. Recently bought the 1910, and I like it, too. The Signature is very good, too. Hard to go wrong with Old Forester.
This Bourbon is in my top 3. Probably my favorite in the 110-120 range.
110-120 that is about twice the price i pay for it.

OF 1920 was my first “big boy” high-proof bourbon…..it’s been a mainstay in my collection since. Good review/score. Totally agree.

I was just doing a taste-through of some of the best stuff I have in my collection including Calumet 16. Then I wanted a little OF1920 and was stunned at how it simply blew every single other bourbon away. So damn delicious.
Not only is the bourbon top-drawer, but isn`t the bottle just beautiful & perfectly weighted?!

That's the notes that I got on my first bottle, very good. Lately, however, getting way more youthful noyes, not near as good as my first bottle. Has been 2 years lol
It is an upper-tier bourbon, at a mid-tier price point. Good stuff.

8.4 Sounds perfect. Everytime I spend more money I almost always go ... sh*t why didn't I just buy another bottle of 1920 or Rare Breed or 12 Year Knob Creek (when it can be found).

1920 is one of my top 10 whiskies. One of the few whiskies I bought a backup bottle of. Even at the over $60 price.

This was my birthday buy last year. My current favorite followed closely by Rare Breed and Four Rose's Single Barrel.
On the OF 1920, I get lots of lovely tart cherry.
I just cracked a bottle for the first time. Drinking it as I watch this. The best!

Funny as usual! 1920 is one of my go to bourbon’s. I get it at the big box store for 45.00 anytime no limit:)
Wish I liked this as much as everyone else does cuz there is much about the OF line that appeals. Price, availability, styles, proof.
I pick up a flat, synthetic note that may be the way my palate interprets the banana aspect. Oh well, I make do with Russell’s Reserve SiB and Knob Creek SiB.

Great review and I'm glad you brought up thr banana notes! I don't have a trained nose quite yet but have had people think I'm crazy for smelling bananas and cherries! She's definitely a 9+ for me and in my top 10... possibly top 5. Wherever it ranks for me personally, it is easily what I drink the most of. I feel like it is worth twice the price tag when compared to these other high cost options.

First bottle of OF 1920 seemed only ok - good on the neck pour. Little bit disappointed. Came back to it about 3 weeks later, and WHAM - friggin amazing 👏. Couldn't believe how it opened up and developed. An absolute mainstay on the bar. Won't be without it except under exceptional circumstances

the only old forester ive had that was better than 1920 was the 150th batch 1. But 1920 is an amazing easy to find bourbon I agree!
picked that one up a while ago but have yet to try it. too many bourbons on my shelf. too little time for a non alcoholic to try them all.

I do like the 1920 and and originaly thought I really liked the 1910 but that one kind of changed for me. The 1920 is far better and it's actually what I enjoyed last night.

I love 1920 - I try not to drink it too often, because it’s expensive, but you’ve convinced me - I’m going to have a good pour tonight.
Also the new label - not a fan. Liked the old one more. But, I do like the whiskey inside, so it’s okay.
Have you tried the 1910? I love Old Forester Bourbons. The 1910 is tied with Woodford Reserve Double Oak, two of the best double barreled Bourbons The 1920 is very rich but has a little to much heat for me.
Sounds like a scary movie, enjoy your show, I have one that is not open yet. The 9120 is 57%, I saw the barrel proof Forester that is 67% alcohol. Can't wait for you to review the barrel proof and compare it to the 1920.

8.4? Way too low! This is rockstar, ninja, black belt level supreme whiskey! I actually related to your description of what happened at the finish. I had a similar feeling. Like I thought the finish was over and it paused and the flavors changed,...then it was finished.
