He manually searched for them under these specific circumstances. Quick saving and belly fullness seem to be factors on whether or not they'll generate and how they will generate. he also is making exact movements that always result in the same circumstances, so the dungeon always generates the same way, every single time. The dungeon generation and loot generation in the game seems to take into account all of your actions in any given order at specific times as well as specific stats and potentially even what moves you use, quick saving, eating, or belly fullness upon entering a floor, picking up an item, encountering an item, may all effect this. Knowing this with trial and error, and maybe with the help of behind the scenes tools like a hex viewer as well as save states on a emulator for quick experimenting He was able to develop a ritual a set of actions that always almost 100% of the time generates specific circumstances and gets the highest yield.
From I understand from that, belly factor has nothing to do with this. It’s all quicksaving. When you quicksave, the dungeons “value” (how the dungeon appears and what makes it random) is set to 0 when you load the save and move to the next floor. After you quicksave, the rest of the dungeon is preset. That’s how quicksaving manipulation works. By quicksaving on the 1st floor, you can set the rest of the dungeon and it’ll be the same every time you re enter. Take Tiny Woods for example. If you quicksave on 1F, that floor would be the only random floor since the rest of the dungeon is set to whatever layout they have. That’s how Mystaldi found this out. By quicksaving and save states, he was able to find the locations of all the joy seeds.
One-Room Orb! you save state once you enter a floor, then use One-Room orb which tears down ALL walls letting u see all items, and then you load the state back!
You can just...... find Joy Seeds in the wall............. Okay then. A few questions, you said having Super Mobile works as well, but wouldn’t that screw with the RNG manipulation since you wouldn’t be able to travel through the walls in diagonals? If I remember correctly, Super Mobile lets you dig through the walls, but only in the cardinal directions, not diagonals. (Could be wrong though.) Secondly, would Thrawl and One-Room Orbs “reveal” them or does the game pretend like they don’t exist until you dig them out/pick them up? Thirdly... no seriously why are there Joy Seeds in the goddamn walls.
The RNG is only based on quicksaves, your movement on each floor is irrelevant (unless you're recruiting something). The one room + trawl orb combo would also absolutely work as well. And lastly, I have no idea haha ^_^
Mystaldi so wait. If only the quicksaves are relevant, does this mean I can take any Pokemon into the dungeon? Because I have a full IQ, lv 100 Blastoise which could wear a tight belt. I think i saw him get 2 joy seed next to each other. So there might be more than just one. Just one question, how do you figure out where the seeds are?
Quicksaving sets things up so the rest of the dungeon is the same every time, so all I had to do was use a one room orb on each floor to find the items and then figure out how to get to them. Also, this may not work on Red Rescue Team. When you quicksave in RRT, you have to do a hard reset of the game to get the manipulation to work, but I don't know if the version difference effects anything.
The idea is that this pathing takes you straight to the seeds on the right spots if you follow the same steps and you quicksave on those specific places, this way the RNG will spawn the same maps with the same items on the same places This is the specific method for farming Joy Seeds, but you can also find other methods for farming different items, all based on manipulating the RNG like this

Make sure that you quicksave everywhere that I do. If you're playing on Red, reset the game after you quicksave
@@Mystaldi Thank you so much! You are literally a saint, for putting this out there! Trying to gather them, to finally recruit Keckleon, so not only thank you for the Joy Seed tutorial, but also thank you for the Keckleon tutorial! C:
So if I use anything that destroys walls (such as the 1 room orb or the IQ skills that lets you move through walls by destroying them) do the items become visible on the floor? And do items spawn in walls also normally (without any manipulation)?
Yes, the movements I have routed for this video are just the fastest, if you quicksave in the same places I do the items will appear in the same place. Without any manipulation you can still find items like this in the walls.
I'm playing red rescue team and doing all the steps right but at the 5th seed i find a gravelerock instead. What am i doing wrong?
