As someone who grew up drumming, it's absolutely true. It would take me 5x as long to program a beat as it would take to just play it. Imagine trying to program a guitar solo - like, yeah, you could do it, but if you already knew how to play a guitar solo, why would you?
on pads theres a synchro to the metronome, so even if you play a bit off it reaches for the bar... but you still must be ultra tight for it to sound that good

Bryce, the center snare at scv for the last several years actually has his fingers even more straight than this. Everyone has different anatomy and no 2 people will have hands that look exactly the same.

I watched him play a show with Rancid when Brett was in the middle of leaving the band back in early 05' and he dropped both sticks back to back, and improvised a one handed fill, twice, back to fucking back dude. I believe u can still watch the joe rogan podcast with him on youtube coz it was before joe got the 100m dollar deal with spotify. It was his 2 best friends and the 2 pilots that died my mistake.

Travis drum sample pack on splice is decent. 2 of his trap hats and few snares I have been using regularly in drum rack kits. Don’t know if he using tuned Roland sounds in octapad or if he using it as midi controller. I use my octapad as a mini kit for writing/jam sessions. Will definitely bring it on a gig with me, easy transport, setup/tear down

Actually it's the flaws that make it better. It's not all on grid because he's a human, not a machine, and that's why it grooves so much more.
