Ords these ladies have sooo many great songs that if you asked ten Maidiacs their top ten songs you would probably get at least fifty different songs…probably more. 🍺🥴
This is one of my top Band-Maid songs, love it. The sweet vocals set against the heavy instrumental in this pair perfectly. And the live version they just crank the distortion way up and Saiki sings her lungs out, it's perfection.
That your interpretation of the lyrical content is correct, despite not knowing the lyrics, demonstrates the power of BAND-MAID’s song writing. This is the B-side of YOLO, one of my favorite songs, especially for the vocals. And the music is so good they also released an instrumental version.
Oh shit what an amazing obscure Band-Maid song. The live version that is NOT on their official page is amazing. And yes Akane gets her props. Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin insisted on meeting her after seeing them live in Japan in 2016.
Matchless Gum is one of the first 4 songs they composed with Alone, Yolo and Unfair Game (Kanami is the main composer) in 2016 and which their label accepted. This gives you an idea of the level of skill they had already acquired. THANKS.
Matchless Gum, Corallium, Moratorium, Hibana, . These are "B" sides that are all shinning stars. Some of the older ones like Love Passion Matador and Summer Drive are just good old rock and roll. I hope you touch on more B sides in your travels. Honey is a cover song.
Anyone who doesn't realize how much of an amazing guitarist Kanami is, is missing so much. I call her the "Wonderful Little Genius" because of her compositions, her shredding and the sounds that she introduces to their songs is both eye-opening and eye-popping.
FYI, it's a soft E on the end of Akane's name. If you've ever studied Spanish, romanized Japanese has basically the same vowels, and they're context independent, so you don't have to worry about vowels in series, or E's at the end of words modifying earlier vowels, etc.
I don't speak Japanese so I may be way off on this. My observation is that when Japanese is written out in Romaji or Romanized, the vowel sounds are always pronounced this same way. A is aah like a doctor is examining your throat. E is eh like in the word bet. I is eee like in the word see. O is oh like in the word so. U is ooo like in the word boo or is sometimes dropped and not pronounced at all as in the word desu.
@@ALAN_COX This is basically right. The U at the end of words like desu isn't strictly dropped, like it's not wrong to pronounce them, but just as like a product of common speech patterns that shift over time, you kind of don't go out of your way to pronounce them in certain contexts. It's similar to if you didn't use any contractions in English. It's not wrong, but you sound weird to people. Kind of old timey. If you watch Japanese period piece movies, you'll hear them pronounce the su in desu and stuff sometimes.
Ords, no worries. Just giving these ladies the respect of trying to learn their names is where it's at. And I am sure by the end of all of this you will want to watch Ohrenje's documentaries on these ladies and fall deeper into the BM Maidiac fandom.

Depending on a day, Matchless Gum defeats Moratoriam and become my No.1. I have to admit that 'Magie' has been my recent favourite. Every song has its time to shine, that's the way it is with Band-Maid songs. But when it comes to this song, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 version is the standard, I converted it into audio format so that I can enjoy it anytime I want.
I am afraid to do this because it's not uncommon to see people disagree about song meaning. Hell, people still have discussions about what Beatles songs are about all these years later! That said, here goes, TO ME, MY HUMBLE OPINION! This song is about falling for someone, the initial infatuation, not knowing whether they feel the same way and being so infatuated that you don't care. Desire. If you feel it is about something different, it's ok, I am not in the Pidgeon's head, she is the only one who knows what she was thinking when she wrote the lyrics. God, wouldn't it be great if she left a comment explaining her thoughts? Talk about a reaction blowing up! See! I already need to edit myself, Miku and Saiki are credited with the lyrics to this one. My apologies to Saiki for not knowing that off the top of my head! And I call myself a Maidiac? So sorry!
BAND-MAID / Beauty and the Beast Please! 🙂
Honestly, I didn't expect him to get this out so fast!
Wife and I listened to *Beauty and the Beast* on the way to the store today. 😄
My dude! Humbled 🙏 do you have a link for a specific version of the songs?? You’re a legend! 💪🫡🔥
I got you BIG DWAG! 💪
@@ReactAttack90 Audio track is good 😊
No bad songs from Band-Maid, just different ones!
There are some real gems on the B sides of their singles.
An album of their B-sides would put a lot of famous band's Grestest Hits albums to shame.
Super Factz! 🤟

"Yolo", the A-side, is generally considered to be pretty good as well. 😉 Thanks for the reaction!

I love that heavy swing guitar sound in this song. One of my top 10 favorites by Band-Maid.
Ohhh, "Turn Me On" that's a great track! Live in Tokyo, I gonna go watch it now. 🤘 Band Maid has the BEST B-sides!
Couldn't help myself! Love this song! Thanks dude! My favorite band ROCKS! Yes, Akane is a beast. Gorilla on the skins!
Great pick Big Al 😏

It's not obscure if you've watched the 2017 Shinkiba Studio Coast concert dvd around 200 times lol
Yup 👍
If you like this, you'll like "Awkward" as well. Check out the live version, if you can find it, if not, the studio version is nearly as good.
One of my favorite "B" sides, not as well known but definitely the Band Maid touch to a classic sound, love it!

Don't forget "Smile" B side on Bubble. Probably their first song to us, their fans, and my all time favorite.
Screaming! And Choose Me was the B side to Daydreaming.
@@chrisbergsten1429 I saw them play Screaming twice last year. Total shocker!!
The live videos of Band-Maid from the venues with chandeliers onstage are the all time best IMHO.
Such a cool song! I love the live version of this one. Thanks for the reaction, can't wait for more!!
and there you see Band-Maids versatility in one song, a rip snorting banger.

The one live version of Matchless Gum I've heard is crazy good. The MV for the title track of the Yolo single is a fun one, too!
This song is so 🔥 🔥 🔥
Cool song, a ballad, with some thrash.

It's the same sound Saiki uses for her "hey" to kick off the studio version of Thrill.
I believe this is an accurate guide to pronouncing Akane:

Which band has such great songs as "B-sides"? Ok, most Band-Maid EPs are more "A+A+A+A" than A+B" 😉

This song was written as an elegy for the days of old when every pack of gum came with a book of matches. Maybe.