This is specifically routed in blue rescue team, there are slight differences in some parts of the game that will cause that, specifically version exclusive pokemon, it may not be the same
@@Mystaldi It works perfectly for red rescue team as well, just went through the whole thing on the Nintendo switch emulator. Just like you said for blue rescue team, for red you have to unlock minun and it will fix that problem. Also like the other comments said when you quick save you have to do a hard reset. This was a life saver, thank you!!
Amazing. Thanks for the video
My Lairon just evolved into Aggron and I recruited a Larvitar a while ago ... How hard is it to get it to evolve into a Tyranitar at this point in the game without this trick (Shortly after beating Kyogre and before entering Burried Relic and Smeargle's mission ... I was training hard in Team Rumblerock's Dojo oh yes and I'm on Red rescue team version)
Level 55. Simple as that
Do Team Hydro
They give 2833 EXP if you defeat all of them (Hint: Charizard With Heat Wave and Articuno with Powder Snow)
Does this work for red recue team?
Is there only one Joy Seed in the walls per floor?
There might be more than one on some floors? I don't remember to be honest.
I think i saw him get 2 joy seed next to each other. So there might be more than just one. Just one question, how do you figure out where the seeds are?
@@johnlabu1154 One room orbs and Trial multiple tries to look at all stages, then adding in the rng manip to fix room seeds and routing
1st floor screwed me over with explosive tiles and being sandwiched by pokemon haha
My brain hurts...
Does it actually matter what Pokemon you use besides saving time teleporting to the stairs?
As long as you teleport or have the IQ skill that lets you move through walls, it shouldn't matter too much.
Does it matter whether or not I hold B when moving around?
No just quick save at the exact moments
This is one hell of a method.
How do you know where the item is anyways? And does this work on the other version: Red Rescue Team?
Quicksaving sets things up so the rest of the dungeon is the same every time, so all I had to do was use a one room orb on each floor to find the items and then figure out how to get to them. Also, this may not work on Red Rescue Team. When you quicksave in RRT, you have to do a hard reset of the game to get the manipulation to work, but I don't know if the version difference effects anything.
@@Mystaldi I am playing on an emulator anyways. So I can just save and delete the file over and over again. But I guess this can help.
Can you confirm if this works on RRT after spending some time with this? Cuz this stuff seems absurdly overpowered and I would love to use it.
It works. You just need to turn it off after every quicksave (hard reset)
i don't understand how this works. how do you know were to go to find these seeds to me it looks like your just going to random spots on the map
The idea is that this pathing takes you straight to the seeds on the right spots if you follow the same steps and you quicksave on those specific places, this way the RNG will spawn the same maps with the same items on the same places
This is the specific method for farming Joy Seeds, but you can also find other methods for farming different items, all based on manipulating the RNG like this
This would work... But fighting those Blastoise and Charizard's in Western cave seems almost as effective...
Going 90 floors to grind everytime seems like a bit much, grinding the Team Hydro dojo is the fastest way normally.
@@Mystaldi eh, I just found it a bit convenient since Mewtwo is difficult to recruit. Heck most of the Pokemon give away 600+ exp anyways I mean you have an awesome way of doing things your way.
Is there a new place the dungeon notes are now that the patreon is defunct?
Discord! Starting to add them in a channel there
Thank you. I might join later then.
Is there any manipulations for EOS?
Sadly no :(
Are these manips exclusive to game region or can I reproduce these on a european game?
I'm not too sure about that one actually, it's worth a try. I know quicksave manipulation works for other regions but I don't know if it will result in the same floor layouts.
@@Mystaldi Thank you for the quick reply! I'll try as soon as I can and report the results.
@@Mystaldi All floor layouts were the same, I was able to recruit mew successfully! Thank you so much for your guides!
Je n'est rien compris la manipulation ce serait formidable de rediger ca en francais! Car sinon je vais retourner sur la version dx et dans les ruines enfouies les objets caches dans les murs sont visibles aux rayons x !
9:21 Plusle and Minum exclusives?? I see both of them in the same game... :/
You can unlock them
@@cmchorda2646 I don't understand how that works... How do you unlock them or recruit them by just completing a job where he/she is the client? :/
Ex: I have Blue Rescue Team, I used a Wonder Mail code to unlock/recruit Roselia, wich is exclusive of Red Rescue Team, and nothing happened... just got the common rewards for completing the job but not Roselia... :/
@@sefirot57 You have unlocked Roselia in the sense that it'll now appear in dungeons as a Pokemon you can recruit.
