- We are here to react to some of our most bizarre hate comments that we've received on our videos. Luckily for us, these commenters went out of their way to write their thoughts (that probably should have remained in their heads) for us in a public comment section. Warning that there are some acephobic, homophobic, and transphobic elements to some of these comments. Hope you all find these as entertaining as we did!

I always feel so privileged to be as young as I am in the time I live when I read things like this because I have always been able to find this community my entire life. I don’t know how I would have dealt with the aphobia present in society without such a strong community to fall back on, and I think that those who dealt with the aphobia for a long time without being able to fall back on this community some of the strongest people ever. Props to you for persisting through that.

Hi Spacey Aces! I previously commented on your What Type of Ace Are You video saying thanks for all this channel has done in helping me understand my identity, because I’m 16 and I felt really disconnected before in a world which seemed to involve sex in everything, and this channel gave me a way to be connected to not only my identity but the community which shares it. Just giving an update in my ace journey (it’s not really a big deal or anything) for not other reason besides the fact that I love this channel, but I just came out for the first time, to my best friend, who was really supportive, and we texted for an hour and a half, and I actually used your video What is Asexuality to help explain my identity to her. I feel a bit exposed now that I’ve told someone and it feels like my identity is out there, because I didn’t really mean to tell her but kind of just did because we were talking about Heartbreak High (which is quite relevant to me as an Australian high schooler) and how sex was so prevalent in the show, and I was saying how I didn’t get it at all and didn’t really want to do any of that stuff, and she was like, “not ever?” *surprised* And I just blurted out, “I think I’m kind of like Ca$h,” and she said, “like asexual?” And I was like “I guess… I think so…” except I KNOW and thought now that it had happened I may as well explain it to her. But it went well and she was so understanding and listened a lot and genuinely cared about my explanation of my bi-/pan-romantic asexuality, and I’m happy that now my identity (which I accept and understand thanks to this channel) can be shared and I can be proud and comfortable with it outwardly (at least with her for now). I know that not all responses will be positive (as these comments you went through show) and I’m interested to see how my parents react if I ever tell them because in the past they’ve said some ace-phobic stuff even if they’re accepting of other identities, but I think I can be more secure in my identity now because I can finally see from my own life that people can understand, even if they’re allosexual, which is the vast majority, aka every single person I know (I only found out what asexuality was off the internet; I had never known it existed until a few months ago). So thank you for giving me enough confidence in my identity to share it for the first time. And also, Kaden your hair is awesome! It’s something I always think when I see you in these videos, and it kind of reminds me of what an enchanted forest fairy’s hair would look like.

Hello! I'm so proud of you for coming out to your friend and enduring that "foot out of the closet door" transitional state where your identity seems very open. I'm glad you have a friend who understands you, and I hope that your parents, if/when you tell them, will be radically accepting, or at least do their best to be if they don't understand right away. Love your videos! Question for a next one… how do you deal with identity confusion and intersectionality?
Good question! I want to make sure I've interpreted it correctly, so the first sort of example that comes to mind is: "am I asexual, or do I feel a disconnect with my body and how it relates to others because I'm nonbinary?" Do you have any examples in mind?
The person who left the comment about being a "payingsexual" should have said that they were a "paysexual" instead. That way, it still wouldn't be funny, but at least they would have tried.
"Payingsexual" is really awkward to say...
