    Piston slap here is due to design of these (for 1l pretty efficient) engines. They come by default with slim pistons (less friction) which in connection with VVT & constantly changing of ignition timing gives that ticking noise - nothing bad with this. Drawback is typically you burn/loose lot of oil (use 5W-30 in my for 6 month pretty cold country and need at least 1l extra oil for ~10k km) from passing by the pistons, so definitely not a city car for small distances.

    • @SeasideGarage
      @SeasideGarage  3 года назад +1

      Its normal for them to be noisy yes.. This one is extreme... the metal on metal sound is pretty horrible for the first 10 min of driving... then its not that bad... :) It uses around a liter pr 1000km...
      Yea consideren other engines the 68 horses from a 1.0 is pretty healthy.... On the other hand, my 1050 Fiat abarth engine is producing 70 horsepower from a old school pushrod engine!! Not that economically though.. ;)