In PMD EoS you can get people recruited after missions are done but not in this game. You'll have to go find Roselia. I think they appear in Uproar Forest.
For some reason floor 12 joy seeds are gravelerocks
Does this only work for blue? What about red?
It does, you just need to hard reset (shut off the GBA) after you quicksave. You might also need Minun in the dungeon
Would this work for red as well? Or just blue?
Just Blue, sorry. You can give it a try, making sure to reset the game after each quicksave, but I doubt it will work. :(
Yes, I tried it, this also worked for red, but in 12f, I picked up Gravelerock, not Joy seed :P
Enler Rakuen awesome! So everything else is joy seeds?
@@csh86 And in 13f,not joy seed, the others are joy seeds
Do you have to do this move by move???
Yes
@@Mystaldi oh well. Where do I find an alakazam?

I'm interested to play on emulator..can i get that wondermail when play using emulator?
Yes iirc, there are wondermail generator websites for rescue team games. It's just a bunch of code afterall
@@rin8310 if i want to use code on B rank but im in C rank, does it work? Do i need to go to postgame first? Sorry for bombarding you with question
@@johnlabu1154 not able to answer, but the discord might be helpful
If youre playing on emulator, you might aswell use cheat codes for infinite exp or joy seeds...
@@shadowblitzo123 just want to experience the "pain" people talk about this game but can't afford to buy the real console
Stream?
Does this work on red rescue team
It does, you just need to hard reset (shut off the GBA) after you quicksave. You might also need Minun in the dungeon
Hopefully this'll work on the new HD version
Doubt it
It won’t because quicksaving has been changed from setting the rest of the dungeon to just being a save
Note: the whole setting of the rest of the dungeon isn’t intentional so it makes sense why it was fixed
Anyone know if this works for Rescue team DX?
Noooope
Does this work in dx?
No
I'm so confused
Recruit kadabra instead of abra so that alakazam is level 30
The level doesn't really matter too much for this strat, plus that's much harder to do without manipulation.
Thank you sooooo much
Can you do this without a level 16 Alakazam?
Level doesn't matter for this, I was just demonstrating that you can do this with the lowest possible leveled Alakazam.
@@Mystaldithanks, but I have another question. Can we use another Pokemon instead of Alakazam?
@@poolygoliath7833 Alakazam is the best teleport user at low level. Teleport is just to avoid walking and fighting Pokemon. You can use any Pokemon with max IQ, but it's longer.
@@alphaclement7695 okkkk thanks :)
Plllss explain this manipulation stuff! I don't find anything about this on Google etc!
If I remember correctly, a lot of his RNG manipulation is based on trial and error with save states on Virtual Console or emulator. Subsequent room layouts are fixed when you quicksave at a particular floor, which makes manipulation doable on console.
Cheating in infinite One-Room Orbs and Trawl Orbs would help in that process too
You have to be fat for this work
Stream more, nerd!
I can't anymore, my internet isn't good enough :(
@@Mystaldi Maybe It Will Be Good Soon..
It doesn't work at all, I fucking tried for one week😂.
Please help me I'm really desperate...
PS: I have RRT and Idk how I can do it.
You have to reset after quicksaving.
BAD
Hmm I’m having trouble following the guide. Im not sure why my frustration doesnt deal 45 damage each time which screws the whole route up. Also it appears that moving down and left compared to diagonally in one move changes things
You increased the IQ on your Alakazam, which makes the attack do less damage. Just recruit another Abra and evolve it to Alakazam and use that one. :P
Mystaldi thank you!
Does it work with Red Rescue Team ?
Yes! But when he quicksaves and returns to the menu, you need to shut off and turn back on the GBA for it to work
Does it have to be lightning field?
Unfortunately yeah because this place seems to have those than anything, I remember with my Charizard with max CI I got sitrus berry very frequent.
