Irrespective of what side of the argument your on, for those to kids to be put through that at the hands of adults is nothing short of absolutely wicked.
This was a very sad video which needed to be shown. I don`t support either side but think its disgusting that such young children are subjected to such treatment at the hands of yobs. Who cares what the parents were doing out of camera shot - the yobs should`nt have been there! This is a sad reflection on the people of Northern Ireland, thank God you are not all the same!!!!!
Here in Brazil we were shocked about what the Irish people are oblied to live in the hand of these loyalists... The poor girls were the target this time... It´s a shame...
Well said. I am glad to see it has gave you strength. Only sad uneducated people would try to justify the protesters sickening acts. Keep your head up.
The problem with some ignorant people is that they confuse 'faith' with 'faith tradition' - they are different things but never a justification for this kind of intolerance and abuse.I thank God I live in a country where these horrific actions are viewed from a safe distance, and the perpetrators are condemned as lunatics and terrorists by Catholic and Protestant alike here.
it still shocks me to the core everytime I think back to this period in history, I sincerely hope it never comes to this again, and we actually can get on with each other and stop living in the past. This just proves how bad things can get, and why we must never let them get like this again.
its a pretty "nice" presentation, where did you get those pictures for the video from ? I d like to take the pictures and add them to another song. Greez Patrick from germany
Regardless of your side, kids should not have to go through this, and tbh people should just accept that people have different beliefs on politics respectfully and not saying mean things to others, some people say that the parents shouldn’t have sent the kids to this school but I will let you all decide on that matter respectfully.
It's sad to see that loyalists can't condemn their community attacking kids. Loyalists refused to condemn their community organising child sex trading in kincora and the targeting of innocent civilians. Their hatred for catholic faith has eroded all rational and moral thought.
its called 'there were roses' by cara dillon, very good song, another good cara dillon song is 'the streets of derry' which you can find on here. Hope that helps.
@belfastorbust even though i'm a republican doesnt mean i'm a bigot and i know there good people on both sides who deplore this type of thing so lets hope something like this will ever happen again eh
You talk about a 'loyalist area' ??? Just because one group of people, by birthright or choice, attend a Catholic school or church, instead of a protestant one. The last time I (a Catholic) attended an Anglican service, we all paryed to the same God, using the same prayers, praising the name of the same Jesus Christ, and were welcomed and included as a part of a faith community.
TheDoctor, Thank you for your comment. Please remember my words were "maybe the British squaddies"There are some precedents for this assumption. Saville enquiry, Ballymurphy, shoot to kill policy, ad nauseum. Some Squaddies may have had a less than respectful opinion of the minority community in the Northern part of my Country at that time. The Army was brought in to my Country to reinforce English domineerance in my humble opinion.I would welcome anything you could offer to change that opinion,
Respond to this video... Another thing, you say "the protestants attacked first way before then"....when exactly do you mean? Before the Celts invaded England and captured St Patrick as a slave??? Explain please?
@lil nt Although you probably didn't know it at the time, but you exposed loyalism for monster it is. You let the world see the true face of the racist loyalist. Fair play to you love.
I wish people would stop stooping to sectarian comments here, what happened there was awful and the pictures are there for the world to judge. I feel proud to be Irish , but to brand all Protestants as loyalists is disrespectful to the history of Ireland. How many people in this country actually go to chapel/church anymore? Surely a country can never be truly united whilst the people are divided.
i have to laugh at all the comments people are making as if they know all. i was a pupil of holy cross at 7 years of age and my parents done the best thing for me , they showed me to stand up for myself and never let anyone walk over me. it was my RIGHT to go to school, it was my RIGHT to get an education! the protesters were the people in the wrong! how any one can blame the parents is unbelievable and truly sickening!!
You know sj2686, I though we were about to have a decent adult conversation there. What a pity you let yourself down at the end. Think I've said everything I want to now. .. oh, and your school is non-denominational.
@bladeuth Catholics burning Protestants out of their homes? You did hear of Bombay street and the battle of the bogside? You are very ignorant of the conflict.
well i half agree with u, that protest was beyond wrong, although the parents were equally as bad bringing their children through that everyday for 3 months, considering they were the reason a protest started, as the year previous they attacked loyalists residents after dropping their children to school
absolutely right 123backinyerface. the people of ireland shouldn't be divided by tiny religious differences. we should all move togather in solidarity to break sectarianism and break every product of sectarianism in our society. we should unite the people under a united socialist sovereign republic of ireland. "ireland unfree can never be at peace".
first and foremost i class myself as northern irish, and i am proud of it, i am also proud to be british and live under the crown, i do class the ROI as a foreign country that borders mine, i do however realize that a lot (not all RCs) in NI like to wrongly class themselves as just irish, but that doesnt annoy me, i can see the logic to a certain extent, i have no problem with anyone waving a irish flag after a sporting event even if they come from NI, but i am sure u would have a problem .....
Poor school girls! What a burden must have been places on Queen Elizabeth II, and Mary McAleese, and Pope Benedict XVI, this shouldn't happen, it's just wrong!
