      As someone who grew up drumming, it's absolutely true. It would take me 5x as long to program a beat as it would take to just play it. Imagine trying to program a guitar solo - like, yeah, you could do it, but if you already knew how to play a guitar solo, why would you?

      on pads theres a synchro to the metronome, so even if you play a bit off it reaches for the bar... but you still must be ultra tight for it to sound that good

      It's definitely pretty good, but his middle finger is pretty far from his index. Can't tell if his index is too far in or middle is too far out from this angle though

      @@smegmosisjones5645 maybe from a textbook in like the 70s when they taught straight middle fingers. I've worked with world champion drumline instructors for several years, his middle finger looks a little off based on modern techniques. Don't get me wrong though it's still pretty decent

Bryce, the center snare at scv for the last several years actually has his fingers even more straight than this. Everyone has different anatomy and no 2 people will have hands that look exactly the same.

    It's amazing seeing Travis today. I've been a fan of him since I was a kid (joining Blink 182 days) and it still amazes me that he's still growing. Most people calm down after a while but he's excelling at his passions to this day. Much respect.

    The dude is a human drum machine. Been a fan since the fucking Aquabats dude. I watched him play a show with Rancid when Brett was in the middle of leaving the band back in early 05' and he dropped both sticks back to back, and improvised a one handed fill, twice, back to fucking back dude. He is definitely a drumming legend.

      He isn't playing the 808, he's playing the kick. The kick is layered with the 808 so it sound like just the 808 but with more attack/punch.

      @@Terrythetroll. he was in a plane crash and all his bandmates died, he was engulfed in flames and someone helped put him out,the pilots died, he had to go through burn therapy where they put a cheese grater so to speak to ur burnt skin and scrub you with metal brush. I believe u can still watch the joe rogan podcast with him on youtube coz it was before joe got the 100m dollar deal with spotify.
      It was his 2 best friends and the 2 pilots that died my mistake.

    Travis drum sample pack on splice is decent. 2 of his trap hats and few snares I have been using regularly in drum rack kits. Don’t know if he using tuned Roland sounds in octapad or if he using it as midi controller. I use my octapad as a mini kit for writing/jam sessions. Will definitely bring it on a gig with me, easy transport, setup/tear down

      @@209euro2 i know, I’m a little bit familiar with music production. I just wanted to say that it would sound much more „natural“ when everyone record their drums like that. You can develop a very precise technique and groove with some practice.

      Like the other commenter mentioned, he's playing the kick drum. Also, that kick is one tone so not sure what note changes you're talking about in this video.

      @@off6848 this isn’t hard to play. This the open rolls for the high hats is one of the first things taught to drummers in 6th grade. We called them “mama papas” two on the right and two on the left.

      @@astr0sauce I think it's really good, his drumming infact is great, to me, It's hard to keep that accuracy when hardware has tiny delays with the software, he could be precision perfect but the computer could pick up his beats at different times, thats why I would assume Quantize is involved,