that school has been in a loyalist area for over 30 years without incident. the reason for a protest was because them parents had been attacking and abusing loyalist residents for months previous. anyone who watches this video ask yourself what loyalists must have went through before making the decision to start a protest, it was never against children but against their bigoted child abusing parents, ask yourself would you put your child through that just to make a political point?????
sj2686, I was refering to where you say "I went to a Protestant school " surely you mean a secular non denominational school? What a joke, men walking down your street? Is that really a problem? Even if they are taunting you. The whole place needs to grow up and have respect for others. AMDG
@belfastorbust OMG is right. . . how can you possibly say this was not directed at the kids? The entire operation was directed at the kids. . Pathetic mate. . absolutley pathetic..
@marcopolo1690 but the protestants attacked first way before then and the Brit military have always backed them, unbiased peacekeeping is the least they can do but it would still be best if they just pulled out completely. Do you not remember Bloody Friday?
as well as RIRA, CIRA etc etc etc, the PIRA turned in to murdering bastards as well during their campaign , i no they probs would never existed if RCs were not treated bad at the start of the troubles, something i totally condemn and am ashamed happened in my country, loyalist paramilitaries were murdering scum as well, both they and the PIRA started out for the good of their people, but both lost their way and became monsters, and thank u for respecting my identity, i also respect your view
You embarrassed yourself with your first comment in relation to Ireland and the Irish living in the 1800's! If your going to pass comment and exercise your opinion on this matter or any other concerning the Irish find your sources and study them! Quote yourself "There are plenty of sources for me to gather the information."
how sad that u dont even realize your parents abused u, every parent has a duty of care to protect their children first and foremost, your parents didnt have to put u in harms way to teach u to stand up for yourself, its the 21st century, maybe in 2000bc that would have been acceptable.
its not part of England, its part of Britain, here is another way of putting it will, North Korea and South Korea r classed and identified as separate nations and countries, no one calls them just Koreans.....same thing
@belfastorbust even if the glenbyrne residents had grieveness there was no need to subject children to this kind of thing e.g throwing balloons full of piss at a 4 year old really gets your message accrodd to the worlds media doesnt it
actually i am all for shared space, but no matter what any republican says, NI is a British country, which consists of 6 counties, do u get the same benefits in your foreign land, do u have the same housing benefits, is the queens head on your money, is your health care the same etc etc, really dont understand the hatred towards Britain in your foreign land, remember who bailed u out of your massive debts,
@marcopolo1690 why don't i vacate my home country for the Native Indians? Because i haven't met a native indian yet...i'd give all to them. Northern Ireland opted probably because of inside pressure and curruption from the Brit military - get the whole island to vote and you'd be packing your bags.
Everton Primary School had to close many years ago, because the Protestant children and thier parents no longer found it possible to attend, due to consistant attacks from republicans from Ardoyne. This was barely reported in the news at the time. Known IRA members wer seen escorting children to H.C School... A confrontation was inevitable.
Ok, I have no reason to doubt all those things happened. But as far as i can see, none of them were perpetrated by any of the young school girls. If you can find a reason for justifying the treatment of those kids, them I'm so glad that my Father decided to move away from there when we were young. I'd hate to have grown up as a hate filled bigot. So keep it going, tit for tat, tit for tat, tit for tat...................
I wasn't going to answer because your logic was so silly, but I will incase you embarrass yourself infront of anyone. I dont need to live in a certain place to know about it. There are plenty of sources for me to gather the information. Just dont be follish again, thanks.
It's high time you people 'evolved' beyond the feudal age and that this biggoted and abhorrent behaviour will hopefully die out with your generation, leading to a more peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Northern Ireland.
@marcopolo1690 lol i'll tell you something ask your government why, why there was no warning, lol they were warning for every single bomb that went of that day, just like omagh, were the ruc moved them towards the bomb ummmm. i wonder why they moved them towards the bomb when the RIRA gave the police the exact location of the bomb,
@1948bazza lol irishmen created....are you forgeting who invaded ireland, the british laws had never left ireland, not within those 800 years, and the dublin state did do their part, they didn't hesitate to turn a blind eye on PIRA patrols at the border, or supply the training needed to tackle the british army,
@marcopolo1690 Don't talk to me about 9/11 - we all know it was an inside job so don't even insult my intelligence - unless of course your calling our own shadow government terrorists, in which case i'll agree. Brits should not even be on the island at all - it's not their land. Technically, i'm living on Native Indian land - history is not forgot

Things like this justifies kicking them out of Ireland for good.
Whats the tune on this?? TAL

@cowerofshunts
So the Squaddies were supporting the loyalist protestors? Is that what you are saying?
@bladeuth A poetic response. No wonder there is so much support for the loyalist cause. You guy's aren't bigoted at all!
the song is called "there were roses" and its sung by cara dillon, hope this helps
how could any body treat children like that
How sick are they to pick on children, they should be ashamed of themselves,
Why was there a protest in the first place?
What's that song called ?
what song is this?
@marcopolo1690 how convenient how you missed out the fact that British troops opened fire on civilians...
its called 'there were roses' by cara dillon, very good song, another good cara dillon song is 'the streets of derry' which you can find on here. Hope that helps.

It's "There Were Roses" by Cara Dillon
